What I find so impressive about this rendition is that Neil is able to play the melody, the base, and at the same time maintain the ‘pulse’ inside of this tune which would normally be carried by other instruments. And this still sounds completely like an Archer arrangement with the same grace notes and rolls that Neil will occasionally include. This must have been a challenge; it’s marvelous. Bravo, Neil!
When I was a child I listened all these nice melodies in the radio but although I studied music formally, I've never could play these melodies in such a simple and joyful way. Thanks for share, great video. ❤👍🙏
That was beautiful. That's one of those songs where the chord voicings are so specific that it's not so easy to get the vocal melody to sit right, but you nailed it. I've played it for years singing to it and I know the music note for note, but always had a weird time playing it as a strict instrumental and using the full singing melody against those chordings. Nice work. Talk about a song with a ton of chords and changes. That song is so well constructed. There's no cheese to that song!
Excellent as all you play. I would like to see this song and also What a feeling (Irene Cara) in ITunes Store. Thank you and greetings from Mexico where we’re fighting to remove our worst president in decades!! 😢
Neil, love your piano playing. I print your music from MusicNotes and love your take on "Rocket Man" and many others. Be interested to see what you could do with "Funeral for a Friend" and "Love Lies Bleeding".
Hi Neil, can you tell me what kind of headphones you use and what you think of them? I am looking for a decent pair withoput breaking the bank. I am using a Roland FP-90X keyboard. Thanks for the great music most Sundays. God bless you my friend.
