The discovery of the ice shrine's radius being much larger than once thought and that ACTUALLY being viable for speedruns made me physically gasp. This was such an amazing video! Good job!
For the snowball one at around 7:30, I know for a fact that it’s possible without the shieldclipping, because on my first playthrough I completely forgot that cryonis existed and just carried the snowball down until it was close enough to the shrine that I could just drop it and it would roll there normally.
Me niether if i’m remembering correctly i just went up the mountain and it opened te door but it has been a while betwenen both of my all shrince playthroughs
He might have just created an entire new speedrun category that would be called All Shrines Runeless. This man is seriously remarkable in the Zelda community for his discoveries.
As an extremely casual player, it's always so fun to watch speedrunners do their thing. This is a level of dedication and technical skill that I do NOT strive for, but it's so cool to see the routing, the way the community comes together, and the absolutely bonkers workaround solutions to what should be easy tasks, no matter the game. I haven't even completed all the shrines myself, and I was STILL blown away by your discovery and the implications it has for the BotW speedrunning community. Incredible work! Also that trick you did for the last shrines where you had Link basically kick the ball over the gate? Super cool visual :)
Man, gotta love just the overlap between speedrunning and challenge running. Both use a bunch of glitches to complete the game in unintended ways, but one is being as obtuse as possible while the other is being as efficient. They'll use the same exploits in completely different situations and often in different forms too. But every now and then, their shared love of glitches and disdain for what should be possible works to come up with random link falling noise worthy nonsense that rewrites the route of several different categories.
Can't believe "Twee hee!" Saved the day. Amazing video, I love videos like this which aren't just huge difficult challenges but explain how certain parts of the game work which give a better understanding to the viewer and player.
I find it interesting that the monks stop you from completing the shrines if you haven't collected the runes, it seems like a way to prevent accidental softlocking but I can't see it ever happening to most players without intentionally going out of their way to miss the runes. I could see a curious player trying to brute-force their way through the Stasis shrine, and also the Bomb shrine if they knew that the sledgehammer could break stone blocks at the very least.
I really thought this was just going to be, can you get to the end of each shrine without runes? Had no idea how in depth and intense this would be. Very impressive
I am so glad to see this video, I attempted this challenge back in 2020 and i remember getting all but maybe 7 shrines? Seeing how you discovered such a huge discovery in order to get those ones was amazing to see. Huge congratulations on being the first person to beat this challenge
Also a side note, If you use the DLC and get the bomb arrows on the great plateau then you can use them to move the blocks in the magnesus shrine in order to either set scew with the staircase or with the blocks themself depending on how they land which i found to be a lot easier than trying to set it on the edge of the platform
I just started glitching and messing around with BOTW and I have to say, I’ve never seen or heard of you before, but I started looking up glitches and I happened to stumble across this video and I’m so glad I did. All I can say is wow, this is one of the most jaw dropping challenge runs/BOTW videos I’ve ever witnessed. If I could sub twice right now I would. Can’t wait to see more awesome content in the future!
Have you seen Kleric's video on how he managed to open all the chests that were out of bounds? I think that's probably the most absurdly involved (and well-made) showcase of the variety of crazy glitches that people have found in the game.
I just wanted to say I really love how well-put together this video is. The editing + voice over and just overall a very interesting video. I think it's so awesome that you discovered a new speedrun strat, and a really simple + important one as well. Very cool stuff :)
I'm not one for speed runs & glitching games, mostly because it would require more time and dedication into a single game than I'm willing to devote to, but holy "UWAAAA!!!!!" that was indeed incredibly impressive. Mega props to you for pulling off something in this game that I doubt _anyone_ could've believed possible. _Especially_ the designers.
what a masterclass is that ??! I'm absolutely passionate by the quality of the editing, the reactions and of course the challenge given ! Congratulations so much !
