Can VINTAGE Yugioh Packs Pull MORE VALUE Than Brand New Packs? 

Older packs have a higher ceiling but are less likely to break even or plus. But for me it doesn’t matter because the nostalgia and the rush of excitement for an old school pull are things that modern yugioh just can’t replicate

Honestly, all I know is the old school and I am standing by it . I’m sure the new packs have more value but the OG’s have those few memorable monsters that will always be on top.

You should try what Leonhart has done recently and add the " value opened" when you show the price of the cards you pull. So a counting amount that goes up for each pack you open from each side.

I honestly prefer the old school packs, where you are not guaranteed a foil. It makes opening packs much more interesting.

New cards may win in $ but older cards/packs will always remain in our heads for the nostalgia and memories that we made with them.

Age of overlord just has so much base value without getting into high chase rarities

So to me this is really the biggest issue yugioh truly has faced for a while, for collectors at least, as beyond buying special sets that I saw or seemed to have ‘potential’ cool new rarities for nostalgic cards, the likelihood of pulling those rarities for most people, almost nonexistent, and I wasn’t willing to open unlim packs during the boom whereas i was buying the 2017 reprints that still did have ok value, and the same reprints, for $7 from Walmart all day long in ‘20-‘21 until they too, were bought up en masse, to drive the prices up for THOSE reprints, etc. so, yugioh, really just struggles with being truly insanely ridiculous where reprints, are more expensive at times then original unlims, new 1st ed reprints, are sometimes and often the most expensive, and the high rarity stuff, well, get ready to start to shave off organs if you want to try to have fun pulling them, ain’t going to happen 😅😂 then, if you turn to the secondary for those high rarities, also had to prepare myself, to be slaughtered😂 again, these days this games market, is starting to make like 2% more logical sense though it’s still insane, but that’s yugioh in general, at the very least there seems to be some attempt to make it make coherent sense for people to follow, as is the case for the 2 main TCGs (Pokémon / Mtg) where at least for the collectors and players there, while yes there’s some cards and sets/languages things are insane and it does not follow coherent logic, their markets at least can make some sense to a squirrels mind 😂like it’s all worthless cardboard anyways, that people spend ridiculous amounts of imaginary money on, what’s really bothered me with this game is just how literally ass backwards the market was, especially for being a ‘top 3’ game 😂

I think it all depends on the cards you pull, I'm going for the new packs. Better chance of higher rarities in those, although if you hit the money cards in the old sets that could really turn the tables!

New packs got more staples, and archtypes seeing use, so value will be higher. However, old packs do have those single cards that can be worth alot, new packs are just more consistent in that smaller value.

You should try legacy packs but original vs each year reprints came out up until 25th anniversary if that makes sense.

Potential of older packs is better. And it is heart touching when nostalgia kicks in to you and new packs definitely have more value on average I think but old packs always have THE CARDS that can be worth more than any nowadays packs

With the newer packs having a larger share of meta cards in high rarities i imagine theres more value in the new packs. Unless you can get a grade 10 from a great old school pull

You should have added Ra yellow mega pack or a similar reprint pack for old school to compare. Rarity will kill it

The newer cards that have some value are in higher rarity and it’s really hard to pull them, but the older cards are having value in every card even the common cards.

1st ed old packs might be worth more, especially those DM ones. But the meta relevant stuff will probably win it for the modern stuff.

i think new due to being more playable the only way i see old school being more expensive is it being some really nostalgic cards that people pay big time

Overall I would say the newer packs have more value. But the potential of some individual cards in older packs I don't think will ever be matched. They will keep going up with time.

It all depends. The market will favor two things in my eyes. Competitive play and print quantity. Nostalgia def plays apart. I think both new and old can produce decent pulls. Just depends what you are looking for.

I think that especially for this choice of booster the recent ones offers more good cards since they are 5 of 6 month old. It's only a meta thing Btw the ancient golem is sick tho wp

New packs on average will generally be better. You get some extreme highs out of the older ones, but those are so rare.

Honestly it is cooler seeing the old packs but newer packs have more meta cards that see more play than an expensive card that's only used for display. Though I am being subjective, I would love to hear an opposing take.

I think overall, the old packs have more value, depending on the individual set. Some LOB and MR commons are a couple of dollars on their own. Unless you pull a big chase card from some of the new packs, you won't be able to compete. Again, this comes down to the individual sets at the end of the day

The game has evolved so much that newer packs will always win these kinds of challenges. But personally, give me the 20 year old packs any day.

Ruxin I was thinking what if you did a search for the Ultimate Rare Odd Eyes Rebellion Dragon from Clash Of Rebellion and try and pull the Odd Eyes Rebellion Dragon in Secret and Ultimate.

Old school might not have as many of value but the ones that are of value are way higher than the new ones

I think the new packs will have more valuable cards. Most singles from older packs haven't significantly jumped in price over the years alongside the price of the packs themselves.

If the old school packs are first editions, then you’ll have some luck of trying to pull a $100+ card, but I’d take anything for anyone who likes to create decks.

The old packs are definitely very nostalgic. But the new packs will beat them. The new ones are what I wish the packs were as a kid!
