Considering the name of the challenge is to "beat all Dark Souls bosses in alphabetical order," and you're already using NG+ shenanigans, you could always perform the run on NG+ in the first place. I really can't find a source on this (maybe I can go boot up my 360 and check sometime), but if memory serves, on the original patch of Dark Souls, you wouldn't lose the Covenant of Artorias ring upon entering another NG+ cycle. So you could fight Four Kings before Great Grey Wolf Sif. But as I said, I can't find a source on this info, so maybe I imagined it. This would also mean you wouldn't be able to play the remaster, and I believe some of the glitches used are remaster exclusive. Food for thought, I suppose.
Btw, there is an actual asylum demon skip. If you use an r2 at the exact right spot on the platform you can clip past. Its a bit more satisfying then the whole "kill him and quit out so he's technically still alive" thing
@@NGPlusVideos Egghead run forced me to learn/research a lot skips and glitches, but there were many I hadn't heard of here (also just some regular mechanics haha). Your explanations are very clear and are much needed; one of the main problems I had trying to do some of these glitches was finding good explanations.
Imagine being the Asylum Demon and you've been waiting for years for the Chosen Undead to return and fight you...only to have the Chosen Undead zip around you, drop through the floor and just fight your cousin, instead.
It’s always weird seeing someone who does one type of content commenting on an entirely different type of content, feels like seeing your old high school teacher at the grocery store. Also it seems like challenge runs in games are like crack on RU-vid, everyone watches it in awe but not too many people actually want to spend the immense time investment to do it.
Thank you very much. By sheer coincidence, I only started watching your videos shortly before you commented, and I only today realised it was you who commented here 🤣 I am not very observant
Actually insane. The fact that in takes exactly the 67.5 seconds you get from the buffed duration of fall control to just get through the golden fog gate in duke's archives is actually astonishing, like its almost pixel perfect coincidence
This was insane, I was already familiar with how impressive regular dark souls speedruns are but some of the tricks on display here like the frame perfect centipede skip blew my mind!
Dude, you are literally one of the best creators I have ever seen on this platform, the effort put into each video is remarkable and the quality is impeccable
I wholeheartedly believe that this walkthrough has been one of the most entertaining Dark Souls challenges I’ve ever seen. The narrator explained things in a way I can understand and was very helpful in case I wanted to try this myself. Way to go! You earned a sub from me!
This run was a very cool idea, I really enjoyed watching! Couldn't help but notice the quit out glitch for accessing the Gwyndolin fight when all you need is the darkmoon ring from the catacombs though 😅 I'm pretty sure that's accessable right at the start of the game of I remember right
Two minutes in & this is such a good fucking video dude holy shit- custom drawings, the ad that was quick but got the point across, the voice & editing? Absolutely phenomenal, I can already tell I’m gonna spend my day off watching more of your videos
I absolutely love the amount of effort you put into this video! There are so many clever glitches and creative strategies you used to complete one of the most obscure challenges in dark souls
Word of advice, the soul dupe glitch by putting the soul item in the second slot then doing the menu breaking thing on the brightness option is easier. You just need to press down on the DPad, not down and left to try and keep it on the same thing.
This is an incredible glitch expedition. It's amazing how many things you can pull off in this game that aren't supposed to be possible. And the sheer number of hoops you had to jump through to kill Kalameet was wild
Damn Pulling every trick out of your sleeve to make such a run happen. Great work! Shoutout to catalystz for helping you with Kalameet. That trick is insane
This feels like one of those parody instruction videos. "all you have to do is take out a banana, shove it into the tail pipe of the nearest 67 mercury, turn in three and 3/4 times counterclockwise, press b twice, and viola you got it".
Damn, that was insane. This is still my favourite game of all time and it truly warms my hard that after thousands of hours I've spent with it, you're still able to break the game in ways I didn't expect. To mention something only tangentially related: I'm glad you showed some of Khamul's footage. It's crazy to me that someone like him is still mostly unknown even within the community. While most people had moved on to the other soulsborne games, Khamul quietly became one of the biggest route innovators and glitch hunters for PTDE and laid the foundation for many remastered speedrun categories. The dude is a pillar of the Dark Souls speedrun community and we wouldn't be where we are without him
What always amazes me is how people even discover insane skip glitches like these. The precise steps required are too obscure to understand how they can be discovered by accident. It's fascinating.
there's something so hilarious about all the weird and oddly specific glitches people have found in this game, I swear there's always at least one glitch I've never seen before or heard of whenever I watch any challenge run vids.
Man I swear content skip glitches are the best thing to come out of videogames, it's just so bloody fun to clip through the map. There was this one glitch in an mmo where you could clip through the map to skip like half of the dungeon and it was just so fun getting to the boss before them and just sitting in the boss room waiting for my friends to arrive the normal way and then wonder how the heck did I get there XD
What's funny is that this happened to me the first time I ever went here. I saw the worm and the ledge above and thought "Oh, I can do a plunging attack!" So I tried it and, well, imagine my shock when i ended up out of bounds and in a completely unfamiliar part of the map.
Thanks again, I did share it around a bit, on the Dark Souls SubReddit, but it seems not many gave it a chance. No worries, I'll see what the next video I can come up with is :D
Loved this video. Please make one of these for DS3, maybe a revised version of this with a different solution to the Four Kings fight or a different order. So many options, would love to see you tackle any of them.
Thanks a lot! I'm still playing Elden Ring right now, but I'm exploring it top to bottom at the moment, so an Elden Ring video might be a ways off right now 😅
Hear me out: if I report this comment for whatever reason, RU-vid will see it and remove the age restriction. Just an idea, correct me if I’m wrong, probably won’t work, but you never know I hope you see this
This run is very impressive, not because of the totally obvious intended path through the game, after all who doesn't grab cancle warp the Iron Golem to get to Anor Londo? But because there is a Vagrant at 24:27 behind the titanite demon, it genuinely surprised me to see one, I haven't seen one of those bastards since one oneshot me going through New Londo once.
theres also a ring that throws down gwyndolins illusory wall in the catacombs. could have snagged it while grabbing doll for painted world. not a critique lol. you chose a showcase of sick exploits. love the vid
Had to rewatch this after ds2 as the precision and time constraints are truely insane. How did people figure out some of these like the purple wrong warp thing, or that you had barely enough time to run through the archives fog gate
*Reads title and thinks about it* You are super lucky the first boss is "The Asylum Demon" And also that the one double boss is in the game is *D* ragonslayer Ornstien and *E* xecutioner Smough.
Aava's Pet would be first, but Aldia seems impossible due to having to defeat 2 bosses prior just to get that boss to spawn. I will be doing my best though, I have begun research for DS2 Alphabetical
No one talks about the easy way to do the soul dupe where you just hold down until you're one change item order and then just press down twice and right once
16:30, pinwheel hasn't been killed yet, but still have 15 estus flask shrads. I mean, i understand, to make it more feasible to not rest once & reach boss & then darksign back, the creator must've killed pinwheel to maximise his chances. Technically, this run is not 100% alphabetically done, but the techniques demonstrated mean this is possible, that's what the creator whishes to emphasize on, right?
@NGPlusVideos honestly I would never be able to achieve any of the the challenges you have done just wouldn't have the amazing willpower and patience you have in doing them and everytime I watch your videos I am amazed and enjoy the no matter how many times I have watched them all
Prediction: No way. Bed of chaos as second boss is gonna be so impossible. Not to mention Gwen is before seith. Can’t wait to be proven wrong. Edit: Holy hell
