I can definitely see how this links to someone with suicide or whatever but being in a fake relationship for 6 years and hearing this hits really fucking hard
You're definitely right, I only found them in '23, and I've yet to find an acquaintance who already listens to em & finding somebody to talk about the band is like the second thing I do when I find a band who has an existing body of consistent work that I missed, somehow
I feel you. Lost my mom 2 years ago now. I’m not going to say it gets easier, but you learn to live with the pain. All you can do is live YOUR best life to honor her. All you gotta do is do good deeds in life and do it all with her in mind.
Brendan Walter is such an amazing director. I was the set medic on a 9 day panic at the disco shoot for 5 different music videos, all of which directed by Brendan. Fucking brilliant guy. And so kind and humble!
Heard everything on the first floor Where they said you were rushed From your front door So please tell me where Ran up the stairs in a heartbeat, Where I read off your name from a time sheet So please tell me where What an awful curse to see you at your worst So come home now (I'm not fine, I'm not what I say I am) (I've lost hope, I've lost hope in everything) With your tiny frame I swore I'd block the pain So come home now Lost everything with a mistake Thinking back all the times that you had faith So please tell me where If I could stand up taller than the tallest of the trees Would you treat me like a big brother? I gave you all the time I had But you wanted more, I did my best so why bother?
I love this song it is amazing and makes me cry. I don't know wtf this video was though. It literally has nothing to do with the actual meaning of the song but...okay i guess.
It's hard to tell just by ear. If you look at the video, the lead singer//guitarist is using "standard" way in forming bar chords (index + ring and pinky) instead of just barring the entire fret with one finger (which would indicate a "drop" tuning). So it's mostly likely in some sort of "standard" tuning (although it's very likely a down-tuned tuning though). My best guess would be: D Standard, Db Standard, or possibly even C standard, I'm not 100% positive though. :P
Joel Pelham I also saw that video too! Think the commenter said it was between Drop C, or Db/C# Standard (which, you could easily play their songs depending on your tuning preferences are). I would play it Drop C myself because I play in Drop tuning much more than Standard-Downtunings. Best of luck!
I feel the song is about taking care and wanting to do the best you can for somebody who's suicidal or suffers from mental illness. It would make sense if you really read into the lyrics. As for the video I got no clue! Haha