One of those videos where a half hour feels like nothing because it's so entertaining. Incredibly well done! The skill and problem solving on display is really something else
This was an amazing video Lim! The fact that you managed to discover something that has speedrun applications is insane, really cool challenge that was genuinely fun to watch, glad to see you still killing it man
Talk about pushing a game to its absolute limits and achieving what many might’ve thought to be impossible to achieve. Even going so far as to change the meta along the way - beyond impressive! 👏
Noooo way!! That new radius discovery is huuugee!!! It's amazing to see that this incredibly fun and well executed challenge idea did not only give us this super entertaining video but also had an impact on the speedrunning part of the community. I'm so amazed, this is one of the craziest BOTW videos I''ve watched in a while :D
7:23 its actually possible to reach the shrine runeless and without shield clip if you throw the snow ball from one specific spot off to the left from the pond
Wow, Limcube. I'm a huge fan now, just because of this one video. Amazing job! It probably feels astounding to change glitching runs forever! Incredible work, man! Hope you discover more!
Really amazing watching this stream seeing the collaboration with and feeling the excitement between you and your viewers while succeeding in solving these problems! Great video Lim
Subscribing after this. This video was so well done, very captivating, I sat through and watched the entire thing from front to end and it didn't even feel like half an hour. I could have watched much longer, this was amazing and a wonderful experience. Congratulations to be the first one to make many discoveries and records in BOTW!!
Amazing video! This was so fun to watch on stream and was such a cool idea. BotW continues to deliver as an amazing, glitch filled, fun game! Thanks Lim! 😎
This video is done so well, what the hell, I have very little experience with breath of the wild yet the editing and amazing commentary/gameplay made me understand everything going on, incredibly informative and Interesting, also the impact your discovery could have on speed running is extraordinary. Incredible Job Man, keep up the great work.
superb video. i felt like i was watching a film, you had challenge, triumph and great music. had a huge grin on my face about the community and taking advice from chat and speedrunners and glitch hunters, great video!!
You're a botw legend for doing all these creative challenges Limcube! And hey, look what came out of this one, a new speed strat and an awesome video as always! ggwp!
This is by far one of my favorite "niche little seemingly-unrealistic challenge" videos; Having such a dedication to that little challenge that you and your community learn new things about how a method that was thought to be fully understood worked. Very poggy content, and I appreciate the hell out of your curiosity, dedication, and patience.
Brilliantly put together video, I love it when challenge runs end up creating a new speedrun tactic. The commentary throughout was engaging, easy subscription decision here.
vielen dank, dass du alles so detailiert erklärst! das video ist sehr gut geschnitten und auch die länge ist optimal. bin gespannt, was für videos zu totk noch kommen werden von dir!
That was a super cool run to watch. I've followed BOTW glitches only a little bit. Just enough to know moon jumping was a thing, but it was remarkable seeing all of them put into action. Also huge congrats on bringing a new glitch into light. Super cool to see Koroks now being used in such a unique way.
Very awesome video! This just came up in my recommended and it did not disappoint! I love challenge runs with weird ways to complete it. Awesome that you found a new strat that will change some speedrun.
Great video! Had my eyes glued the entire time. Even as someone who doesn’t really care for speed running I could tell just how huge that discovery was.
Man this was an amazing watch! I found you at the end of 2019 and adored learning so many new things about my absolute favorite game. This video feels like a perfect culmination of all the skills, glitches, and strategies you and the entire BOTW community has learned over the last several years. The cherry on top was getting to discover a new strategy in the process of completing this challenge. What an insane journey and an incredibly entertaining video! PS The song you used for the montage at the end is a true BOP if I’ve ever heard one! I thought for sure it was the theme song to some show I watched in childhood or something and was shocked that it wasn’t. Definitely feels like the kind of song you feel like you should know and was a perfect song to finish out the vid!
That was wild, a viable discovery this long after launch, this is like almost as big as the discovery of the campfire glitch to get the master sword and stuff
Wow, this was amazing watch. Bravo to even trying the challenge with this much uncertainty around it, let alone finding these new discoveries. Yall have come so far with this game.
