Today I bought some of the oldest and slowest GPU/Graphics cards to find out.. Can they still run Minecraft? And how old is too old?
This video is similar to the previous video where I tried to find out if, and can the oldest GPU run Minecraft? And can Amazon's CHEAPEST Gaming PC run Minecraft, and when I tried to run Minercraft on an $8 and $1 CPU! Oh yeah and it ran at 30 fps @720p, remember that. Xbox One and PS4 also ran the game at 30 fps, but at 1080p, PS5 and Xbox Series was the first generation of consoles to run GTA V at 60 fps.

6:03: Technically that does have HDMI, they just made it a mini port since the I/O didn't have enough space to put on a full sized HDMI. GPU's with the mini HDMI were sold with mini HDMI to HDMI converters and the port functioned at the same speeds as a normal HDMI port.

It is because he prbhas a very Powerfull CPU and CPU carries some of the Job. In my country some youtubers oarred a 3090 ti with a 2 buck cpu. It had over 60 fps on Max settings in a lot of games because the GPU did most of the job

The reason why all these terrible looking Graphics Cards are doing surprisingly much better than we expected is because the PC that this guy is using has the best CPU and Ram alongside these GPUs and since Minecraft is a CPU-Based game it ran so smoothly although the GPU was bad.

The person does some pretty shady bullcrap. I say that as I'm consistently running Minecraft on a PowerPC G4 paired with a Radeon 9700 Pro, while seeing clearly that it runs in a way that makes you forget the hardware's 20 years old. If the PowerBook G4 runs Minecraft to that you don't realize you play it on long since discontinued tech, the guy is definitely doing something weird with those GPUs. A 256MB card should not be maxed out by Minecraft. Yes, the GPU core may be limiting the card, but if you hit the VRAM limit of 256, there's a memory leak somewhere, as I've seen GTA V run on a GT 210 with 256MB and that card was just meant to be a display adapter.

Both of you two wrong, Minecraft is very heavy cpu bound game. So if you have like a rtx 4070 and you're rocking an jurassic old cpu its gonna handicapped the gpu. So the reason why he's having 900+ frames on gtx 950 cuz the cpu is too strong for the gpu and thats what you called "gpu bound" scenario. Don't expect getting a same frame if u have slow cpu.

theres more to a gpu than cores and ram. the gtx 950 may look similar to a GT 1030 on paper, but there's a lot more to be seen, like TFLOPS (how many trillions of operations per second a GPU can do) ROPS (allows more pixes to be drawn on screen and off screen) TMUs (allows a GPU to draw more textures at once) all of which the 950 has significantly more of.

All of the cards except the last two can technically run shaders. Even the gt 710 can get 30-40 fps with lite shaders.

I'm sure if you stick with an older OS like Windows 7 and XP with the G100 and run older version of Minecraft along with 7th gen games, you should get much better performance. But anything older than that is going into Retro territory or outdated territory.

To be honest, I've been using the GTX 950 paired with an intel i5 6500 for over 10 years, and it has done wonders (of course I had upped the specs just a little bit recently) The only draw backs are video quality since it only has 2gb of vram, and is like the border minimum of gaming quality, but was still able to run 1920x1080 fine, except some newer games needed to be run on the lowest settings to make for the most performance and breathing room for the GPU. I had to switch of course since 2GB was uhh.. hm, yknow. Not enough. xD

you could've at least done NVIDIA's flagship at the time, instead of the lowest end stuff you could find from that year (the gt series is basically good for word documents/light web browsing, not gaming, the gtX series is made for gaming, their flagship cards until the RTX series of cards released)

Minecraft is a CPU intensive game so GPU doesn't really matter But that doesn't mean you gotta buy a bad graphics card

The gtx 1030 still runs good at ddr5 and all the old gpus in this video the gpus are getting cpubotelneckt by your I9-14900k and i think you can buy an older gpu then the g100.

This test isn't quite fair. Minecraft's Rendering or the genuine rendering also relies on how strong your CPU is. If you have a kick-ass GPU but bad CPU and vise versa you won't get a lot of frames. Next time test it with a CPU released in all of these card's eras

I can confirm this because my GTX 960 gets far less FPS than the GTX 950 in the video (90-210 FPS), reason being that I have an i5 6th gen CPU which is a very slow piece of shit of a CPU.
