The Cycplus Cube is a super tiny battery-powered electric bike pump that is compatible with both Shrader and Presta Valves. But the big question is, can it replace C02 Cartridges? Stay tuned as I test if the Cycpus Cube against CO2 in a few tests. Big thank you to Cycplus for sending one of these out to me.

Thanks for the test. I do disagree that you will offset the cost, that would be heavily dependant on how many cartridges you use in a period of time. So dependant on how much you ride and what terrain. I ride very little rocky terrain and haven’t used any cartridges in 4 years, and it’s questionable that a little pump like that, that gets very hot would even last 4 years. It looks like pump tech is advancing quickly though, and I might consider one in a few years.

I hardly ever have a flat thankfully, even in my rocky area. The cost of the Cube is very close to the cost of 15 25-gram cartridges at my local LBS. So I don't think it's that unreasonable of a claim. I think I lose them more often than I use them lol

i've used the Cycplus Pro (like this one but w/ a LED display) for a while. i use it for top offs mostly. it's great for that. i do like using the supplied flexible tube as well because my mtn bike's presta valve can get super hot when connected directly to the pump w/out the short tube. for full tire inflations, i use my floor pump. for frequent top offs, this is much better (easier to use and less wasteful) than CO2 cartridges.

To be fair they don't have to do the job better than a co2 can, but just do the same job. It's not as fast as co2, clearly. But for any regular user and not in a timed race, it would be perfect. The presta/shrader valve change, is more or less irrelevant too, the co2 doesn't have that anyways? And you don't run 2 different valves on your bike, right? ;) 31psi compared to 47psi... and 20psi vs 25 on the mtb. You could probably fill 2 tires with it, although still not as fast as co2 even with a cartridge swap for second tire. 80$ is not too bad, but that will leave quite a lot customers going for cheaper alternatives. I don't know what the manufacturing cost is for this, but overall maybe better to have a lower margin of profit and have all the customers rather than only selling a thousand units and then everyone else buying a 40$ copy. At 50 i would buy without even thinking about it. At 60 i would clearly buy it. At 70 i would think about how badly i actually need it. At 80 i'm just fine using my trusty double shot pump :) Nice vid, would have been nice to see some time comparisons.

Is it 97grams fully charged or not charged?

But can it inflate 2 tyres in 1 charge?

Depends on the tire and what pressure you like to run but I think so

If you feel bad for throwing away 3 co2 cartridges, you should really feel bad for using a lithium battery instead of a handpump. A decent minipump can last you decades, that thing won't. I really don't get it, how many flats are you getting that it's important how much effort it takes? And I'd rather have a minipump that always works in my backpack than another thing that will run out of battery.

Throwing away the co2 catridges is two fold. Its a waste of co2 catridges and its also a waste of money.
