Here's something to add to your pain: You could have used a 90% or 95% shield for taking the necessary damage and it still would have activated the rings. You just did an (almost) all hit run for no reason.
I... I'm sorry, my friend. Hope it gets better for you, cuz this is god damn relatable. If ya need help or someone to tall to, remember to feel free to reach out to anyone, myself included
Wow, I had no idea the Pate/Creighton quest still gave you a way to get the Engraved Gauntlets even if you kill one of them beforehand. That's a surprising amount of though they put into it, especially considering all the things they didn't put that much thought into. If you want to try this run at home*, you can save on repair powders just a bit by using the Repair sorcery. In vanilla, it's just past the rubble that you have to go through the Shrine of Winter to get around; in Scholar, it's in a chest behind a petrified lion in Shaded Woods. It ain't fast, but you can probably spare a few levels for Attunement on a run like this to get you a decent number of casts. *Note: You do not want to try this run at home.
Tye, on the real right now thank you. You have helped me through some pretty tough times and especially recently, you came when I needed it most. I appreciate you!
Completely understandable but utterly disappointing that you didn't invade 1000 other people to get the Ring of Blades +2, imagine the consistency boost!
He finished it and took down all the bosses, Ancient Dragon being the last. It took him literally years though and dozens of hours of failed boss attempts although his ruleset was a bit different because he did it naked too. Earlier tonight he lamented on stream how he’s going to be bombarded with messages about this but his response is basically that he doesn’t care because hotspur already did this years before either of them.
not sure if this would've been usefull, but what about trying to parry? if you misstime your parry, you won't get flung away, but you won't parry either, it's like a weird thinghy
I invoke the name of galakrond, the one, the ur-dragon. He who shall be born again, in saying that tye surely can defeat the ultimate souls borne challenge: finding those maidens everyone keeps mentioning. We have all tried and failed, tye is our only hope
I just finished playing Nier: Automata a few days ago and to hear some of the music behind the Flexile Sentry and The Lost Sinner Fight was wild. ( 10:57 )
The Covenant of Champions DOES remove the despawn function, as well as slightly boosting Item Discovery, at the cost of No Summoning, Boosted offenses, Defenses, and HP for enemies, and some new NPC invasions.
The fact the demon of song didn't take much damage from the grab must be because he has damage resistance when in grab animation. If it didn't then summons could go whack on it while it's hugging something
Got to university about a week ago and everything seemed kinda down for me, I’ve been rewatching your vids and I got happy when I saw this video being up, keep up the work tye Godspeed 🙏
6:45 - if modding the game is acceptable for challenge runs, I very VERY highly recommend the 'guaranteed item drops' mod on Nexus, it literally only ups your item-discovery number super duper high. It just saves you time, in the end, no benefits are granted that would not otherwise be achievable in game. Also a hint for anyone else, not just the OP. update - since you are on not-sotfs, this mod might not work, is only tested for sotfs version.
i remember using these rings in my first playthrough and thinking must be insane to use these in a actual build well I guess I was right because even with ur skills u must be insane lol loved the video
Tye is the ultimate tease He disappears for long periods of time Drops absolute heat Then disappears for another millenia Repeats No elaboration needed
Awesome as always tye! Don't be afraid to do a run that is just fun, and not miserable sometimes! Also, I want Alexander the jar. I've commented and am currently praying to my God
Since the challenge is doing damage with rings, a lesser youtuber would have justified the use of bare handed melee attacks, because normally thats where rings go. On your hands.... Normally... But knowing my boy, Sir Tye "Thicc Nipps" Taylor, he must be equipping them somewhere that makes it nigh impossible to be pickpocketed without him knowing.
