Sometimes you younger people don't realize that before cable tv, social media and easy travel, all we had was the radio and the occasional appearance on a show like Ed Sullivan. So music meant so so much and the lyrics reflected our experiences. So much talent back then.
So much, an embarrassment of riches music-wise. And because we only had radio and the occasional TV show, we new every song, every note, every lyric. Just the first few bars of a 60s or 70s tune, and you instantly knew the song and who sang it. Today's music, sadly, not at all. But boy, it makes you SO thankful you came of age when you did, doesn't it??

Frankie Valli knew how to make his songs short and sweet ,so they got a lot of on air play. Leaving you yearning for more. His audience spanned from age 6 to106. Every one ,whatever race creed or color loved his music. They deserved to have a Broadway show about them called Jersey Boys What a legend. In his 80s now and still singing.Everybody ain't able.
Have you heard "Can't Take My Eyes Off You?" Edit: Maybe "You're Just Too Good to Be True?" *You're just to good to be true, can't take my eyes off of you. You'd be like heaven to touch, I wanna hold you so much. At long last love has arrived, and I thank God, I'm alive...?" That's another beautiful song by Frank Valli and the Four Seasons. This one is way above board as well. You might like "Who Loves You," (think that's the name) there's a video with them recording it in studio or appearing to be...Sorry, I didn't check what you've done. @@jeffcobb2734So many great songs. When I hear "Who Loves You," I find myself singing it in my head for days. I've loved "My Eyes Adored You" and "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You," since I was a non-cynical romantic. Still love the songs though. So glad I'm older for once; I got to enjoy living here and hearing actual music all the time. Hanging out, MTV, radio, tapes...so tired of electronic trap being placed into all the music, the questionable dancers (twerking, etc., genders??), and the auto-tune. I even liked "Beauty School Dropout!" Ha ha. Kinda funny.

Harri I feel that song deep down in my soul. I have “adored” this group since I was a young teen…maybe even earlier. They were my first concert at the age of 16 on Steel Pier in Atlantic City. I was in heaven! I’ve even been over Barnegat Bridge and Bay…in Barnegat NJ which gives this song extra meaning…and yes it brings back beautiful memories of a very young love. Also I’m from Philly but now live in Lititz, Lancaster County Pa…the home of Clair Brothers which does sound for concerts around the world…they owe their success to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons who were doing a local tour. The band ended up without a sound man so a small local sound company stepped in…Clair Brothers. Frankie was so impressed…thought their band never sounded better…and asked Clair Bros to tour with them. This sound company so much a part of our town and Lititz is predicted to become the “Hollywood of Sound” as they continue to grow. If you look up Clair Bros in Wikipedia you can get more info…but their success was all due to this awesome group of guys from New Jersey that has a sound like no other. If you ever cross the pond and are in this area let me know…I’ll fix you up with a tour of their phenomenal facility…❤️
This was a good choice, Harri😁 won’t begin to tell You any 4 Seasons, because ANY 4Seasons IS GOOD! Loved growing up with them as my life’s soundtrack right up there with the BeeGees, Boston, ELO, KANSAS. Enjoy them all with eager anticipation! Be Blessed.
I believe it was written by Kenny Nolan Who also wrote “ I like dreaming”. Both beautiful songs. Saw Frankie perform this song in Pittsburgh this year. Always one of My favorite songs. It reminds of a special girl in My Life. He did a great job this year at an advanced age of 68. Brings tears to My Eyes yet after many years.
I still have times when I think that I took the wrong "fork in the road" when it came to romance. I was very shy in school. This song brings back all of those memories, and good music encompasses every emotion a person can have. There is always a song that does what you describe Harri, no matter what the occasion. Thanks for the memories, but at my age now, I have to put away the "what if" moments. Take care Harri!

You have to listen to Who Loves You by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and see if this song is still your favorite. It might still be but "Who Loves You" is still a must listen.
Glad you enjoy him! I saw the Broadway show in NYC in 2012, Jersey Boys. It was great, hearing all those Four Seasons from the '60s songs that I grew up with....
I feel so lucky to have been alive through this era of music - I was born in '47 so I had the benefit of hearing music from the '40s, '50s, '60s and '70s. Whenever I turned on the radio there was all this fabulous music playing. It was heavenly - such incredibly good stuff. Memories a plenty, when i was in my teens i always had a radio cassette player with me in school everywhere, this reminds me of walking to and from school singing my head off, simple yet beautiful medley and lyrics….a classic story song.

I had forgotten that he sang this one. What a wonderful showcase for his iconic voice. No wonder Barry Gibb was happier to have him sing Grease than to keep it for himself.
Frankie singing and his good friend Bob Gaudio, who wrote many of the Four seasons hit songs plus was an original member. He did not write this great song, but he wrote many of them.What a team .
I remember hearing this tune in the mid 70's as a teenager. I always thought it sounded beautiful. I hadn't heard in a while. It reached into your heart, as it did mine many years ago. Lovely!

Most of us had someone we really liked or fell in love with but for some reason or another it never worked out! Happened to me and by the way you reacted it happened to you too. I look back and it makes me sad, but also makes me smile remembering her and wondering if ever thinks of me!!
