I dont think signing Leon before he goes to UFA is that much of a priority. He's going to wait to see what McDavid does next summer and then I think they'll sign them both if they want to stay.

With McDavid coming to this situation next year, I’m not letting Leon get to July.1, 2025 without being signed or traded. I love the player and want him signed but I’m not leaving it to free agency. As an organization you cannot afford to lose this player with no return.

It depends on what they want. If they wanna win the cup Edmonton is as good as anywhere. I mean roll the dice on a half dozen franchises but Edmonton is in the mix right now. Largely because of Leon and Connor but this year was especially good and they know it because their play is bolstered by a real team, with steady coaching and prospects. But if they want the money. If they wanna live somewhere else. If they dont get along with the team or hate the travel or wanna live by the ocean etc etc.then offering 20 wont get them.
