Chinese are far diversified, people from north look similar to JAPAN and korea, south looks like vietnam and thai, east looks like JP or KR, west looks like middle asian ...... I can easily differntiate KR JP AND CN... but have trouble in South east aisa, they do look the same ....
Do it the other way around! Korean trying to guess European regions haha. But you should get people from different European regions (Baltics vs Balkans vs Western Europe vs Northern Europe vs Mediterranean), otherwise it would be hard to tell.
It was so easy for me to tell all of them from just a glance! He was too focused on the fashion and stereotypes but heir faces are a dead giveaway, and when they talked it was so clear, I am sure anybody who is Asian / had experience with Asia was also able to know pretty easily
Not really. I've seen plenty of Chinese people get mistaken for Koreans in Seoul. Just like I've seen Koreans get mistaken for locals in hong kong. Or Japanese people get mistaken for being Chinese. And even filiino's being mistaken for Chinese or Vietnamese. I even have an Indian friend who people think is Chinese.
I think the guy focussed too much on appearance and clothes and kept saying look soft. I only got 2 right. He asked the wrong questions should have asked their favourite food.

I am Thai. For me, it's very easy to differentiate Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai people because they are so different. Both facial expressions and gestures. But for me, Chinese and Vietnamese women It's very difficult to separate. because they are very similar
Many years ago I went to Australia for a year and met a lot of people from different country I have Japanese friends Korean friends Chinese friend…. But the sad thing was when they guess my nationality Japanese said “ you look like Korean” 😂and Korean said “you look like Japanese”😅 I said “No , I’m Thai 😊” And they all said “Ohhhhh!!!! You are Taiwan….” Whatttttt????
Chinese, Japanese & Korean are hardest to differentiate, if you can tell them apart, it's very strange you can't differentiate Chinese & Vietnamese. They are very different, facial features to physical height. Northern Thai are very similar to Vietnamese. I doubt you're Thai.
Vietnamese women often have a soft face, less sharp face, mostly natural unless they have heavy makeup like the girl on the video or use an app to make them different. And China is so big, they're not like us. Southeast Asia has 40 millions of Southern Chinese origin, even we Vietnamese can't tell the difference lol

I self doubted a lot but my first instinct on Korean and Japanese were cothat. And kinda sorta on the Chinese one - the Korean girl just has that fashion style that's common there apparently, that other videos on this channel have commented on, and something about the face suggested Korean as well though heck of I consciously know what what was. (For all I know I saw her in another video and subconsciously recalled it who knows) Based on her reaction to him repeatedly saying Korean, I knew #3 was anything but lol. And my first instinct was "MAYBE chinese?? Maybe???" But then I over thought and wondered if it could be something like Phillipines since to me the Phillipines are so diverse (...largely for unfortunately colonialism reasons) that even though there is a "standard" Filipina range of looks in my head, I know there are people, especially celebrities, who are lighter skinned with a variety of facial features, who I'd easily mistake for other ethnicity, so that was my back up guess and I was seriously on the fence for it. The fashion... the neutral colors and clean professional look make mevsee why hevkept gravitating to Korean, but I knew there had been another video (possibly with the same girl??) Where a Chinese girl had said she just likes to dress like that. So I knew Not Korean, I thought MAYBE Chinese from accent but wasn't sure. Japanese I felt the closest to confident and what solidified that was when she said she was a RU-vidr- her whole unique style, especially the hair, suddenly made sense if she was a Japanese RU-vidr given some of the younger ones I've seen on here. Theres also other subcultures for fashions like that in Japan too.. buy the RU-vidrs... They do interesting and sometimes multicolored things with their hair. So it just made sense. Was COMPLETELY off on the last 2 though 😂 on #4 I started out from "India, Malaysia or Indonesia maybe?" To ruling out India from among other things the accent, but I ended up saying "idk man, but she's definitely not Chinese, Japanese or Korean, that's all I know." Singapore was not at any point in my mind lmao. The last one I had nowhere close. No idea. I gave up lol. I think guessing Europeans who be hard but not any harder than this was. People really do vary so much that it's hard to go by looks alone, and honestly the verbal comments and accents helped more. A lesson in how fallible our own eyes are lol.

