You should make those molds of yours by 3d printing them. The famous Crying baby mask maker uses 3D printers to make molds for his mask. His name is Landon Meier. You should contact him, and see which printers he uses.

In fact this is something I’ve been doing! I have a project video on the topic planned, just waiting for the sponsor to be ready to start. 👍

hmm nobody is showing a textured version. But with what I am seeing so for I'm not sure this will replace my photogrammetry setup with cross polarization.

Sorry, I just automatically scan without textures most of the time because I'm usually scanning monotone sculptures. If you're happy with the results you're getting with your current setup, no need to change it.

Is there a video that shows method and software used for using photogrammetry on small objects? I generate point clouds of the ground but would like to model small stuff like old motorcycle parts that are very hard to find. Thank you!!

Oh no Jasper sorry that happened to you, You know I have had similar things like that happen on the outsides of the skulls I have removed from our molds. A thin plaster layer along certain areas outside of the skulls that touch the silicone would stay softer. I always chalked it up to the water in the plaster gathering along the surfaces. Or maybe I didn't mix correctly. I guess it could also be the release agent or soapy water etc. Always enjoy your videos good seeing you.

It's never happened to me before, so I'm not stressing about it. Normally my attitude is to fix a problem before anyone notices, but it happened that the problem made the scanning more relevant!

SO sorry the original mold was a headache. The scan looks beautiful though. Love the creature design. Well done sir!

Another reason of having the split power cable is that they can sell the optional accessory that costs as much as the scanner itself to provide full portability 🥲

Maybe so. I would think since both ports are USB that you could probably use a standard USB battery power supply, though. Worth testing to see... although I guess you'd still need to carry a laptop to run the program.
