I grew up in San Clemente / Dana Point, and have the usual wild stories of most 1964 surfers. If you're interested... Killer Dana was no joke, I woke up across from the look out one morning to the whole house shaking each time a wave broke. I flew out of bed and after watching it for close to an hour I thought I had a plan. The lulls were 10 minutes long so the paddle out was on flat water. I remember there was one other guy sitting next to me as I sat point man (14 yo boy), when my mouth went dry from fear as the sky suddenly turned an ominous black from a rouge set. Everyone was caught off guard and had to dig deep to make it out & over, and that lucky guy next to me just barely squeaked over the top, leaving me as the one the crowd could point too and grown as I tried in vain to roll and punch through this heavy breaking lip. I was at the top of this mountain of water future out then I had ever been when my head popped out and all I could see were the rocks far below me. This rouge set had sucked the entire cove dry. I was convinced I was just about to die a horrible death, only we all know I didn't ~ ✍)))
I wish you to become the biggest female, women surf channel on RU-vid because of all the awesome and amazing helpful and fun to watch content you, your hubby, and team, put out!! Thanks for sharing with us what the pro comp tour life looks like from the inside out!! Let's gooooo goooo team #teamlakey #lakeypeterson!! 🎉 Maaahaaalooo jaaaahlo(made up word to rhyme with mahalo)!! I'm so glad lots of you pro surfers jumped on making social media content on the reg because we get those vicarious adjacent vibes from watching the vids with no big media company fluff or glaaam blaaam overkill!! Pro surf life shared on social media outweighs surf mag only content.. It would be nice if surf mags came back, though!! Where's the Molls, Molly moll, pickles, Picklum, been hiding??? She brings so much fire energy to your vids when you guys are road doggy dogging.. Your thumbnails are on point, aka heckaaa cool, Coolio like the legendary rappers name. Happy Surfing from VB/VIRGINIA BEACH!! ✌️😎✌️
Look into Dr. Rhonda Patrick talking about mixing bananas and blueberries. Apparently bananas have something in them that cancel out the beneficial polyphenols in blueberries. Or just keep enjoying whatever you enjoy. Much like the oat milk(with out the carrageenan).
You should have all the confidence in the world! You’re an amazing surfer and I watch your videos all the time before I go surfing. I look up to you so much and try to surf like you everyday!
Awesome video as always lakey. You and Tom are welcome to come try the surf down southwest England if you ever fancy the cold English waters and southwest hospitality! 🤙 🏴
Church is really fun on a 4-5ft windswell with some small long interval southern hemi mixed in. Remember this for those hard on/side shore sunny Springtime days and go left! It might surprise you! 💯
Hi Lakey, always enjoyed your surfing . Eversince that NY contest when you did that Air360 I was like man “ This chick is new school “ but I love the carves the most. New subscriber so I look forward to the experience.
Huge huge fan from the 805 oxnard shores..... I have a go to smoothie for after surf Bananas Blueberries Frozen dark cherries Cacao Tumeric Oats Spirulina or AG1 kale Coconut water or milk Peanut butter Loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory and the cherries are great for nap time because of their melatonin. Hope you try and like!
Love the summer CA life! I'm off to body surf dink waves at Santa Claus on Fiesta Friday. Good song too. Keep it ROCKIN Lakey, on rail - you do it so naturally ! ! !
Sorry Tom, the bounce out never counts lol. Will be rooting you on at the comp as always. Oh yea, that smoothie looks damn good right about now. Thanks as always.
Lakey, might want to consider preparing for life after wsl. Kathy Ireland (worth 420 million)would be a good role model. May need to cc you name . Ireland started selling socks at K mart . Ralph Lauren started selling ties. Your Hubby needs to create a marketing plan. A logo could be helpful . With proper marketing, You could be a billionaire .
I have a question. Why do all the pro surfers use electric bikes? Wouldn't cycling to the beach on a normal bike be beneficial as well as it could be part of training. You guys do so much training it seems silly not to incorporate such a simple thing and one saves on electricity as well. So much time spent in gyms and all this high tech stuff which is great but training can be simple too. I'm 51 years and my wife and I have quite an active lifestyle for our age and we try to do functional training as part of our daily lives. We go for swims in a sea- pool ( we're in Cape Town so the water's quite cold, but we swim all year round without wetsuits) , do slow runs, walks and also do some yoga and strength stuff as well. I've been surfing since age 9. Using an electric bike seems silly to me, surely normal cycling makes your legs way stronger, you get a good warm up on the way to a surf and you get a way better work out. I see the Colapinto's doing the same thing. If I was your coach it's something I would mention for sure.
