As a long time Black Powder weapon user, you can ABSOLUTELY use them all the way through. It's a matter of having the right ones for the right job! Kudos, dude!
Ngl my most powerful weapon rn is one i got off a scorched queen. Level 20 black powder legendary that has vampire, juggernaut, and extra projectile. Pair that with a 60% chance to get waaaay more ammo than i put into the bodies of my foes, and my sigma grindset for caps is now killing anything that moves and harvesting .50 balls to sell for cheap. Just sold 2k worth to some maniac in a civil war dress. I do 287 damage every time i fire. I blow anything i look at away, including one-shotting fucking over level supermutants
The answer is Yes, with caveats. Only if you had a full (100 plus) company to volley fire with bayonets, rations of salt pork, some rice, some backy, hard tack, some pop skull or apple jack, coffee, sugar a musical instrument( banjo, mouthharp, fiddle) needle and thread and pards to swap stories with!
@@blitzbyte97 I was a former Civil War reenacter. The was a inside measure that was common amongst us. It was called "Farby" and which we judged each others authenticity with. It came from a saying " Far be it from me to tell you your equipment, foods, mannerisms and words are not authentic" So, to be called farby ment you are not as serious as you should be. More catty that drag queen in comparisons lol. Frankly, I don't know if you be totaly authentic but it's still a cool thing you did, bro.
Perks to use as Civil War soldier; Rifleman, anti-tank, gun-fu, gun-basher, incisor, long-shot, gunsmith lvl 1-4(as higher plans for black-powdered weapons requires it), gunslinger level 1-3, luck of the dawn, tormentor, quick hands, critical savy. and better criticals. This build would make the video longer but more fun on a stream-based video. Sad they nerf semi-auto rifles after latest dlc of casino-resort. Who wanna add to this?
Thanks for showing Fallout 76 instead of just installing mods for 4. While I love 4, 76 has so many more perks, weapons, etc. Something I hope Fallout 5 takes and runs with. Love the video.
@@andrewcullen2527The overall feel of the game is something that can't be replicated, West Virginia is such a unique setting with unforgettable environments.
The US Civil War had people using lever action rifles. If that’s not in this video, I’m gonna be mad. Air powered rifles were around before the US Civil War One was used during the Lewis and Clark expedition.
and never forget revolvers too. or the early black powder prototypes of the maxim machine gun. yes it exists, I think either forgotten weapons or Johnathan Fergusson covered it.
I've personally never played Falout 76, but if there are any missle-based weapons, they could've been used as there were missles during the Civil War, such as the Hayden missle, used for shooting lines to sinking ships. There was also a myth of a two-stage, twelve foot long rocket sent from Richmond, Virginia, almost 120 miles to Wahington DC. But as I said, that was just a myth.
technically they also had revolvers but those were officer weapons not conscript weapons, there were also lever action rifles created that saw use in the civil war albeit in smaller quantities compared to black powder. Seems even back then people were averse to newer technology, even if it made their lives easier lol. There are tons of weapons that 'might' be in 76 that could fit those roles so that you aren't limited in weaponry. I haven't loaded up 76 in awhile so I don't know whats there.
They weren't averse to technology, It was more so about the expense of outfitting everyone with lever action weapons if I could recall, plus it's difficult to do mid war upgrades without plans to manufacture such equipment in great quantities.
This is a pretty good video. Love the audio quality and the editing. For only 401 subs, you tell an impressive tale. Glad to be one of the 401 people who feel the same way. Good luck!
Next I think you should try a hunter build Your weapons would be limites to the hunting and lever-action rifle, double and pump shotguns, and the most exciting part, all the bows (I'm kinda 50/50 on the crossbow). Maybe the harpoon gun should count too but thats starting to feel like a stretch. The melees are just the usual knifes and the like. For apparel, since it's a hunter build almost any should do, although I think you should try and get the deathclaw hunter outfit specifically bc it looks the part (headpiece optional). Anyways good luck on your next challenge whatever it may be and best wishes for your channel 👍
@@blitzbyte97 Personally i found the revolutionary sword, to be the best. And it would be kinda historically as several guns from the civil war had sword bayonets.
@@eaSTS9 I mean that wasnt always true, the most common bayonet was a socket bayonet which did not work as a sword. Again sword bayonets where kinda like the name suggests a sword with a attachment to allow it to be attached to a rifle.