No worries, I’m French who was born and raised in Paris and Vietnamese descent. I could guess only the Japanese (because of her accent) and the Chinese girl (it was just luck), I was completely wrong with the other ones so no worries really if you or other westerners make mistake, but since I’m Asian descent maybe I should start worrying about me 😅 🤷🏻♂
I got Korea, Japan and China just by looking at them. That kind of clothing style is typical Korean, and they colour their chair like that in Japan. The third girl just looks very Chinese. The last two ones I wouldn’t have guessed.

As an asian person, this isn't even a test. I got 5/5 from first glance. They key is to look carefully at their fashion statement, how they dress, how they wear make ups, hairstyle, etc. These girls really live up exactly to what is in vogue in their respective countries - no surprises. It looked almost like they were specifically told to dress as if they were in their own countries.
I’m Thai and I agree with you. Everything is very obvious here if you pay attention to the details in fashion of each country. They might look similar being influenced by one another but there are slight difference.
@@BlackHoleSpain I can identify by their personality and skin. Singaporean is more mixed race than other asian nations, so if she got some kind of good english with unique accent + mixed race + non asian personality mix, it tends to be Singaporean.

I do understand why Alex thought that Fitri was Indonesian or Filipino. And maybe Fitri is indeed a Malay-Singaporean, and her face is clearly marked by Southeast Asians. Tan Skin/little black, the people more shorts than any asians countries, and have a little big eyes than other Asian People. Just my opinion. I'm so sorry if i am wrong about that. Thai girls and ladies look mixed too. There were European settlers/ merchants / military personnel in ..lets say Tudor English times in Thailand. Some of us also got Chinese/ Indian /Arabian blood or heritage as well. Thailand in the past (and now) was a melting pot really.

Well it is not easy for me i am korean though especially on the fashion and make-up part. they,excepting for 4th girl,looks like a getting Korean style like a k-pop idol I can see all 4 of them on the Korean street very usually

I think there’s probably 7 overall looks for oriental asian groups. North East Asian, East Asian, continental southeast Asian and Islander southeast Asian, Himalayan, north Asian, central Asian. Anywhere where these areas meet you’re going to have blended looks.
@@rho992 I usually can guess, not specific countries but there are definitely regional looks. There are regions that cluster closer together such as northeast/east Asia and continental/islander Southeast Asia. I may mistake a Malaysian for a Thai but I rarely mistake them for Koreans. With that being said, there is a lot of Chinese immigrants in Southeast Asia and a lot of minorities in southwestern China, so it’s not surprising to find people with mixed looks.
Aah really tho, i'm Indonesian livin in the US and alot of white people say i don't look asian because i doesn't fit their stereotype about being asian cause i have darker skin and bigger eyes
@@newbabies923 that’s the southeast Asian look. When people say Asian they often assume East Asian. Although some southeast Asian can look more east Asian due to Chinese immigration, they usually are darker and have bigger eyes, stature is also a bit smaller.
@다느Dan they are a mixed people, mostly between north Asians and west Asians. Depending on the proximity of neighbouring countries they can look either more mongoloid or caucasoid.

