Dark Souls 2 teaches us something to remember when faced with many of life's great challenges: When lost and unsure of what to do, try taking off all your clothes.
_dUmBeSt SoLuTiOn_ it's called *_basic game mechanics._* and he managed. all because he used his head. thank you dark souls ii: hard edition, for teaching us basic logic by pushing us to our limits harder than the original ii.
Fun fact: the "Girls can be kings, too" was probably meant as a joke, but there actually was a female "rex" (king) in poland in 1384, as king and queen were actually primarily titles with slightly different sets of rules, so Queen Jadwiga was crowned king as to remain in a state of functional rule. So yeah. they actually can.
This channel is criminally underrated. I found this video in my recommended, which means you'll be getting more acknowledgment. I'm glad I found this channel.
14:20 About the "random ass update": There was an issue discovered in all souls games from released on pc where in online play, other players could insert items into your inventory (thus banning you), bricking your save, or even execute code on your pc (Random Code Execution or RCE). The servers for DS1-3 were shut down and from tried to fix these issues; the first update came to DS3 and DS2:SotFS was second to receive an update. While in DS2 the RCE seems to be fixed quite well, the inventory and save manipulation are still possible.
The champion’s covenant in Majula makes all enemies harder but causes them to respawn infinitely, also using a great shield you can stand on the ledge left of the big circle room that has the second lever! Great video, hope to see more!
Okay, that was amazing run. I did Ds2 consumables only run myself and there is a nice trick to beat Vendrick and many other hollow enemies. Blue Sentinel Targray sells holy water urns which deal an extreme amount of damage to the hollow enemies. Also firebombs scale from elemental bonuses which you get from leveling Int/Faith and throwing knives and poison build up scales from Dex.
I did that run and I still can't believe he made past shrine of amana without running or rolling. I literally re-specced into all stamina and ADP and run past every mob after hours of attempts.
Dark Souls 2 firebombs, you say? It appears I have been summoned. Welcome to the challenge run community - here's hoping the algorithm favors you and that you snowball quickly :)
You chimping out with excitement at 16:57 has me cracking up, I think we've all had a gaming moment lke that. This was amazing, and you've got a new sub! Hope the psych damage was worth it
I am so very happy to see more DS2 videos. And of great quality too. Also, just cause I didn’t see any comments about it, to refresh your memory: You don’t need to sue an ascetic to stop the spawn rates. There’s a covenant at the end of the cliff path besides the door to the way for Heide’s in Majula. There you will find the champion’s rock, and champion’s covenant, which is basically hardmode. Enemies are stronger, you are weaker, and respawn limits don’t exist. So you can farm without going to ng. I know it’s less effective technically, but just reminding for when you wanna do that at an area you didn’t kill the boss yet
One other method that would work for grinding Souls without having to use Bonfire Ascetics would be to use the Company of Champions Covenant. It prevents enemies from despawning. Great run, very entertaining. You earned yourself a Sub
Man, the fact that you did this on Scholar of the First Sin is insane. A lot of those stamina draining attacks are just non-existent in the normal version of Dark Souls II (also the normal game is just easier in general). I believe the giants' souls are easier to get (the ones that aren't from the dragon anyways). Props to you for sticking to your rules even when stamina-draining attacks were introduced! I know other RU-vidrs would've made an exception to those attacks so I'm glad you didn't.
Found this channel in my recommended by chance. I could NOT believe you only had 1k subs with the level of editing and your amazing voice for commentary. Wow. I'm subbed now. Keep this up, you're amazing
Glad to find this channel and hope it blows up. Plenty of challenge run channels out there but few who do these interesting sort of runs that make way for completely unique problems that need unorthodox or wacky strategies to get around them, and don’t get boring halfway through after getting settled into a build or method that can just be repeated for the rest of the run, making the challenge nearly obsolete. Will definitely watch every other video and will be looking out for the next one
I genuinely love your style my dude. The goofy poetry is honestly a big breath of fresh air from a lot of samey game channels, and your editing style is really fun. Coordinated single train of thought with plenty of silly stuff between
4:40 correct me if I`m wrong, but the Champions Covenant causes enemys to spawn indefinitely unless they went extinct before said covenant was activated
Great video! Though small, obscure correction about the enemy respawn; If you pledge to Company of Champions covenant, enemies keep respawning ad infinitum.
i came across your channel just yesterday, watching one shot run of ds1,24 hrs in i watched all of your dark souls content. you are already in my list of fav youtubers
About the attacks that take away stamina, technically you're not *using* the stamina when you get hit by one so it should be allowed imo, but that being against the rules made this challenge even more interesting
Hey man, great vid! Some advice for farming enemies: Joining the Company of Champions in Majula allows for infinite respawns of them while youre in the covenant. Hope it helps for future runs!
