If having faith was easy then everybody would blindly do it without understanding why they have faith. This holy build is for those who can go through with it for better and for worse to show who really has faith.
I sorta understand what you’re trying to say but IMO a lot of people just pick a build early game and stick to it regardless. Like idk how good a faith build is personally because I never sunk enough points in to find out how much damage it does.
@@monhi64 Its pretty bad. I beat the tree sentinel at the start of the game so just kept using the golden halberd for the whole run (so a STR + FAI build). Only found out much later that the holy damage part did almost nothing when I watched youtube videos and so on, and even with me investing mostly into strength I saw how much more damage other builds (like bleed) got (and remember the golden halberd has built in golden vow)
Same experience here as @phenix2403 with the golden halberd. The difference for me is that I switched to the Godslayer Greatsword and instantly had a better time as it deals fire damage and has a great AoW. I also never used a faith spell again except for elden stars, like, once.
It's funny, I don't think they changed it's damage all that much over the patches, but in a single patch that changed it's FP usage from 9 to 3, msking people go from "ehhhh it's ok, kinda niche but you could run it sometimes" to "holy shit if you're a FTH build and are not running it you're playing the gane wrong"
Beat everything except Radabeast, he did Radagon but not Elden Beast since it was impossible including 10 starlight shards… (I was a viewer for all that challenge run hehe (Tyler Ninja Blevins is the goat))
I get the feeling Miyazaki coded holy into so many things yet made so few things weak to it not just for the story but because the idea behind the dlc resulted in the dlc being thrashed by it
It's honestly sad because golden order incantations are some of the coolest looking incants in the game, but almost all of them are virtually unplayable
Hey you know Litany of Proper Death can at the very least one-shot Deathbirds in NG+7 with the right set-up! Other than that it's pretty worthless even against Catacombs. I always just use the Golden Epitaph...
Golden order greatsword truly shines against enemies that can be flinched like misbegotten and omen. You flinch them with the initial blast and the follow up knocks them to the ground.
I did all of NG+ with discus of light and triple rings. Yes many bosses are resistant to holy, but only like 20-40% more than the other affinities. It is only a few bosses (and mobs like certain giants) that are extremely resistant to it to the point where you want to use something else. The vast majority of the game dies just fine to holy damage and in many cases is actually weak to it.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing tbh like it deffo makes the run harder but I'm sure it was significantly more boring to play and it's not particularly interesting to watch because that would suck with most damage types, there's so many bad weapons
>drink this >golden vow >howl of shabriri >switch to sacred talisman >2h the shield >use the jellyfish ash of war >drink a blue >one hand the seal >get a discus >deal the same damage of a +3 Claymore
Not using his ability was getting me stressed. Unlockable blade does HUGE poise damage for a fist weapon. Abuse the poise breaks and cast discus of light.
@@cesarbernardi1646 Sacred Blade is actually a fantastic ash of war for a large portion of the early game. It does suffer at higher levels, but it's fantastic at lower levels.
45:35(waterfowl spam), yeah I did a character that uses only gold lightning spells and used just spear lightning for Malenia cuz it casts the fastest. Since it was my first ever ranged attack build (I always use melee) imagine my shock to see her throw out a waterfowl dance almost always after each attack. Was easy to dodge cuz of the range but it dragged the fight (phase 1) for so much longer than it shudve. I also noticed all bosses fight different wen u use ranged builds. Like Morgott kept spamming dat jump and stab down with crossed spear and sword attack.
@@haku8135 no The Black Blade incantation, the Destined Death and Blade of Death skills all deal Holy Damage but they also have the effect that deals damage over time based on max HP and the max HP reduction The goal of the video was beating the game with only Holy Damage
@@kubomagico8853 That's still holy damage. The damage being dealt is being dealt by holy damage. Calculating the damage differently doesn't make it not holy damage. If you actually wanted to cherry pick the run you'd point out how he hit Loretta with a spear. Only the spears from the ground in that AOW are pure holy damage, the spear itself hitting deals physical damage.
Holy damage isn’t the weakest damage type. People only say it’s weak cause some endgame bosses are resistant to it. I’d go far to say the only bosses weak to holy are main bosses but most things die quick to holy damage
Honestly I don’t mind that holy damage isn’t that good for pve because faith builds in general are super overpowered, especially when you’re pairing it with another stat like str, dex, arc, or even int
I think the balance is the absolute obscenity of how much Holy does to undead, so it has to be trash everywhere else. Tibia Mariners and Death Rite Birds don't stand a chance. And yeah, Malenia spams Waterfowl Dance more often if you're staying at range and using projectiles.
I get so excited every time I see an upload from you and you just know you got a good 30-60 minutes of great entertainment! Much love from Sweden and keep it up!
litany of proper death seems to have some weird hidden property where it's not only pure holy damage, but its also specifically only effective against "those who live in death" or whatever like others say, its absolutely insane against revenants, deathbirds, skellies, and the various other undead mobs around the lands between, but literally nothing else for me personally, i love the spell. fits really well with the cleric/white mage type of roleplay to me, which i always gravitate to RPGs. in final fantasy 1 dia/diara/diaga does amazing damage but only to undead enemies and doesnt affect the living at all, i just treat it like that. i always keep it slotted
Very entertaining, you aught to try stars and bubbles against really large hitbox targets, when you get full value they do a ton of damage excusing the long cast time. Better for co-op or summon tanking
I'm on my first playthrough and just killed Morgott with my holy-imbued godskin stitcher and my discus of light because I think the idea of holy damage is cool, I had no idea it was shit 😭😭
I just played Elden ring for the first time recently and was enjoying holy incants alongside melee and Litany of Proper Death was a MAJOR letdown. Insanely low damage and that slow casting...it should be buffed.
@@swag8724 if you want to keep using holy and want something that will make you feel better about the low damage from litany check out my most recent holy damage video
the ash of war sacred ring of light, miquella's ring of light, golden land, sacred phalanx have a swing animation which hitbox deal the split holy/physical damage that you hit with, doesnt really invalidate the run but wanna see if you are so cracked up enough to re do it out of fussiness.
It's a pet peeve of mine to know people dont believe that holy dmg can be good, my favorite build is a fundamentalist build i've made, the discus of light shreds enemies hp and only costs 3 fp and has great range, litany of proper death shreds deathbirds hp very quick, to me it felt easy mode ...right untill radagon where I had to let go of the spells and use my magic erdtree knife 😂😂😂
I can’t follow what those buffs are for the life of me. Why tf is surprised when basically glitched the game buffing with the shield twice. Like how tf do you even
@@firestargaming9521it doesn't really matter. He still beat literally everything else with pure holy damage, and I doubt that little bit of physical damage made any difference in the outcome of the fight, let alone the run
When you were using the golden order greatsword I think you inadvertently did some physical damage, when using the aow if the weapon makes contact you do physical and holy damage, the projectile does pure holy damage....I believe anyways I could be wrong, great video none the less 👏👏
