Looks really good! Especially for the first try.😀 Is there anyway to seal the fiberglass part so you can put the vacuum on full? What grade did you Sand it down with? 👍👊
Thanks. I guess you could use some expanding foam inside to help support it a little but think we got away with it. I used a 60 grit to cut it down initially but that's very course so go carefull. I'd recommend 120 and 240 ideally then 600 before a lacquer
Did few vacuum bag parts with clothes packs. But it don’t work very well. So the food ones work better Or Iv used rubble bags with silver tape and the valve from the clothes pack
hello, I have a question, if I mix and leave the epoxy resin to dry in a warm environment, but I sand it in the yard at a low temperature, about -8 degrees Celsius (17.6 Fahrenheit), could this be a problem of low temperature, because when I start sand it my work at this low temperature it always gets damaged during the sanding process so could it be a problem of low temperature?
The DIY Tuners here’s my simple forged carbon project, will be using the household clothes vacuum bag, easy Composites has great results using it 😊 RU-vid won’t allow me to show my pic 😥
@@TheDIYTuners I just ordered what they had on eBay. Iv asked few sellers if they have hard stuff but most say it’s soft stuff. Still Iv got ok at using it now lol. Iv made my own hard stuff had a splitter not stick properly so had one coat of resin so cut that up into tiny pieces lol Now got Christmas tinsel in blue Iv cut to the same size as chopped and mixed it up to use on my wing mirrors in my rx8. Looks good
@@bigrobracingrobinson2657 I got the 6mm I think. This was before easy composites sold it I'd try them as they do more DIY friendly quantities www.easycomposites.co.uk/chopped-tow-carbon-fibre
