it is just breaking of EULA, and usually, this is not worth the time and money pursuing a lawsuit. plus, it is not as simple as a double click of an app, it requires skill to get a proper hackintosh working.

I just built one of these. NUC7i5, 32GB Crucial memory, 500GB Samsung Evo Plus. I built to whole computer for $510 (thanks to an open box NUC at $269). This computer is great for my kids to do their homework with. Yes, it's not a gaming beast, but that is not what I wanted (and neither is a Mac Mini BTW). It's a great little computer, and is completely stable on 10.14.6.

Using Unibeast ? Why not doing a Vanilla installation on a usb stick via the macOS terminal and then using Clover to inject your kext at bootloader ? Why a Vanilla installation you would ask ? Certainly because a vanilla setup implies that the OS itself remains relatively untouched - and that the bulk of the Hackintosh-related kexts, patches, etc are contained on the EFI partition. For all intents and purposes, a vanilla install's main partition is identical to that of an official Apple computer. 🙂

my hackintosh is more stable than my current mac laptop. RX580 + 7700k. Incredible stable setup, all USB-C working, thunderbolt all working, everything. Reboot, Sleep etc. everything works. I think your guys issue is due to you using TonyMacX86 which adds a lot of crap you don't need and isn't always up to date with it's kext etc. The less non-apple stuff you have, the more stable it will be.

This. Just use Vanilla + Clover and throw in some kexts and you're good to go most of the time.

@@Koffiato yep. I only use a specific kext for Gigabit Ethernet on my Asus mobo, other than that it's just the basic ones... USBInjectAll, WhateverGreen/Lilu, FakeSMC and AppleALC... next time I'll try VirtualSMC, but FakeSMC is super stable so for that reason I haven't replaced it.

DON'T use HFS+ (Mac OS Extended) if you're using an SSD. APFS is going to have superior performance and longevity.

Some issues with this video. 1 - DO NOT use Unibeast/Multibeast. Do a vanilla install. You are much better off in the long run. 2 - You do not need a Mac to create the install media. You can easily find instructions to make the installer using Windows. The install issues they had are almost certainly due to using the *beast method.

I built one of these. Crucial DDR4 2400MHz 16GB RAM, NUC8i5BEK (the one without the 2.5" bay) and a Crucial P1 500GB NVMe SSD. Boots macOS in seconds and for the most part (minus wifi/BT), it works perfectly. I use it in class all the time dualbooted with Windows. It can even play games pretty well too. Mine reboots and shuts down just fine though. And I did the exact same thing with the sticker :P

Did they elaborate how they solve the wifi+BT card incompatibility issue? That's key in building hackintoshes. I had to get a broadcom card for the ATX build but I don't see how to solve the problem for NUCs.

Yes, but you'd still have to buy the GPU adapter thing as well as a monitor. Still, very well done. Also would you be able to dual boot it? I think if you were able to dual boot it, the experience would be much better than anything a Mac could provide.

DO NOT USE UNIBEAST and especially DO NOT USE MULTIBEAST. They will break systems. Creater your own Clover installer and get your post-install stuff separately, configure your system with Clover Configoruator. MUCH MUCH BETTER than anyBeast.

just like a non-mac computer, you have to do all kinds of stuff to make a cheap computer work at 50% of a mac. Mac, you plug it in it works. Windows, you plug it in it works sometimes and other times it has no idea where it even is. My wife works on windows and we have to mess with hers all the time and my mac has NEVER had a single issue. I moved to mac in 1998 and have never looked back. No crashes, no lockups, not a single issue since 1998!

Can you do a Final Cut Pro X test on the hackintosh? One of the reasons you might want to buy a Mac is so you can use that instead of Adobe Premiere, so if you can bypass the Apple tax and still use Final Cut, that would be really cool.

You can't buy a dual core Mac Mini anymore. Quadcore is standard and it goes to six core.

Nope, since BT and built-in wifi dont work (requirement for continuity etc) it doesnt work. Most likely, ootb iMessage will also not work. (Bei meinem Hackintosh ist es jedenfalls so. Dafür läuft alles andere, Appstore und Co. und es ist tatsächlich lauffähig auf einem Ryzen System)

Thank you for being honest about how annoying it is due to all the problems and incompatibilities. It’s not smooth sailing at all. Even if you kind of get some of it to work, other issues make it a bad experience. This is from someone who prefers macOS to windows btw. But hackintoshing is horrible. Kext nightmares. WiFi issues. Audio issues. Freezing issues.