So I worked 2 jobs , 5 yrs living alone I went thru 15 roommates(2-8 month rent ) I got along with ppl. I have NO plastic surgery , natrually Big eyes , small nose/mouth/ small chin/ straight nose , long eye lashes (5-7% Chinese have long lashes ) long limbs , slim curvy . I remeber me n that roommate 😮living same condo . She just felt uncomfortable having me around . N when my Dude shows up . He alwyss said that my roommate wanted to live my life but just got angry . I'm Japanese and I thought the Japanese woman looked Korean when I saw her for the first time. And it turned out that she is half Korean. I heard her say so in a video from another channel. Also, when I watched the video of Miss Universe Japan 2022, I thought one of the contestants looked a little bit Chinese, and she later said she is half Chinese. This means I can sometimes tell the differences between pure Japanese people and even Japanese people who are half Korean or Chinese. The reason why some people can't even differentiate between pure Japanese, pure Koreans, and pure Chinese is simply because they haven't seen enough faces from each Asian country to notice any patterns.

I guess Indonesia/Malaysia first. Southeast Asian appearance overlap each other, but Fitri’s appearance is very much more common in Malaysia and Indonesia. Both countries are very diversed, some look Philipino, some look Thai, some look Chinese, some look Indians, etc. depends on region. The Indonesian and Malay that look more similar to Philipinos are from Borneo and Sulawesi.

I've never agreed with the all Asians look the same. Less now with all the Asian content I've seen through the years. Still the dude how could confuse Niki?. Her face screams Chinese. First time I saw her I knew she was Chinese without a doubt before she presented herself. Koteha also is very Japanese. The Singaporean girl though, I wouldn't guessed her at all. Anyway it was a fun video.
The guy was waaaaay too focused on fashion and make-up. Just look closely at facial structure and it's obvious that Seong-Ji is Korean....hair is another giveaway because Korean hair tends to be more wavy and having fringes like Seong-Ji just gives classic Korean vibes. How he could guess that Niki was Korean is beyond me 🤦♂
Southeast Asian women tend to have darker skin and less fine facial features than East Asian women, but... many Chinese migrated over the centuries to Southeast Asia, especially Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines. And the Vietnamese could be said to be half Chinese.
Vietnamese is Vietnamese not half Chinese. Chinese civilization starts from far north of China meanwhile we live in far south. If they didn't conquer those really huge territories from the past to now on, then people never be that confuse. Even many Chinese they looks different and they really are!
Not entirely true, many native Southeast Asian women have fair skin, Sundanese Indonesian, Thai from highland region, Kinh Vietnamese....etc. It's the facial features that set them apart from East Asian, not just skin color. As a westerner, you probably can't tell.
I guess I'm not the only one finding it a bit strange people are guessed by the way they look which country they are from... I don't know, he said it as well but naturally there is in fact no way how you could say which country a person is from/ as wich part of the nationality they would feel like...
Even without the thumbnail, Japan seemed the most obvious. Korea and China not too tough (China's way of speaking definitely should have given it away, although the makeup should have too). Singapore and Thailand weren't easy. Without the thumbnail I would have thought the girl in black was Filipina, and the girl on the end looks almost like either another Korean or Chinese, because she's fairer skinned than many Thai.
I thought Niki pretty much shouted Chinese between her bone structure, height, and posture. Nearly every Chinese woman I've met has impeccable posture. Japan was the most obvious between style, bone structure and accent. Korea too. The Thai girl also looked a bit Korean so wasn't sure there. The most difficult was Singapore as I'm not familiar enough with those populations... I probably would have guessed Philippines or Indonesia.
It's strange how such countries differ so greatly while in Europe there's no difference between natives from one country or another. Yes Nordic countries have more blonde hair and blue eyes but those people are everywhere just less common.
What do you mean "in Europe there's no difference between natives from one country or another" ? That's quite wrong, European facial features are quite different from one region to another. People from Balkan countries look different compared to people from the Baltics compared to people from Western Europe compared to Northern Europe etc. It's actually pretty easy for me to tell roughly what region a European person is from.
@@alexandra9944 Yeah Eastern Europeans but I'm talking about the Western world. You don't see a difference between someone from the UK, France, Germany, Switserland, Benelux, Norway, Sweden,... Yes the blue eyes blonde hair is more common in say Sweden but is by no means very rare in the rest of mentioned countries.