What a grand challenge and Im not too shocked you did it. A challenge I’m doing right now is Hyrule Tourist. Ever since the offset glitch found a few days ago, I’ve been building a transfer file. Now I have a true 100% no map! Along with no towers, shrines or warping, all I wanna do is take pictures without hearing battle music (basically pacifist run) The ninja photographer? I know moon jump wrong warping for essence would be a way to get no map and escape the great plateau BUT then the old man is gone 😂
I made a new account, played through the great plateau and cheesed the master sword, then the final trials, then the four champion’s quests and got enough loot to start the transfer. I didn’t get any extra slots from hestu on my file to ensure that if I did this glitch that I would get everything. Along with only having enough items to sell, just to transfer the main gear. I find that this method always gives me 4, as long as I stand away from the counter. I’m dropping/equipping my bows, with menu overloaded active, I pause and hold 4 items then unpause and pull out my bow with ZR and unequip the bow with the quick menu. BEFORE selling the rest of the same 4 items previously picked, and then I sell them, and step away to pause and hold my 5th item. Drop it and pick it up. (That’s 4 slots completed) Then pull out my bow with ZR and pause, I’m still overloaded, so I just hold another 4 items, unpause, then again use ZR to pull out my bow and use the quick menu (D-Pad) to unequip the bow, pause, sell the 4 items and pause and hold the 5th item, to then drop it. (That’s 8) after completing this until I get enough to cover my inventory. The slots are corrupted from right to left and bottom to top. I have 7 key items, no meals, sellable items, 4 armor pieces, 4 shields, 6 arrow types, 5 bows(including the BoL) , and 2 swords = 28 slots needed. So I need 28 different sellable items with at least 2+ count of the items. After getting 28 slots ready, I use my travel medallion to get to ganon phase one, clap his cheeks, then obtain the bow on my horse, ensuring that it fits within the first 5 slots. Because the new game + won’t be able to load in a slot it doesn’t have. I clip out of the shrine of resurrection, get an auto save after clipping out, (clipping optional) then get a weapon, a shield, and a bow, and then walk around and get another auto save. If everything is done, you can quit the game to disable your offset and then open it back and see if it worked. Remember never to save manually until you see that you have everything. Note: the new file you want the loot items on should have picked up one weapon one shield and one bow. Then drop them all before you close the game. Better yet, before you load the file, go pick up one of each weapon just to get the screen text box animation thing. I’m guessing that the game says “he can’t have loot, he hasn’t gotten the picked-up loot box animation box notification thingy” Good luck and thanks Botw Glitch hunters
really cool video dude, always love seeing these bizarre and seemingly-impossible challenges unfold. congrats on completing the challenge and changing the botw speedrunning game while doing so
I really enjoyed this video, it has such a unique premise compared to most Botw challenges I've seen and made use of a whole bunch of cool tech and knowledge, some I've never seen before (also I legit had no idea the stone sledgehammer broke cracked blocks and walls till this video). Congrats on the new deload discovery by the way!
HOLY SHIT This is an AMAZING video showing something I didn’t even THINK was possible, out of everything in the game I thought the camera runes would be the one thing the game had in terms of needing runes. I knew about moon jump and shield clipping but, I did not expect the annoying koroks to be the solution to beat every shrine without even using something that was thought to be required. MAJOR props to you man. This video was awesome to watch.
What an epic video to watch for one of my favourite games. A perfect watch for myself who is currently I'll and taking a break from making videos. Thank you!
I kinda dig the sped up beat you created fast forwarding your insane pause buffering trick 😁 This entire run is absolutely bonkers. You’re a legend, dude.
Dude I don't know shit about BotW speedruns but this is incredible and I"m very proud of you for finishing this and happy you went out of your way to put this together to share it for us. Great vid.
I love everybody's involvement in this video. The live theory crafting with chat! The crazy things actually working! "I'm so convinced that this won't work"
