Will it last all day? That depends on what you are doing with it and the motor and boat weight. Just positioning for bass? All day and then some. Trolling for Kokanee at 1.35 mph, most of the day. Trolling at 2.5 mph, about 3 hours. The above figures are from a 1200 lb 16' Smokercraft boat with a 12volt 55 lb thrust Motorguide. I upgraded to a single 200 ah this year, all day; yes indeed.

I hate to break this to you, but that chart isn't worth the paper it's printed on. If you have access to a clamp meter, or buy/install a shunt, you will quickly realize that the information given in that manual ONLY pertains to the resting voltage after the battery is charged. For background, I build lithium iron-phosphate batteries from raw cells, install the BMS myself, and measure capacity over time. The voltages listed in your manual are never going to be a good way of telling you how much power you used during a given day. They are very good batteries, and they do have roughly twice the usable amp-hours of a lead-acid or AGM, but never rely on voltage to tell you the state of charge for a lithium iron-phosphate battery...it just doesn't work that way. (Look up charge/discharge curve for this battery chemistry and you'll see why.)

I believe it. But on the other hand. If we are measuring performance at a Low Price Point. It's holding up and working well for the price of 1 high-quality SLA battery.

@@JesseMcMillanFishing - Yeah, it's great battery, for sure...they typically deliver way more power than you'll use in a full day of fishing. You can often get two full days. Another bonus is when you do need to charge them up, they do so much faster than any lead-acid chemistry. Anyone buying new batteries for their trolling motor application (or electronics, for that matter) would be money ahead to avoid any lead-acid batteries. Leave those for cranking over the big motor, which is the one place they still have an advantage over LFP.

@jasonbroom7147 I agree 100%. I deal with lithium at my shop on golf carts. I try to sell lithium over SLA because of the benefits. Not to mention, there cheaper then they were 2 years ago and alot better.

Awesome. I'm glad I could help. I'm still very impressed on how long they last and hold a charge.

No problem. When I was looking for a battery, I was watching videos about them. So, I wanted to make my own review video to help someone out. So far so good 👍

Did ur outboard charge it on the way back to the ramp?

I'm using this battery for my trolling motor only. I charge it when I get home. It does last all day with 15+ MPH winds. Normally i still have 75% SOC left.

What kind of charger do u use for ur lithium trolling motor batt.?
@JesseMcMillanFishing
@JesseMcMillanFishing 6 месяцев назад
@shanebutcher5627 I use the NOCO Genuis charger. They make them for onboard and off. They charge Lead Acid, AGM and Lithium.

I’m not sure what kind of trolling motor you have but leaving any trolling motor wide-open like that isn’t going to last all day on a single 100 amp hour battery. Just your basic 12 V Minnkota power drive has a max draw of 50 amps. That means that battery would only last two hours with that trolling motor wide-open. Even if you were only using the trolling motor at half power, that’s only giving you four hours. There’s no way that trolling motor kept your boat in place all day long in 20 mile an hour winds and you only used 25% of your battery.

Your math is 100% correct. But I was not holding the button on constant. I was on and off to maintain a fishing position. 🎣

@@JesseMcMillanFishing all good 👍 i’m about to buy my first boat so I’ve been watching all of the trolling motor videos about batteries I can find. But I am mainly going to be trolling for catfish which will require constant use of the battery. Just trying to make a good decision.

@xSteve1983x Depending on your setup. If you're running a 12v trolling motor, then I would look at more than 1 and run them parallel. If it helps, I'm going to be reviewing another Lithium 12v battery. RoyPow Lithium. I sell RoyPow Lithium for golf carts, and they finally reached back out to me to let me use and abuse there 12V 100AH battery. I purchased LI-TIME and have been happy with it. But will give an honest review on the RoyPow after using it. Thanks for the support and good luck 👍

Slight correction on your assumption; that motor will draw 50 amps going from a dead stop to whatever speed it can attain in the given wind/current conditions, but once the motor is "spun up", if you put a clamp meter on your main positive, you'll find it drops down to about 35 amps for sustained draw. I was very surprised when I found that out.