I remember actually rp ing as a civil war soldier that was abducted and frozen like that samurai in mothership zeta wearing a union uniform and only using black powder
I’m currently playing as a Bloodied Civil War Soldier. With all 3 Gunslinger & Rifleman perks active at rank 3. I’m currently level 370 with all Legendary perk card slots so that helps
@@blitzbyte97 problem with the gatling gun was it's weight combined with the price of the weapon and the price of the ammo needed to feed the weapon thanks to it's high rate of fire for the time, as in real life said gatling gun actually fired as fast as you turned the crank
Only gripes ive got so far is you restricted yourself on some weaons too much like the knuckle weapons and shovel, I would argue that things like the Girardoni Air Rifle which existed in 1780 could work as a justification for using the syringer if you cant find a direct example but fair enough if you choose thats too out there for it, otherwise a great vid
Too bad they don't have the colt navy or the remington m1858, I bet there weren't lots of soldiers running around with single-shot muzzle loaders and sidearms...
Reminds me of how back when I played I needed something ranged for my melee build and I decided to start collecting black powder pistols. I'd have my big smashy hammer on one hotkey, stimpaks on another, but then the rest would be entirely filled by the pistols lmao, felt like I was cosplaying a shitty wasteland pirate
You forgot the revolver. They had cartrages the last months of the war. Its not the .44 but the other. You can find it by the lake by a skeliton acrosst the first big farm you would find outside of the vault.
The civil war wasn't all muskets and flintlocks it was around the period that black powder cap and ball guns were being phased out notably the guns used were the single action navy/army and the winchester lever action point is you didnt have to limit yourself to muskets and such for this run
It’s funny living in the ohio valley and watching fallout 76 videos and people roll up to shit like at most an hour away The very location i was born is in this game
My first and main character had used black powder weapons since beginning of the game as well had used both against PvP and PvE. Able to shot everything before nerfs to two shot and explosive before the damage cap to PvP I would greatly part take in PvP after I could not one shot players no more and stealth boys being the main reason I stop pvp. Over time I collect a lot of rifles many being legacy like a two shot explosive the dragon with 400 range. And after the explosive change making weapons deal 3% weapons before the patch my rifles had now deal 20% meaning many rifles I have now are also legacy's. I does not look much but example would be 315 normal damage but with 20% it deals 416 with max explosives.
I never got the level up system for weapons in fallout 76, yeah it’s fun to work your way up to being the strongest, but what is stopping you from picking up a bolt action and using it? Also I’m personally in the 500 levels and I’ve literally worked my ass off to get the best of the best shit and Bethesda still won’t up the damage on the higher level weapons, so it still takes over a 1000 rounds of 2mm bloodied mini rail gun (top strongest enemy killing weapon) to take down scorch beast queen like comeeeee onnnnnnn 😂 And let’s not even mention it takes over 1000 plasma cartridges with the enclave flamer, with the best legendaries (I have 4 different variants and tested them all to extreme extents) to kill the same scorch beast Queen. With that hard of a weapon to get, it should only take one mag, 300 plasma rounds to kill, not three… smh why is Bethesda always sucking
I personally think that having some nerfs is necessary to keep the game fun. I mean, if I can kill the Scorch Beast Queen by myself in one go, it's not really a fun challenge anymore. That being said, I agree that higher leveled players should get better damage. Especially if you're over level 100.
I’m scared as a person who used to live in hellvisha a small down in Randolph county wv it’s actually really 2 places mashed together Pickens and hellvisha the school was. K-12 with 49 kids in it I now live in Philippi wv weirdly enough we do have a museum a small one nothing like the one in game area actually has some mummy in it that floated down the river when it flooded hellvisha dose not have a museum sadly tho the museum in the game is a post office / general store
@@blitzbyte97 it didn't last long sadly , unlike my still bugged revolver Ever had a quadruple revolver? Cause mine would have 367 ammo and could reload, then he was bugged like that but was indestructible, and now he has around 97 ammo but can't reload Had a flamethrower that was op but since they reworked the furious legendary perk it does less damage
@@blitzbyte97 hey i know it's been 3 weeks but i started playing on pc now and found a legendary bloodied black powder pistol and immediatlty thought about you
To anyone else searching for a Dragon go to the White springs Resort and trade with one of the Assaultron vendors they'll have a sign labeled something vendor I forgot the name
Can you beat it as an anti Bethesda/ anti game/ anti game violence/anti black humor Person.. Debuffs are - you can't buy ANYTHING..not even the game. - you can't talk to people to prevent offensive humor. -also.. you can only use speech, not weapons 😂 -you can't play the game cause you hate games
