I love the idea of combining this run with a skyrim run of only being able to use the vampire spell "Vampiric Drain" and relying on that to heal you and be your damage for the entire playthrough
Here's one for you: If you start with Agility 1, Luck 1 and take the Good Natured trait, you can start the game with a Guns skill of _zero_ . So, Can you beat Fallout New Vegas with (EDIT) a guns skill of 0 while restricted to using ONLY guns?
No healing? Sounds like a basic challenge. But thinking about it, it's very interesting to watch. The restraint alone and the patience needed is incredible.
Yeah it originally was gonna be without taking any damage but the I realised that would basically just mean avoiding all combat with speech checks so really a slower version of a pacifist run, something I have already done so figured this might prove a little more interesting in terms of a video :)
@Nerbit It most certainly is. Limiting yourself to no healing pretty much makes you lose out on almost everything in the game, but makes the ending with the challenge complete all the more satisfying.
@@ryanthemostwantedfurry1281 You should check out Many A True Nerd’s “You Only Live Once” run, where he tackles the whole game and all DLCs with no healing. He also did the same run in Fallout 3 and Fallout 4.
I bet there's a bunch, but the ones I can think of off the top of my head are: -Fighting in the enemy's uniform (just choose whoever, though I think BoS, Gunners or Institute would be more in line, as all other factions are technically not an organized force and use makeshift armor) - Inflicting unnecessary suffering (just Molotov them a bunch and leave them be) - Targeting civilians (pretty self explanatory) - Flamethrowers and chemical weapons are prohibited I'm pretty sure (HalluciGen gas grenades (or the grenades you get from the Operators and Disciples) and Flamer) - Firing on surrendered/retreating enemies - Overall just f*ck up settlers wherever you go
I did this a long time ago with the same weapon back in.. 2011? 2013? Not because I was obsessed with avoiding damage, simply because I wanted to kill every single enemy in the game without being detected. I also ate every possible enemy as well, simply because I always take cannibalism in every game that offers it.
I absolutely love the situation of Lanius patiently and honorably waiting for Nerbit to come up to him and confront him face to face but nerbit just crouches down at the bottom of the hill, making direct eye contact as nerbit takes a bunch of drugs and starts to load a high powered sniper rifle with explosive rounds
@@TheTruepanther I've seen Legion soldiers pack .44 magnums, hunting rifles, trail carbines, marksman carbines, lever-action shotguns, and reportedly even anti-material rifles - but I've never seen a single Legionnaire bring an energy weapon to a fight.
Heres a challenge for you, in New Vegas when you set your strength to 10 Doc Mitchell says that you could go deathclaw hunting with a switch(blade), so can you go deathclaw hunting (and beat the game) with a switch?
So I assume one of the rules is he must go and kill every Deathclaw in every guaranteed Deathclaw spawn? That's; Primm Pass, Gypsum Trainyard, Nellis Tunnel Entrance, Quarry Junction, Dead Wind Cavern, and the Deathclaw Promontory. Did I miss any?
A switch is a type of swatting implement, often used in corporal punishment. The closest to a switch would be a police baton. Killing Deathclaws with a switchblade isn't that hard anyway, it's my go-to weapon when doing the Pro Deathclaw Hunter GRA challenge.
Getting the flare gun would be around half the challenge, with the sentry bots in the silo, and around a half mile sprint with marked men firing at him to the underpass, unless he can find one before
Pretty impressive to see this done, especially being so reckless against the Omertas - though we all saw that coming lmao. Really made use of that whole healthbar by the end! (if anyone is interested in a longer form version of this challenge which covers much more of the game including DLC and how you might do certain stuff, I recommend MATN's new vegas YOLO series. one healthbar for the whole game, slightly different rules but a similar concept)
I love how this is just a quick and concise version of Many a True Nerds yolo runs, which is what I have come to appreciate about your channel, your videos are 'quick', comedic and enjoyable to watch, keep it up.