I’m beyond happy that I’ve found this channel. I’ve watched hours of your videos at this point. I’m ready to ride the rocket of your popularity with you. It’s very much deserved.
okay so i've officially watched all your voiced over videos and I have to say, holy crap you're an amazing content creator!! i'm BAFFLED you don't have 100x the viewers and subs you have now. you definitely deserve it. One thing: I enjoyed EVERY video and your comedy and rage are hilarious but try not to burn yourself out on agonizing challenge runs that as you say "aren't fun". you deserve to enjoy the content you create as well and after seeing the effort you put into these videos I can say i'm here for the long haul! I wanna see everything you create from now on
Just starting this video and imagining the hell of running out of items and having no souls and then finding an enemy you need to trick off a cliff to grind.
You could join covenant of champions to prevent mobs from despawing on 12th death. Infinite farms, just change covenant when doing smt else. Archdrake dudes actually use greathammer but are always a pain.
Great video. Very entertaining and interesting! It would be interesting to see what this run would look like if you used the moon butterfly set to poison enemies. A lot quicker for some enemies, and I'm sure it wouldn't have been very different for others that you couldn't get too close to.
I have no end of praise for you dude. Ive gave up on my all bosses consumables only run because I just wasn't having fun. I hated every minute of it so for you to do a run of consumables only without stamina is insane to me. Scholar has so fucking many enemies you go through all your consumables in 1 area. Add on how easy it is to miss your throws and good lord I didn't want to do it. Like it was no fun what so ever, so cuddos to you Jesus
Simply amazing, now I want to play ds2, and it's 3 am, nice run, it's so alien yet so close to ds1 that it made me curious about about all steps of the run, and I guess this only exposes this limited point of view, thanks for the amazing video! (English is not my 1st lang, Sorry for mistakes)
Holy fuck, what an amazing video. Supreme high quality content, perfectly paced challenge. But I dont see no fume knight dead, do I... Keep up the great videos man.
your challenge run is progressing at about the pace of my first casual run I too took 12 hours just to get to the lost sinner and I practically rushed her
Hey great challenge vid! Especially interesting watching someone who isn't too familiar with ds2 try something like this out. Few things tho, if you wanna farm enemies join the covenant of champs to respawn them infinitely and just revert back to whatever covenant to make your challenge easy again(or don't lol) Dark outdamages everything early game but is out damaged by black firebombs late game(when you have better stats) As far as I know dark also damages player stamina, at least from what I've experienced. I could be wrong but all those attacks that drained your stamina were also dark. Aldia doesn't say anything important or game changing(unless you're a lore guy that is). Lastly, poison knives are a thing and definitely better for this types of runs. It's slightly less effective than rat shit but the speed makes up for it. Gg, subbed
I put this and one other video on in a queue when I got home from work, passed out, and then while I was sleeping I heard the Nothing There "hello" 10 minutes in I woke up in a panic. Awesome video lmfao
A good tip for any other DS2 runs which require souls, but no easy way of killing enemies. Najka is a really easy boss fight, and once you kill her you can skip Doors and go straight to Tseldora. Once in Tseldora the enemies near all the rocks will almost always kill themselves trying to hit you with said rocks. It nets about 2k souls every time, and just requires a reload of the area to set back up. It is consistent and way easier than trying to farm souls in Heides. Another option is rushing through the enemies leading up to the Executioners chariot boss fight, jump across the gap before the red enemy, and watch as all the enemies decide to just walk off. This also nets around 3-4K souls per attempt, and is faster then the Tseldora method. It is however way harder to pull off consistently, and runs the risk of losing souls.
How am I just now finding this amazing channel???? Great content 👌 Edit: You can actually enter the Covenant of Champions to infinitely respawn enemies that aren't minibosses!
this was very a entertaining video, nice level of challenge and quite funny commentary. maybe someday in the future, if its not too much a toll on your sanity, you could try this challenge in the dlc?
