When most people think of World War Two in the pacific, they think of the US Marine Corps. It is widely not understood that the US Army's contribution of troops far exceeding that of the Marines, and they were present on almost every battlefield from the Philippines to Okinawa. So how can we put these PTO army forces on the table?

Nice work. It’s amazing no-one has done pacific infantry for the pacific. Meanwhile there’s literally hundreds of Germans.

FYI. The US Army units on Guadalcanal were armed with the M1 Garand rifle and the Marines the M1903 Springfield rifle. At some point Marines we’re acquiring the M1 Garand from the deceased/wounded US Army soldiers or by other means.

There's also that marines would "find misplaced logistics" from the army, this is shown in the Pacific TV series where one guy even takes the army General's moccasins

Nice build 👍 side note on the rifle at 1:37 while yes the Garand became the standard issue rifle, the Springfield wasn’t phased out. It was the most common rifle for snipers and marksman throughout the war.

You are correct! I found this out a bit after I made this video, I have two or three springfields in my army now, which is sweet cause they are cool looking rifles! Nice to have some variety haha

Have you thought of adding unit patches on them? That's one of the unique differences between the Army uniform and Marine uniform

Ooo that’s a great idea! I wonder if anyone makes decals for those
@PJA264
@PJA264 Год назад
@@scalehistoryslc819 One thing I'd point out is that Army unit patches were fairly uncommon in the PTO. Generally, those were only on their M41 field jackets, which they only used if it ever got cool enough to wear one, so basically only on the Philippines and Okinawa. You don't see unit patches much on HBT shirts.
@scalehistoryslc819

@@PJA264 thats both relieving because i don't want to put patches on each soldier and a little bit of a bummer because they would have been a very cool addition haha!

Excellent job my man, keep it up. An idea, winter german for the bodies and US infantry kit for arms, weapons, equipment but for the Aleutian Islands campaign instead of the more common Bastogne .
@scalehistoryslc819

That’s a good idea! I’d have to look into the differences in kit, were they still using Springfield rifles in that campaign?

@@scalehistoryslc819 You mentioned that the Army models and the Marine models were slightly different in size. Equipment and details aside, would a down and dirty conversion of using Army heads on Marine bodies work, size wise?
