In this series I’m playing a season in every FIFA game from FIFA 14, all the way to FIFA 23, and today we’re playing FIFA 19. Instead of using a poll, I took the most commented team from the past 5 games, so this season we’re taking over Borussia Dortmund.
Look how young and exciting this Dortmund team is! Even better, FIFA 19’s servers are still online, so we can download the latest version of the team, meaning we have 88 Rated Reus, 91 Potential Sancho and £75m to spend.
With all this potential, we’ll be developing these five players as much as we can, our goal is to get at least two of them to 85 rated by the end of this season.
We’ll also try to break a record this season.We’re going to be ambitious, going for the most team goals in one season. Bayern hold the record with 101, but really i’ll just be happy if we can make it to 100. To be good enough to score 100 goals, I’ll need to play preseason to learn how the game plays.
FIFA 17 is still my favourite game so far, but the way players move is so much nicer than on FIFA 18. Passing is crisp, and you can score some bangers because volleys are overpowered as hell.
As always I’ll try to limit myself to signings the club actually makes in the near future, but this summer we’ll only make one. Just like last year cutscenes are a big part of transfers, take me back to the clipboard from FIFA 15.
Mats Hummels uses most of our transfer budget. He rejoined Dortmund a year later in real life, but we’ll pay whatever it takes to strengthen our defence. As we’re going for a goalscoring record, these three will be basically defending by themselves. Anyway, its time for the Bundesliga to begin, and a big game against Leipzig is first up.
