NO WAY!! The el Tour de Tucson is what got me interested in cycling in the first place. There was a year the route went right in front of my house, and I was so excited when my mom brought me out to see the riders. From then I started riding my crummy old bike longer than I ever had. That following summer I watched the Tour de France for the first time, and saved up enough money to get en entry level road bike. I have been watching you all for years, and earlier this year I told myself I’d get back into it after being inspired once more from a few key videos. I signed up for the tour and started training again. A few years later since the first few times I road in the el Tour and now with kids, I was much slower, but enjoyed being able to be part of such a wonderful event again. I’m glad you all got to enjoy it as much as I did, thank you for visiting our old pueblo home!

Kudos to Hank and Ollie for finishing Platinum in the 40th. El Tour de Tucson. As a Tucson area resident, I'm stoked to see our area on GCN. I've personally ridden the El Tour de Tucson 10 or so times and it's always a blast, though I've never finished under 4 hours. I certainly hope you all also had the opportunity to ride up our scenic and famous Mt. Lemmon highway, 40 km of climbing. It's an iconic ride in these parts. GCN should also consider sending GMBH riders out to ride the 24Hours of the Old Pueblo race, another epic event.

This video allowed me, his mother, to experience El Tour from his lens, and for that I am forever grateful 🩵 I loved seeing him right next Ollie in his bright blue kit bib #375 🤩 and getting to watching him through the finish with the Peloton 🤩 Thank you again! Super impressed y’all were able to ride that fast while talking and navigating course/peloton! I totally agree with others, try to make it out to more road cycling events in USA to prevent it from fully dying! At 5:10 you’ll see a huge airfield with lots of military aircraft. That is Tucson’s rather famous “Boneyard” at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base where the US Air Force has retired over 3,000 military aircraft and (interestingly) over 6,000 aircraft engines. They use D-M because Tucson has a very dry climate that helps preserve the aircraft. It’s quite a sight and a mute, sobering testimony to the dedication America has made to airpower in the past century. Ollie and Hank rode by a lot of aircraft history. 😊

HUGE for us native Tucsonan cyclists to have GCN here. My wife and I are opening a 4-bdrm/2-bath (w/pool) VRBO soon, that is perfectly located on the far eastside of Tucson for access to all the premium eastside riding, the Loop, and Mount Lemmon. Watch for Casa de Mesquite VRBO, LLC. Thanks for coming to Tucson, and please come again!!

Congratulations to the both of you on an amazing effort. So good to see GCN on this side of the pond lately with this ride, Big Sugar, and Unbound Gravel. I hope there will be more content here soon, especially with GCN+ closing down.

Amazing ride and accomplishment. Actually in our own backyard (Arizona), where winter riding is the best.

At 5:20 Im pretty sure the guy rotating back was trying to figure out how the hell Hank was rotating to the front and still talking to the camera.

That was a wonderful performance gentleman. You accomplished your goal and proved to everyone that you are both legitimately excellent bicycle riders. ❤ You have terrific jobs, you are already getting paid to do what you love. That means that you can relax and enjoy it. That’s a whole lot better than having to worry about the next race and when the next crash 💥 is going to really test your toughness and resiliency.

Loved the fact you guys came and did this. Unfortunately, I had to skip it this year (have done it multiple years in the past). I plan to be back next year....I hope to see you back.
