He did NOT ruin the song. If you didn't know, a cover is their own take on the song. They do it THEIR way, hence COVER. This guy is incredible and I watch all his videos. Mr. Taylor here has talent and a lot of passion for what he is doing. Don't be rude for no reason. Enjoy a musician. I know I do. And thank you, Dylan, for sharing your beautiful work to us. We NEED more views. (On a side note I think I contributed at least 25,000 of those views. This cover is the best I have seen in a very long time. This beat out "Somebody That I Used To Know" and I STILL watch that as much as I can.)
Your videos are unreal. One of the most talented drummers I've seen. However you do nothing for other drummers self esteem... I feel well below average now 😂
wow what energy! There are drummers who mindlessly slam the drums, drummers who are overly refined and finessed, and then you who really uses that kit as an instrument to convey pure energy with clever, appropriate beats. Love it!

Hey Dylan, I'm very pleased to hear this kind of New Era drumming, like I'm calling it actually. Since I began listening to this kind of playing, I feel much more excitement while playing myself. I've studied at a conservatory near my hometown, Jazz.. but I prefer this so much more. Very powerfull, nice/rough edge and tight as hell. I'd like to upload some vids as wel, but I haven't got any equipment for that, unfortunately.. Keep up the good work mate! Cheers
Weather this was live one take all the ay through or not it doesn't matter. This guy is really talented. Saying he isn't because it might be pieced together (which Idt it is) is like saying any artist to record ever isn't good because they didn't do it all perfect in the first take. Quit being ignorant and appreciate this guys talent he is sharing with us. Great video Dylan Taylor.
Amazing bro!!! Love your drum remixes!!!! For all those who say that it is "overplayed" thats the idea, thats a drum remix... overplaying a song so that it becomes cooler ;) if you don't like it overplaying just don't watch drum remixes, and let enjoy people who like them

Have you seen his video "somebody that i used to know dubstep something something something" Its pretty amazing. I agree he may not be the best (my personal favorite is Travis from Blink 182) but Dylan is definently up there amongst the best.
first off...hahahah. my remark is callous. did you even read my commend bud? "some good grooves". I basically said only good things and you come up with opinions that my commend is "bitter" and "callous". step one...read for content as opposed to skimming through...step two...take a chill pill, relax, and simmer down...step three...it isn't about better in this case. I made a comment about his interpretation. Unless time, rhythm, and other musical elements are off, there isn't really a "better". anything else I missed?

One of the best covers ive seen. That was more than drumming that was insanely clever and to keep all those fills in time... inspirational makes me want to stop working so hard and get back on my kit!!

It's too much for me. Too much going on. It takes away from the song. Almost conflicting. It's good drumming. Really good drumming Obviously, but man It takes to much away from the music. It's too complex for this song. I'm my opinion. Still Kudos! lol
indeed it's too much for the song, that would be chaos if the drummer played that live lol. But for a drum cover/remix, it's perfect, all the fills, patterns played, his originality is just amazing and entertaining! If he had stayed true to the song, wouldn't be interesting as and I will just go listen to the original version. Love the fact it's a simple beat and he bring his originality into it which makes it more complex and still sounds good and not overwhelming.

It is a fierce competition between Dylan and Luke. BUT, I think that Dylan rules in his genre of music and Luke rules in his. Two different distinct styles and both equally great. Props to Dylan. This cover was bad ass!!

You can definitely tell these are live. Look in the shots, you can SEE cameramen recording live. Plus it's SOOOOOOOO hard to re-record video over the audio to get it perfect. It's easier to do it in one shot live. Don't be too quick to hate. Awesome job, Dylan. Keep em coming.
I'm not a drummer at all but someone explain this to me. Is this guy extremely talented or can this type of skill be learned overtime? This is fucking incredible. If I can do this shit in a few yrs I'm buying a drum kit tonight.
Let the haters hate man, keep being you and doing your thing! Lot's more people love what you do compared to the haters! Just remember most people that love it don't seem to respond like a good car...you never see all the good experiences just the bad. I think people just get jelly and want to hate and drag people down cause they wish they had what you do and thats some mad skillz!
as far as i know a technical drummer that can incorperate more into one space and sound clean at the same time is alot better than one that solely sticks to the grid.
I just watched this for the first time today and wow insane. now Dylan were you in the drum line in marching band because this style has a similar sound as that.
