I am 11 years old and because of you I want to be a teacher. I binge watch your channel, when I see a new one that came out, I cannot wait to watch it. I want to be a teacher like you when I grow up. You are an inspiration!
You should keep the birthday cups in those colorful bins above your cabinets. You could label them by the months you need. They will be there but out of the way.
I was always the teacher who would sit with the lights off whenever my students weren't in my classroom because it was so much more relaxing to have the lights off when they were gone so I could recharge! Hope you feel better soon, Michelle!
I hope you're feeling better since it's now Sunday. Don't apologize whatsoever for not having all of your videos up on specific days - you need to make yourself priority #1. We all love you and totally understand.
You remind me of my mom, you both never stop working! Please take a break sometimes to enjoy life or get some rest. Watch a show with Billy or do something else you enjoy. I know it's hard but you have to try. I love the birthday gifts you made for your kids!
My teacher always checks her emails with the board still on! My two favourites were: one telling her exactly what our next assembly was and a teacher asking ‘are we all still up for the fish and chip run on Wednesday?’ The same teacher also texts, does her hair and makeup and organises her bag in the middle of class! She’s one of my favourite teachers because she’s just so hilariously unorganised!
You know you've been watching a lot of pocketful of primary when you dream about going to Dollar tree and buying those containers she uses for decks of cards lol!❤️ Also I feel your pain on grading. I have 5 classes all over 30 kids. 😔
So crazy how illnesses spread even in another state (PA) ! I help out in a first grade classroom 4 days a week and I got sick with the same symptoms!! Feel better Michelle❤️
I got sick this last week too, and I am a substitute (leaving teaching, starting my own business,) so I was only teaching 4 days in the last two weeks, and I got sick with the same thing on Thursday. lol
I'm one of those people that drink cold drinks when my throat hurts. Not sure why but I get better faster vs when I drink hot drinks. It's a lot more soothing on the throat too...at least for me!
Idea for you: on the drawer cart for your graded papers, have you thought about making the labels on the front color coded to match the highlighted names? that way all your mailman has to do is match the colors!
That template sounds divine for clipboard cruising! I swear this year since transitioning into the public environment I'm using ideas from your blog. Take care of yourself! I ended up battling Mono this year already. Get some rest sweet lady, and don't ever feel pressured to get these blogs our by Sunday when you feel this bad. We completely understand! You have to come first
Is it weird that whenever I'm feeling unmotivated, i watch like 10 minutes of these vlogs and am suddenly motivated to do work?? Like thank you Michelle, you've saved my grades lol
For the birthday gifts - get some drink holders from Chic-fl-a so you can take them to school in multiples at a time and also use the containers to store them neatly. I'm sure if you ask nicely and explain they are for school they will give you at least a few and you could always as at more than one location.
Michelle, I'm so glad you're having a great year! I enjoy your vlogs. I've been teaching for 32 years and some years are more trying than others. It sounds like you are enjoying the new environment and the kids. Feeling good about where you work makes the challenges easier. You work very hard and are very devoted. Please remember that the more you take care of yourself, the better you'll be for your kiddos. I hope you're feeling better and get some SLEEP!
I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, but I've been watching your vlogs since last school year and I must say - You look so much more ALIVE throughout the day! It's easy to tell that you're so much happier without the behavior problems and the stressful stuff you had to deal with last year. As a long time subbie, it makes me so happy 💜 I also live and breathe for Candy Corn! 😂
There was something in the air this week. I also got sick, sore throats and all. Don't feel bad about being not at your best. I think sometimes us at less than our best is still better than having a sub. I think you should just move your weekly blog to being posted on Sunday. That way you have less pressure on Friday night and you can enjoy that the school week finished and recover a little.
I feel for you so much in this video, it honestly hurts to hear how sick your voice sounds! Please PLEASE get your sub binder and emergency plans ready ASAP so you can take time off when you're sick!
Hi!!! I am a Sophomore in High School and I watch your weekly vlogs every Sunday while i do my homework! definitely the highlight of my day :) thanks for being you!
My computer does that too. Leave a video playing on mute and repeat and just minimize it. I use whatever is already installed on windows media player. It should keep it from falling asleep and logging you out!
