Can We Talk (by Tevin Campbell) - Piano Tutorial 

Dear houseofjaz, I'd like to tell you something: I learned this song from this video 4 years ago, and as a totally self-taught piano player who can only play by ear, I played it by memory every time I sat at a piano for those 4 years, and played it with a passion. I knew if I only could remember one song, I wanted it to be full of beautiful chords like this. Now, 4 years later, I am writing tons of my own stuff using such beautiful chords. My technique is informed by the "double bass" in the left hand. Now I'd like to give back to you in a small way: there is a beautiful flavor chord you can play on the prechoruses. Right when Tevin sings the "-DENCEEE" of "confidence" or the "RIGHTTTT" of "get it right," hit this one: Double D bass notes in the left hand, and A C D# F# in the right hand :) I don't know what this chord is called but it's perfect. I'm a classically trained pianist, but want to learn some of the R&B songs I grew up listening to. It's hard to find sheet music versions, and when I do, they're so hollow I'm *horrified* I can't stomach it.
