Don't think Factorio has SkyBlock, but it definitely has SeaBlock, which is horribly complicated, if DoshDoshington's three-part run of it is anything to go by. Then again, I've been playing Nullius, and that's plenty complicated, too.
@@Roxor128 It's not that bad tbh. Some growing pain in the start from learning bob's inserters techniques, and just standing around and afking until you can proceed but after that it's just let a land fill maker run while you play and you'll have a lotta fun
@@GeneralZimmer Yeah, mostly agree, except for the part where you need to make 38098203420240981 different builds for all the unique items that are needed. :)
A lot of challenge runs in gaming history are interesting to say the least. In Factorio specifically it seems like the challenge runs are focused on "How can you make a run as painful as possible"
@@MrGorgothmadd no shot. At base movement speed it would take almost 62.5 hours just to reach the edge from the center. Even if diagonal movement doesn't slow you down and you can do both horizontal and vertical at the same time, just to switch ore would take over five days walking.
I tried looking for it, but wasn’t able to find it. They might be talking about DaveMcW’s video "13x9 Micro Factory", but that’s on a different map that also doesn’t need mining.
DocJade doing charity advocacy for Factorio players on MacBooks here. This is how you maintain 20 UPS 1% lows. That’s right! It’s playable. F to pay respects for MacBook players.
I did not expect my favourite joke on RU-vid to come from a factorio video I told my self was “one last thing before bed” but the Star Wars crawl crafting slapped particularly hard. Congrats on dethroning Tomskas “The Hole” as the favourite of one random RU-vid commenter. Truly the pinnacle of comedy awards
You are a crazy person, and I'm here for it. You really just went at this blind? Seriously? OMG. I assumed this had involved a ton of planning, and knowing how much you need when, etc. But watching it, this does not seem to be the case!
I think you can do this in 11x9: launching a rocket in a silo costs less energy than 4 accumulators can hold, so you can charge them, on the left side with a pole in the middle, and then place the rocket silo next to it, you'll need efficiency modules and a lot more resources, but it's possible. (unless I missed something)
@@DocJade So I've been cooking a little and managed to launch one using 3 efficiency 3 and 1 speed 4 module, it's still minimum energy but goes 50% faster which is how you barely have enough energy left at the end. But honestly the biggest problem is logistics, you need so many items and you only have one spot left for a chest. I fiddled around with having 600 bots carrying them via personal roboports, but it just was barely not enough. Maybe someone with more of a clue on how bots work can figure it out Edit: it's also absolutely necessary to landfill the water Edit2: Maybe you can do it by "storing" items in the crafting queue
Interesting idea And this is one of the reasons I love the Factorio community Everyone is always doing something different and pushing the boundaries Great video
I don't know what's worse. That someone is so masochistically inclined that he plays Factorio on a 7x12 map, or that I watch it? All joking aside, hats off to you for your performance and perseverance.
Soooo... with some testing you can go smaller. A silo with 3 efficiency modules, and 1 speed module, can build and launch a rocket with the power from 4 fully charged accumulators. If you build a couple of spidertrons to hold all the inventory you'd need (since you can't place chests, and need a full 1000 of each ingredient for the rocket), you could landfill the water for the last stage and complete the rocket in an 11 x 9 world.
DocJade videos are always crazy and funny to watch, love the random jokes like the star wars crafting menu as well. Bit too heavy on the science queue shoutouts sometimes, explaining builds would be more interesting than going over the science completions
The way that you shorten 24 hours of monotony into a jump cut and three words gives this video the exact same vibes as an OSRS video. I feel like I'm watching Settled 😂
How do you even take damage with no biters and no need for vehicles and weapons??? Did you blow up a nuclear reactor? Did you waterfill yourself? Did you misclick several times in quick succession while handling grenades for black science?
My total playtime on this game is just over 20 hours. My mind is boggled by the determination you have to sit in a tiny world making tiny amounts of tiny things, then tearing it all down to make a new tiny factory.
Maybe a nice idea for a speedrun would be this except that you can fast forward while afking (= standing still with no inputs for > 20 seconds can be counted as afking for this purpose), and the afking doesn't count towards the final time. It will then become optimisation of the time needed to change setups.
I'd love to see each of the "specialized" 12x9 segments separated by a 1 tile space and connected with logistic networks. Kinda like a computer chip and the robots travel along the wires of the logi networks
lol the green circuit series wasnt recorded in a way where that's possible, while I was making the krastorio series I kept all of the audio files separate so I could make the supercut later :P
If we had the alpha boilers (which were 1x1), you should technically be able to do this on an 11x9 platform (steam engine is 2 wide, so you'd still need at least that (you'd also need the old steam engine, cause in those days, steam was just hot water)). It's very nearly possible with the current boiler, but you wouldn't be able to get the steam out (unless you can rotate a boiler such that some of it is sticking off the map?) Anyway, nicely done! Excited to see what next self torture, I mean, challenge run, you do next!
challenge idea, beating factorio at x10 speed but much harder biters. try n make a functioning base or smth. thank you so, so much for the subtitles btw
Great run! Thank you for such a long shot! Btw, why you didn't use bots to clear land and switch from producing one resource to another? It could've save you nerves while you producing all the science again and again😅
The only thing I thought for all of this video was... MAKE CONSTRUCTION BOTS and use them with personal drone station, geez, that was hell of building mostly same blueprints over and over and over again all by yourself
828 HOURS??? dude... ddude! 🌠🌟🌟 many names for this type of interaction: TinyTorio, MiniTorio, ClastroTorio, ENdMeNoWTorio haha endless names for this run, oof. Great job on the marathon run, great edits too
Even with speed mods this looked very tedious. Uh.. great job! :D I was left wondering what you think you would do diffrently if you had to do it again?
