Update: the Ladies First Trophy is possible to obtain on the PS5 version, which you can download for free with a PS4 disc. To obtain the Trophy, simply start a new game, quit out of Rude Awakening, swap to Coco within Bandicoot Battle by killing Crash, then use the PS5's Activity system to teleport straight to Rude Awakening as Coco. Once you finish the level, Ladies First will be obtained. However, while you can transfer your PS4 save file to the PS5 version, only progress-based Trophies (e.g. A/V Club, Putting Things In Perspective) will be carried over. All remaining Trophies will have to be obtained again, and that includes Overachiever and OVER-Overachiever. Since the keyboard glitch doesn't exist on PS5, it's impossible to view either of the 100% or 106% Endings, meaning the spinless Trophy count on PS5 is 26 - one less than is possible on PS4. Anyway, here's my best times: Rude Awakening: 1:21.09 (Sapphire) N. Sanity Peak: 1:19.09 (Sapphire) A Real Grind: 1:12.93 (Gold) Crash Compactor: 1:01.77 (Sapphire) Hit the Road: 1:54.62 (Gold) Truck Stopped: 1:21.95 (Platinum) Booty Calls: 1:28.39 (Gold) Thar He Blows!: 1:06.12 (Gold) Hook, Line, and Sinker: 1:30.52 (Gold) Jetboard Jetty: 1:32.24 (Gold) Rush Hour: 3:32.66 (Platinum) The Crate Escape: 1:39.16 (Platinum) Nitro Processing: 3:06.26 (Sapphire) Toxic Tunnels: 2:30.85 (Gold) Seeing Double: 1:38.73 (Gold)
Hey! Just wanted to let you know, I'm pretty sure that switching to Coco on the world map has a different animation- more specifically, one that does NOT spin.
"Crash Bandicoot 4 is the eighth game in the Crash Bandicoot trilogy" This made me laugh and it's only been 16 seconds into the video. You get a subscription for that haha
By the way, I once had a glitch that let me start the game as Coco, even though you're normally not supposed to be able to play as Coco until you beat the first two levels as Crash for the first time. I think this happened because of the Bandicoot Battle mode which I played and theoretically it skips the issue with swapping characters if that ever prevents you from getting a trophy
@@DrRank I don't recall all the details of what I went through in order to achieve those results, but I think I won my latest BB match as Coco while in the main single player campaign I was still in Rude Awakening, after starting a New Game. I'm pretty sure I selected Continue instead of starting a new game right after that BB match. All by complete accident of course
OK, I've done the research. It seems the Early Coco Glitch can only be done on the PC and PS5 versions. For the former, you need to swap to Coco in BB, quit, then start the game. For the latter, you can instead teleport to Rude Awakening using the Activity Cards in the PS5 OS. Owning a physical PS4 copy gives you a free PS5 download as long as you still have the disc. Whether the Trophy progress is shared between versions remains to be seen.
@@DrRank Both PC versions? I used the Battle-net version of Crash 4 which doesn't seem significantly different from the Steam version, but it's still worth mentioning it came first
I think, I THINK, in Cortex Castle if you have insane luck you can bounce off those nitros without exploding due to a mechanic which the game doesn't kill you if you land the exact moment the nitro hops.
This is really impressive! Nice to see an "Is it possible" where the answer is no for more than just "That ONE ledge you can't jump over despite completing 99% of the game" case, but I can't help but wonder if you did allow Akano's manuver, how much of the game could be completed without spinning outside of using Akano. For a similar reason to playing as Coco, I think Akano's limited appearances would at least make the spin feel more like a power up and still lead to an interesting puzzle. Though mad kudos for pulling this off either way and Max%ing it too to really push the game to the limit!
I really appreciate your perseverance and efforts you put in these challenges. I mean, getting a ps4 physical copy of the game just for one video? Doing extra effort to collect everything you can even though you don't have to? You are a legend man!
@@DrRank maybe just a minimalist for full completion? Dang what a doozy.. definitely a GG just beating the game. Awesome to watch. Looking forward to Jak 2 without jumping ;P I'm not aware of any other runs you're working on.
Also, since I was inspired by your chargeless runs of the first and second Spyro games, I decided to do a flameless run for both. Long story short, the first game had me stuck on Gnasty Gnorc and the second had me stuck as soon as Idol Springs.
You probably miss a gamechamp3000 joke of "turns out the original crash bandicoot 4 it's about time, is program on a movie tape" or something like that
in Draggin On actually theres 5 gongs in the level but u only need to hit 4(the 5th gong is at the checkpoint crate shortly after the bonus round) meaning it IS possible to get Hammer It Home spinless
Ive always been wondering. Can u get 100% wampa fruits in every level? I know this sounds dull but I’ve been genuinely wondering this cause there are some places where wampa fruits are IMPOSSIBLE to get as far as im aware
I'm watching this right AFTER I just beat Rayman in the phantom show without shooting/Counterblow, I don't know if you would've allowed guards, but you can even 100% it as well lol. I also did the last spark hunter, but that one's WAYY easier so I wouldn't talk about it, all I can say is mayhem op
In hit the road, I'm not 100% sure If this would work, mainly just going off of memory and how the other crash games work, but for the n sanely perfect relic, what u could do is instead of doing the bonus stage first, u could use Aku aku on the second load of boxes, then go into the bonus level and keep dying to get the second aku Aku mask, then complete the bonus level, this should work because first of all in every crash game, a death in the bonus round Is not counted as a death, secondly how most crash games work is that everything up to a checkpoint is saved, and the bonus levels count as checkpoints, so it should save the second load of boxes, the only thing I'm not sure is if death in a bonus level gives u an Aku Aku mask, I'm pretty sure it did in other games, but not sure about this one
First off, I believe you meant Crash Compactor. Second, no dice. The dynamic difficulty adjustment system is based on the Death Counter, which doesn't include Bonus Round deaths.
Is it not possible to keyboard glitch load the majority of the game, save, update the version of Crash 4 and then reload the game or something similar?
Any levels you unlocked with the keyboard glitch will remain unlocked once the patch is downloaded. But if you want to use the keyboard glitch again afterwards, you have to revert the game back to 1.00 (which just means deleting the software from your console and putting the disc in again)
Be grateful you only have to do them once. The footage I showed was a casual playthrough of Cortex Castle that happened to get Purple, and was coincidentally the one Purple I had on my Switch save file.
@@DrRankit's impressive just how easy the Purple Relic is to get in Cortex Castle. I am entirely convinced you could get at least a Platinum while doing a leisurely stroll through the level
Doesn't seem very interesting in all honesty, especially when you can just slide or belly flop where you'd usually spin. Another creator by the name of MONSTRO did a vid going over how many spins it would take to beat Crash 1 and another on how many spins, slides and belly flops it would take to beat Crash 2 which would've been more interesting to see tackled in Crash 4.
