Just to clarify the killing of the Cat in GTA V was due to the input lag of the game, as you may know GTA V can occasionally suffer with large delays between inputs and actions, this is why the games' movements seem sporadic in the few seconds of footage previous to this. I also do not have autosave enabled so no cats were permanently harmed during the making of this video.....I felt this needed to be said.
I just wanted to say I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad T61 three years ago from a friend for around 150$ (Rs 11,000 in India) which had the following specifications: Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 Dual Core @2.00ghz 4GB DDR2 Ram @667mhz (Dual channel) iGPU (Intel GMA x3100) 1280x800 14.1" TN panel Seagate 250GB HDD @5400rpm and had Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (Unactivated). So was I fooled or it was worth it as it had no dirt or damage to consider. It was released back in 2007-08. Thanks for any advice.
Yep, certainly! The cheapest I was able to get a laptop for was about £16 and that is a Fujitsu from 2006... which can't really do too much. Spotify is OK, RU-vid isn't (certainly for anything above 360p!), but at least it can play DVDs and CDs. Really lightweight games (such as Peggle, from the late 2000s) will run but nothing of the like being tested here. Oh, and this is a Windows XP machine. Forget Windows 7 or 10, they won't work.
I like my gaming cheap and my builds budget, that's why I'm here, since 12 subs, now 40k and counting! I'm happy your channel is such a success, man :D
Martin B at the time I bought the pc , I didn’t know shit and now it’s graphics cards suck. And it’s on windows 10 so gaming isn’t great + it’s not supposed to be a gaming pc.
Update : it’s not that bad anymore, my 10 y old brother is a nerd so he fixed my pc (virus cleaning, junk cleaning etc) which made it faster . I can now play warframe on max settings ( it’s a bit laggy but completely playable ), i can also run cod world at war on max graphics ( still a bit laggy) . Anyways my pc is not rly a gaming pc it’s more for work cuz it’s with intel i7 and no gaming graphics cards but hey idc I’m happy now
240p GTA 5 hovering around 30 fps with huge latency gotta be the best way to experience GTA 5😎 Also did I just hear Sims 2 buy mode music? I really love that game
I got The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection a year ago. For years now if you give EA proof you own any version of The Sims 2, working or not they will give you it. All content is included I believe. Anyways if you're lucky you can still get a copy if you say you lost it.
Playing GTA 5 720p hovering around 30 FPS with substantual stuttering when driving is really a good way to play GTA 5. Meanwhile, Fallout 4 runs surprisingly well on my laptop.
I knew I couldn’t be the only one who notice that TS2 build music. My god that game was great, pretty much encompassed 1-2 years of my childhood that one game
@@mrkz04 I have a flagship Asus laptop from 2013 and it still works fine. It costed $700 new it shouldn't be over $150 now. Since Windows pcs don't really hold much value.
Don't ever spray cleaner directly on the screen! It doesn't take much for the cleaner to leak inside and screw everything up! Spray it on the cloth and then wipe the screen down.
An Ssd and a new screen (perhaps even an upgrade to that 1080 panel mentioned earlier) would do a laptop like this a world of good, even though this video is a few years old
This could actually be upgraded if required, the CPU can be upgraded to a suitable Core 2 Duo, which has more power; the RAM can be upgraded to 8GB DDR2 and the HDD can be upgraded to any 2.5 HDD or SSD. You can even upgrade the wireless B/G card to a newer, B/G/N card (or even a wireless AC card). I've bought a Dell Studio 1745 and will have great times upgrading it to its maximum potential, and using it as my Windows 7 laptop. Also, this was well worth it even for just the 500GB hard drive. (And yes, I would replace the screen also, due to the imperfections.)
Windows 7 does seem to work better than Windows 10. I have a HP Pavilion 15 which shipped with Windows 10, and I purposely downgraded to Windows 7. The graphics performance, as well as overall performance, is smoother under Windows 7.
