Their loss to Seattle earlier this year will keep them out...that makes them 3 games back, not 2. I love how they're playing, but they need to win out to have a chance.

Considering they play the Vikings again? No.

They’re not going to the playoffs. They’ve got less than a 3% chance of making it. This is still a bad football team. Jesus. Fans need to understand how the playoffs work. 4 division winners go, regardless of record. Right now the Vikings are 10-2, the Lions 5-7. Do the math. The Lions need to win out and the Vikings lose out for them to even be in the division winner mix. And even then, they need to have a better SOS. In a nutshell: it’s not happening. So that’s one of 4 spots they won’t win. After, there are 3 wild cards. The most important factor in them, after record, is the head to head matchup. Right now Dallas is WC 1. They’re a 9-3 team. And have head to head on the Lions. Meaning they need to go 0-5 the rest of the way and the Lions 5-0 for them to have a chance. Seeing if both teams were 10-7 clubs, Dallas gets in on the merit of head to head wins. Not happening. Seattle is WC2. They are 7-5. They have head to head to head. To eliminate Detroit from WC 2, they need to go no worse than 3-2 while Detroit must go better than 3-2. That’s not going to happen either, Seattle will qualify over them based on head to head. Finally, that brings it back to WC3. The ONLY reason Detroit isn’t eliminated completely is because they have head to head on New York. Pretty shoddy chances there. But even then, Detroit STILL is -2 games on the Giants. And their tie is going to give them an advantage no matter what. Detroit needs to win 2 and tie 1 or win 3 and New York needs to lose out 3 to even give them a chance. Bottom line: ITS NOT HAPPENING. They’re not realistically in contention here. They’re just not mathematically eliminated. You need to learn the difference.
