Great breakdown - surprised you only place them fourth considering the caliber of players they’ve brought in and retained . What are your predictions for this seasons standings?
Hi Cameron, thanks for the comment & feedback. Yeah i like the look of the team, and i have placed them 4th, but i think that speaks to the calibre of this league now. There are really excellent teams, that i think are the 4th best. I will got through my other breakdowns over the next few weeks, But i think the Giants are the favourites to repeat the treble. And i like the look of the Steelers so far & the Flames... But predictions are made to be broken :) If the Devils do better, then that will be exciting!
I’m not totally competent on the ins and out of the team just yet, having only been following icehockey and the devils for a year. I’m really getting into it though. In my laymans analysis, last season we just seemed to be unable to finish. There was some serious pace at times, but just didn’t translate into any goals. They’d smash down the offensive zone time and again, and come away with nothing. After watching the Amien game last weekend, i’m hoping some more discipline is kept throughout (although Amien were dirty bastards at times) Looking forward to it all developing though!
Hiya mate, i love that this game brings new fans together. It's great to hear from you, and you are much closer to the team than i am, so i appreciate the analysis. Hopefully they have found some depth guys that can finish this season, guys like Barrow, and Arniel. And hopefully Waller can take another step, he has a great shot. Cannot wait for the season to start!
Thanks for the review. You'll need to amend your line prediction though as only 5 Brits are allowed to dress for any game this season so one will have to sit out a game
Hiya mate, thanks for the feedback. Always good to hear from the fans. So in terms of roster regulations, there is not a cap on home grown players, just a cap on Non-homegrown. So the on ice roster per game is 20 players (2 Goalies, 18 skaters). The maximum non-homegrown players is 15. So you have to dress at least 5 homegrown players. However, you can opt for less imports if you wish as the Devils have. You can see this just by looking at the Devils roster. If they could only dress 5 brits, then they couldn't even ice a full team with their current roster, as they only have 20 everyday players, and more than 5 of those are brits.
I think he can be useful, but i don't think he has been put in a good position in recent years. I think maybe the thinking from the Devils, is Mosey can use his speed/skating to get back and cover for Batch's lack of mobility.
I am just really interested to see how this is going to work. They still have firepower for sure, and i have no doubt they will be competitive. But, i am not sure if its enough to take on a Belfast or a Sheffield.