My girlfriend has a 2009 core2duo 2.4ghz, 4gb RAM with an old Radeon HD4650 still is good for occasional gaming given that you run pre-2012 games. Don't starve runs perfectly there
It does look like a fairly old laptop but it isn't a vintage laptop as these would go back to machines such as the old IBM Thinkpad laptops with original Pentium 133 and 166MHz with the latter having the mmx instruction set and back in the mid to late 90's the original Pentium laptops typically ran Windows 3.1 or 95 and one I had was blistering fast (at doing nothing) with it's 32MB RAM, although some of the RAM was for the onboard VGA, leaving less then 30MB for the OS. I think it all depends on how old you are and what you grew up with and how many rigs you have built, overclocked and all this sort of malarkey. Not having a dig at all btw mate......just the way I speak & type can seem like I am having a go but it's not intentional.
If you have some older monitor lying around, I bet you can just hook the laptop to that external monitor and switch it over. Not ideal if you're on the go, but it's an option.
This was my first ever laptop I used for gaming, used to play so much final fantasy 11 and unreal tournament 3 on it. I miss it, wish Dell would make something similar to it again as it was an amazing machine
Man this is incredible when compared to my disaster of a 16-year old laptop. I’m slowly getting through the process of fully repairing and replacing it.
We actually have that laptop in storage... Maybe i should get it and see whats on it, it's screen is working perfectly with a few keys missing and the outside being a bit damaged, but otherwise its nice with everything working.
It was a laptop that was great on the inside shit on the outside! Though it reminded me a little of the hp g7 wich was one of the best systems I’ve owned! Damn story of my life: how Input lag killed my cat.
It's Integrated GPU NOT Dedicated Shared its iGPI intel HD and APU AMD, Integrated when its soldered on the same motherboard and using the general system memory and Dedicated when its got its own slot with own bios and Vram.
The HD 4570 in the laptop is in by PCI-e MXM. Integrated Graphics back in the day were included in the NORTHBRIDGE. Some motherboards have NORTHBRIDGE but does not come with a GPU. You can't comprehend your english bro XDDDD
So...i have a lenovo b45-50/b50-45, it cost me £450 yet it seems to not be able to play gta v at even low, csgo lags at 13 fps average, and i dont know whats wrong... i have an amd a8 with radeon r5 graphics
+MWB Gaming: Optimisations on mobile hardware is one thing that makes using Windows 10 quite good, I said it in the video. However Windows 7 would work just as well.
for performance on old hardware, XP would be the best i just dont like how windows 10 takes control away from the user and installs a bunch of spyware that is near impossible to kill during installation
7:03 Fantastic, I think this was the first video I watched that even featured these graphics options. You know the one: 240p ultra low with no shadows. Can't go wrong, right? :)
Wow. This is legit a really good deal! Get the screen cleaned up and you've got a good laptop with excellent graphics and ports that holds up in 2018 and for jus about $7. It's kinda sad that this decade old $7 laptop, can outperform and outspec a 2016 5K iMac for $2,000.
I wouldn't mind seeing a restoration video for this. Also, I get how surprisingly good laptops of this era can be when repaired and maxed out. Not too long ago I did the same with a Dell Latitude D630, which actually ran Windows 10 comfortably, although I choose to run Manjaro on it most of the time. Keep up the good work, I really enjoy your videos!
I don't know why but this channel reminds me of an old channel which doesn't post anymore called DigitalRev, Its a photography channel. Very similar style and pace. Has anyone said this is like the TopGear of the tech channels?
