I work out at Works Motorsport in Sonoma, driven & wrenched on just about every gen of evo I believe now… firmly stand by the idea of the Evo 5/6 being the best of em all. Perfect mix of the tin can s**tbox feel of the early cars, with just enough of the driveline refinement before they started to become heavier/ just numb like the X’s. Shame probably 90% of them are rusted this same way😂
The 5 is so good. Its insane how little rust protection they applied to pretty much everything of this era in Japan. I have never really read much about it but something had to be going on with whoever all manufacturers were consulting for chassis protection solutions at that time. Maybe i was just purely cost related.
😬 That's pretty bad but hopefully you can fix it up. The intercooler pipe was never that shape for clearance, they made it like that to improve flow, something called the venturi effect I believe 👌🏽
Typical cp9a ct9a rust issue. Easiest way to go about it is order ct9a frame rails from Ross sport in the UK. Only difference is the front section has to be chopped off. It’s not a huge job and is actually fairly simple
"To me" is the key word there. Everyone has their preferred generation but some generations are better than others regardless of what someone likes more than the other. I'm not a huge evo fan so I won't act like one is better than the other because I have no clue but I'm gonna assume that this is Chelsea favorite evo so to him "the best evo" just like you like the 8/9s more
@@24kNick I mean you publicly commented on the Internet so anyone including me can say what they want just like you did and I also threw no hate towards you. All I was saying is just because you like those more doesn't mean everyone else does.
So did we miss something here as ur audience? I see nothing about people trying to pick up chick's. I watch a show on chickens to figure that out. It's like getting dating advice from a calender.
Man that's a shame especially on an evo 5 RS. I'm starting a chassis rails swap on my evo 6 soon too, but i'll probably replace the entire length of the rail. check it out if you're interested. I always tighten the strut top nuts before the lower bolts when swapping out suspension, better isn't it?
I hope you got the oem brake setup front and rear with the car and the shitty evo 4 brake is on for rally use or so:D Oem 5-9 calipers have become very expensive. Greetings from germany love the content👍🏼👍🏼
