I broke 9 left ribs and had a pneumothorax and hemothorax 5 days after vingegaard... I'.m recovering.. And train on my bike... I love Vingegaard and believe he would win without the accident... But There is no way that in 5 weeks he is ready to go against Pogacar
He will have the best doctors in the world, he will regain fitness very quickly provided all his injuries heal properly. I think he will start but maybe he will fade in week 3 like pog did last year.
You only regain fitness throughout training,no doctor in the world „can give you fitness“! 5 weeks of training shall be enough to compete in the biggest race of the world?! That’s just ridiculous 😂
I think he should have taken a rain check this year and concentrated on full recovery. He was phenomenal coming second so shortly after his injuries but I think the toll on him could have a detrimental effect on him now achieving full fitness. I hope with time and a lot of self care he will be up full speed to challenge hopefully a fully fit Pogi next year. Personally I don’t think anyone could have beaten Pogi this year. He is on another level and trained so hard with a very much improved team UAE to overcome the weaknesses that cost him the crown the previous two years.
Have to ask your self. Two months to heal lung puncture. Should he have waited another year. Did he hurt his lungs more. So he will never be the same. Big Question. Plus once you have hard scar tissue in lungs when it flexes by the flexible part ( normal part) it probably can tear. Not able to flex normal. Further growing.
For all you idiots hating on lance in the comments The top 40 riders he competed against when winning the Tour de France, also tested positive and were caught guilty of cheating, within those years During the years lance won, roughly 54% of the riders tested positive roids/peds Today only about 3% test positive for roids/peds This is to say, lance was on roids beating other guys on roids IF EVERYONE IS CHEATING, THEN NO ONE IS CHEATING Where the unfair advantage? Nearly 60% of the died in lances time were on EPO just him HATERS
If half of my class is cheating in a test and I do the same, I’m not cheating. Sounds dumb, right? That’s because it is. Just because others are cheating, won’t take away the fact that I am cheating. He was a cheater, end of the story. There’s nothing to hate on Lance, he completely lost all respect and credibility in cycling, I don’t think anyone is jealous of him nor is it hating to say that he’s cheating, which he HIMSELF agrees on by the way.
I don't care honestly. I don't hate him. It was just not entertaining. And then the only year (2003) it would be great. Then biggest contender crashes. I remember it like it was yesterday. Ow yeah I'm talking about Joseba Beloki.
Vingegaard is better than Pogačar (for a Tour de France). With that injury there's a good chance the 2024 TDF will be a more fair battle. However I might be wrong because Pogi seems more resilient than last year and I think the UAE will be waiting for the whole VLB this year.
You can’t even ventilate properly with fractured ribs. He will be feeling rib pain for at least 3 weeks after fracture. His collarbone fracture will be stable. Yes he can get on a bike but how effectively can re regain condition. The human species physiologically detrains so rapidly it’s depressing. Race horses and canine athletes maintain conditioning far longer than humans. Lance is right there are medical things (legal) that can be done like regional anesthetic injections around his fractures to allow him to train earlier but it’s still a race. I don’t know if Vingegaard or Evenpoel or even Roglic who may have injured a knee will be ready in time. What are the odds of 3 of the 4 top GC riders in the world being taken out in one crash?
We allways get these "Metteo... Kuss.. " and so on. And the n the Tour starts, and it becomes very clear they are not near the level it takes to win the Tour. At best they can hope to be the best or second best leiutnant for the top contender. As contenders themselves they would be 5-10 at best
@@joerenner8334 That's why you train at altitude. so your bio passport shows the elevated HC.Then a few weeks in you get a BB and BAMN .You're the fastest fish monger
@@francescomancetti8327 Oh whaaa. Call the whaammmbulance. I didn't read the newspaper. Go cry somewhere else. Jonas is in Tignes, France. At least get your facts right. Mallorca doesn't even have mountains high enough for altitude training. Yo'd know that if you'd climb Puig Major. It's less than 5,000ft and Mallorca isn't even part of France. Double fail. As high as that peak is, it's close to the Port de Soller. Do you have a failboat there?
@@Swampster70 Where did I say Mallorca was in France loool ? I said he wasn't in France can you read ? He was spotted in Mallorca when I wrote the first comment, he took pictures with people, there is proof on instagram. Damn people are idiots these days
nobody doubts him its just that when someone is coming back from a bad crash there is usually a long time before the rider is 100% again and its tough as hell especially for his first competition back to be le tour i hope hes 100% because he and pogi would have a great battle with the way pogi is riding
No one is counting out jonas but the odds are against him this time. Remember pogi last year when he injured his wrist. He couldn't train outside for almost 4 weeks, only indoors, and his condition was exposed already in the 1st week when he was dropped but he fought hard just to be in the podium in the 3rd week. Now compare it to jonas whose injuries are much worse, i think lance is right there 5 weeks is not enough for him to prepare. Jonas will be exposed in the 1st week if they try to test him on hilly days especially if the other teams see weakness.
90% jonas is still a very strong opponent, maybe even better than pogi. He's a better rider than pogi, he beat him last 2 times, did one of the best TT in history, pogi can have off days. I hope we will have a nice duel with pogi in yellowi n paris
I will not watch any video or post where that traitor to drug-free cycling, Armstrong -- thankfully stripped of his TDF "cheats" -- has any participation.