Just a tip from a fellow coffee loving Marylander... the day after the Ravens win (so usually it’s a Monday) you get a free medium hot or iced coffee with the Dunkin Donuts app!! 💜 Love your videos!!
Can you make a tutorial on how you make your slideshows please? It would be useful for other teachers. I saw you make them on Google docs, but how? Never seen them like that before.
#verylatesquad but I’m watching where the part where you show off your new green vest and I see in my recommended, that you are wearing it in a thumbnail! 😂😂 Love your vids 💜😘
Hi! I teach kindergarten and LOVE your vlogs. You helped me get through this really rough week because you made me feel that what I was feeling is okay and I am not alone! Xoxoxo.
I love your new goal! I think it's key to not get teacher burn out! Set a time and decide to not think about work after that hour. You should have time just for fun. Although it seems like teaching is your passion and it can be fun working on teaching related stuff, you still need some time to relax! Hope you have a great week!
I have those same whiteboards. Super useful! Sticky address labels on the back have worked for me. My boards are 5 years old and still looking great, including the labels staying readable.
I used to keep venus' all the time when I was young. Venus flytraps need HUMIDITY! Put a dome over it make a humid environment. Also, you will need to PUT bugs in the trap! Hold with tweezers and stroke the trap with the bug and let it close on it. It will open and let out the exoskeleton of the bug. It's very cool! Blow off the exoskeleton with a straw. Normally the wind would do that. Let me know how it goes! Good luck!
Mrs.Ferre, i am a sixth grader, I have been watching your channel for 2 years. I feel so much satisfaction when I watch you. It brings me joy and you have inspired me to be a great student in school and be determined (I am an A student) also you have inspired me too think about being a teacher when I grow up. I wish soo soo bad that I was one of your students. But I’m too old anyways! Have a great day and I REALLY hope you reply to this comment it would make my day and my month. Have a great day. And I’m definitely going to give all my teachers apples on Monday !. Love you and your channel ! -Fia
Feel better soon, Michelle! Something I do when I am starting to feel yucky is brew ginger tea. I put water in a saucepan and put slices of ginger in the water. Bring it to a boil and boil, with the lid on, for approximately 10 minutes. I then add an herbal tea bag and turn the stove off. Let the bag steep in the ginger water. When I make my cup of tea, I add some honey and lemon juice to the bottom of my mug and then ladle tea on top. Stir it up and drink it down. The ginger really helps.
So happy your vlog got up! Feel better, I haven’t gotten sick yet..... but I know it’ll happen soon. Love watching your experiences you’re so motivational!
Caramel deLites and Samoas are the same, but are different names depending on the bakery that is used to make them. I think shortbread is also called tri-foils, and peanut butter patties are called something else... I can't remember. These are the things I learned when my mom was the lead cookie person for our entire area.
One video this is unacceptable!!! Hahahaha🤣🤣🤣🤣but seriously I hope u feel better, if i could give u 2 thumbs up i would. 👍👍ur an awesome teacher, those are students!
You're so inspiring, Michelle! Even though I'm going into a different profession than you are in (studying to be a nurse in pediatric oncology!), you truly inspire me to make an even bigger difference in the lives of children, because that's exactly what teachers like yourself do. Thinking back on my years of schooling, it was the teachers that made my socially tough middle and high school years so much better. You make more of a difference than you may realize, so keep up the incredible work!
You work amazingly hard! Your students are very, very lucky to have such a passionate and dedicated teacher. Remember its important to take time to yourself also!
I used to rarely drink coffee from Dunkin', I was always more of a Starbucks girl but after binge watching your videos for a couple weeks, I'm addicted to Dunkin' now! 😂 Also, I have that flannel, it's so cute I love it!! I hope you feel better!!
I teach high school but I still love watching your videos! Don't worry about getting two videos up per week. All of the teachers who watch you completely understand!
Yup! This is one of the most challenging things in being a teacher - staying healthy because even if we want to just stay at home, sleep and rest out our colds and flu - WE JUST CANT. Making sub plans is bad enough (don't get me wrong, I love teaching and making lessons and stuff but sub plans are such hard work) so I'd rather go to school and teach. Kudos to you!
I hope you feel better, I know during my internship I felt awful when I would get sick in the classroom. I love you so much and I hope you have an amazing week 😊