this made me giggle for the simple and plain reason on one chunk of irony, you won't get these that cheap at flea markets around here. However, I quite frequently find them in the trash and newer machines as well. I do scrapping for a living and one of the things I'm constantly dragging home are fairly new computers. I really have to find a inexpensive way to get a copy of Windows 7 and Windows 10 short of paying over $100 for a copy. If I told you what computer shops are charging where I live, it is downright scandalous and people are merely throwing machines out with incredibly stupid things wrong with them because it's cheaper to just buy a new computer in their opinion. What really boggles my brain is I've found several custom-made OMG expensive gaming computers that are fully functional and were thrown out some of these machines are about five years old or newer. Bear in mind what I just said custom-made gaming system. Everything was very high and even the towers in some cases cost several hundred dollars. I've got quite a few gaming towers that people took the insides out of and I keep picking them up, because they're really nice towers at some point. I've got a take several of the ugly towers apart and put the insides in the nice, gaming towers. What makes me feel ill. I keep getting these machines that at Staples. There presently selling for around four or 500 new and I'm finding the exact same machines out in the garbage, generally with either spyware or a bad hard drive. On average laptops that are worth me doing anything with I have people buy them for parts paying $10 and I've got 45 laptops. I set aside that are not very old, and are 90%, or 100% functional. What I call 90% is the keyboard is shot and you merely connect a USB port keyboard and your good to go. Some of them are as old as the one in your video but they were home theater type multicore laptops with high-end graphics cards. I've got an Acer that I've been using for about three years to run movies on my flatscreen which was originally a home theater laptop speakers were blown out of it keyboard was badly damaged battery no longer work and believe it or not, the laptop was left outside in the elements for quite long time. Bear in mind I've had the machine three years and it still works. I've never bothered replacing the battery and just use it with a power supply and no battery. It had no hard drive when I got it part of the bottom of the laptop was broken open that goes over the Vfan and i ended up passing to tape on a hard drive cover because of damage to parts of the bottom of the laptop.i only have windows XP on hand so I put Windows XP in the machine and had somebody complete the process because I don't member how to get the drivers for a laptop.i have the thing connected to a stereo system. Like I said it's hoped up to my television three years now the screen still works just fine in the machine hasn't burst and the flames yet given how badly smashed it was I thought it might last three weeks LOL. Acer should probably use it in a commercial given it was outside and even underwater and the screen a riveting still works. The couple that I recently got and set aside. I'm trying to get a hold of Windows 7 and Windows 10 without having to pay 100+ for either program. I've never used anything beyond Windows XP and really need to learn how to use those newer operating systems. Before somebody starts complaining why don't I know this or know that. Bear in mind I lost quite a chunk of long-term memory at some point so there's jobs. I can't do on a computer anymore that I used to do when I was younger. That's why you don't see me doing something like replacing a bad keyboard on a laptop and I just use a external USB port keyboard. I literally have a stack of super old one core very early era Dell Wi-Fi laptops that all work just fine and they're what I use for you might call disposable computers. They still run Windows XP and can access the Internet from Wi-Fi hotspots, you have no worry of somebody stealing them. Batteries have about an hour to two hour battery life and generally I use them for things I would never do with a good computer. If people know where I'm coming from. Frankly, I stopped gaming on computers back in the early days of Windows, XP where I ran into a lot of problems last straw was when I tried to install a windows XP compatible videogame, which totally screwed up my operating system and the technicians response was to reinstall Windows. Instead of fixing the machine. Frankly, I like videogame systems, you don't have to upgrade anything. You just put the game in and lay it know constantly having to change to a new video graphics card or some other problem, It just works.
@@BudgetBuildsOfficial Yeah, I remember you doing it in the ATI HD3450 video - that even featured CS GO in 240p as well (which was again a first for the channel). It's good that GTA 5 actually runs, but would anyone actually want to go through the game at 240p vs playing Vice City or San Andreas at better settings and frame rates...
I have one core laptop and I sometimes use for play mafia 1 :-) why not I would like ask you did you se in your life GPU burn / spark in real-time if not please have a look on my channel this video coming tonight Is GTX 760 with catch spark/fire when I do recording my new video I really like see you and if you like I can send you un-video you can use in your channel as well If you make decisions have a look I will be happy as Iam new and I think is hard find my video anyway
Haha, I have this exact laptop at home right now. It used to be my main laptop for about a year until I got an actual Desktop PC. Now it sits with my mom and she just watches some RU-vid on it. Though the model you got seems better than mine, as the one I have is one of the weaker models. Pentium Dual-Core T4200 2GB DDR2 667mhz Intel GMA 965 Graphics 250GB 5400RPM HDD But hey, at least I got mine for free.
I don't give a shit what you say about this laptop, the fact that it can run GTA V above 10 FPS is fucking legendary. I like to talk a lot of hot shit about Dell, but I gotta say, that's damn impressive. Also, diggin' the channel.
Well, I got an HP Pavilion dv7 from my uncle for free, put an SSD in it and now I have a pretty cool machine running Windows 10 x64 with a Core 2 Duo P8400, 3GB of RAM and a 9600M GT which by the way somebody put a thermopad on... But replacing it with a Cryorig CP7 fixed all the temperature problems :)
I've found that recording on Intel HD graphics is somewhat ok I mean you can get 1080p recordings but it kills the framerate but also when recording if you play back the video the low FPS is not there which is wierd
