Yes, and I noticed, as what happened with my 2 sons, that whatever the older one does, the younger one likes to copy. So, the secret is, teach the firstborn what he needs to know to succeed in life, and the second born will learn as well. Love how that works!

Little Sawyer reminds me of Crusoe when I first started watching The Newby’s. Both boys are very bright and speak so well for their ages. I will be so sad and happy when I see Crusoe go off to school in a couple of years. 😢

13:13 Tip: when building your cabinets, put a temporary connection on the top-front of the cabinet box to keep it square while installing.

I raised 3 boys. . . "mine, mine, mine" was a common expression between the two that were 19 months apart. Sawyer's verbal expressions are sweet too.

Hi Newbys! John, one of my biggest mistakes when woodworking is assuming that the 2m length you bought IS actually 2m, it's only when you cut it in half that you find out it was 1m98! I trusted that you'd sort it out! Sawyer's speech has come along so well, i bet the overheard conversations between the boys are amusing! Have a good weekend! ❤

Salmiakki -effect 😅. The dictionary gave "diamond", "rhombus" or "lozenge" for "vinoneliö" wich is the shape of salmiakki for us Finns. Wonky, I'd say in english, but that is nowhere near word to describe the artistry and craftmanship of John's woodwork. Even when things don't go as he plans. Thank you for the new(by) expression! I will use it from now on for the things that don't quite go straight as planned. Salmiakki effekti!

JOHN! Pull the cabnets out attach to each other (put a flat level sheet of wood under them to avoid any even floor) then push them back against the wall and shim them and when you put the counter top ontop also shim between the cabnet and underside of the counter it will all serve the purpose perfectly. Lovely Sunday to you all Newby family, patience and carefulness of John evidence of his craftsmanship in building and correcting, so little mices called Crusoe and Sawyer got into the unfinished kitchen cabinets already😊, cannot stop them exploring and loving their Dad's work, proof of it the end of video where they want to do everything together with Daddy. The JOY of parenting little toddlers, both you Tara and John are gracious with your little boys that soon you realize just turning your head and already they are teenagers, happens to all of us. John, I felt for you! When you are a perfectionist, it is so much harder. I don't know if you watch Trent and Allie, but on their home build, those cupboards would have been deemed a "hair out of square" and given the thumbs up. I cannot believe how well Sawyer is speaking now....he's a big little boy.

I’ve been helping my twenty something son start a home based carpentry business in the last 1.5 years. We are both learning the business. He is the builder, I’m the salesperson and designer. We do small jobs like cabinetry/shelving. Each time we install a job, it’s a bit scary! You never know what is going to go right or wrong; but whatever it is, you have to make it right!

I have two little granddaughters 6 and 8 who I often watch. The boy's saying "mine-mine" and pulling faces is SO familiar. I can say the girls now argue out their differences and TRY to keep their hands to themselves. LOL. Blessings to you all from SW Florida.

I simply love John’s carpentry and enjoy his magic with wood! I feel in the smallish kitchen maybe it’ll be a lighter look if the sides of the oven shelves were not completely boarded up but more open which would then show the old stone wall and the back tiles. Maybe five inch corner angles for support? John is great with trims so they can be smartened up, just a thought..🤔

My 4 year old grandson apologized to his older brother today for calling him a poopy-head. The older one who hadn’t even heard him threw a stuffed dinosaur at him followed by a ‘that’s okay’. Then the 4 year old started to cry! Sometimes it’s hard not to laugh!😍🇨🇦