Run idea: Beating New Vegas as The Postal Dude You can only heal using junk food, you must become addicted to every drug and you can have Rex as a companion (to replace his dog). Whatever weapons and faction choices you want are up to you, plenty of weapons in Postal 2 are in New Vegas too
Your jokes and edits.... Man they are something. Ok I'm having Surgery on December 8th and will be laid up for awhile. I'm going to need you to do a few videos a day for 6 weeks. But you can take Christmas off. Love your videos
I have thought about it but I'm not sure if it's possible because of the first Alduin fight as he is waiting for you as soon as you recover from reading the Elder Scrolls, although now that I am typing this .thinking that maybe chugging an invisibility potion as soon as you can may circumvent this... we shall see :)
I have been binging your videos for a while now, and I absolutely love them. You have a voice that is easy to listen to, thanks to your irish accent XD. And you always keep things interesting. I started watching these types of videos with Mitten Squad, and honestly that is how I found you. I'm glad I did.
I was thinking, and i might have a fun run in-mind. "Can you beat Fallout 4, with only the Hunting Rifle?" In Fallout 76 it is 1 of my favorite early-game weapons to use with the .50 call conversion as it is rediculously ammo-efficient, and has insanly high early-game damage (For the early lvl's atleast). Would be fun to see you clip a few baddies with a .50 call straight trough the head, especially that kidnapping son of a b****
Radio delivery is an extremely important job he has to track people down throughout the entire Mojave Wasteland meaning he needs to be strong enough to stand toe to toe against Deathclaws.
Sorry, but this is one of those runs where I know the answer is "yes, because ManyATrueNerd has done a full series on this". Others in this include "FO4 with the Shredder" as that was the primary damage dealer in Jons FO4 melee run, "FNV kill everyone and kill no one" since those were the first two series that put Jon's name on the map. Also, as far as the armor goes, since both the Mechanist and Antagonizer armors have the same stats, the former was used in Jon's FO3 KE run, though he went by "The Great Brit-Ant".
Your intro gave me an idea. You should do TF2 class themed runs. Example being Soldier, only able to use rocket launchers, rarely shotguns, and shovels
I love FNV, and I am weirdly attached to my Varmint Rifle. I use that thing as my main weapon unless presented with a Very Spicy Enemy who requires the literal big guns. It's a point of pride and enjoyment to take out a big bad with a low powered rifle
There is a run like this called "Fallout New Vegas You Only Live Once" it was Done by a youtuber named Many A True Nerd and it was a full in-depth challenge doing all dlc on a single health bar I feel like I have to mention it because it is what got me to play new Vegas and remains one of my favorite videogame challenges that I have yet to attempt
Can you bear F:NV as a Bright Follower? You must loot all 9 dead Bright Followers as soon as you're able and those are the only weapons and armor you can use for the rest of the game. You must also complete Come Fly With Me by getting the Bright Followers to the moon AND doing the science check at the end to give them a better chance to get to the moon. After that, who you side with or how you complete the game is up to you
This triggered fond memories of MATN Jon and his yolo run. Dude had to implement a true health counter because NV sneakily regenerates your health in the background
Holy shit that was clutch man! Just found your channel yesterday and been marathoning all of your New Vegas Content non stop hahaha I am definitely playing the game again now, thanks for the awesome content
Here’s a run idea, can you beat Skyrim with the “Arniel's Convection” spell. It’s one of if not the weakest destruction spell in the game but it costs zero magicka to cast.
Skyrim with No healing I feel like would be a challenge since there's so many random encounters that give you damage, that an majority of quests have you going into precarious situations. However, this is Nerbit we're talking about here so there's nothing he can't do
This is basically a more forgiving No Damage run (that's been done before) but it's nice to see a slightly different version of the challange. Nice video :)
I feel like, as with a lot of Nerbit challenges, this one isn't an 'if' because the answer is almost always 'Yes, but seriously, don't.' It's more of a 'How would you go about'.
I love that the radio man was able to not only kill the ants, but in my mind he could've probably taken down the Fort if he truly wanted to. Also funny idea for a run, next run I would like to see is this but in Fallout 4. Great videos, love the channel and you are one of the main reasons that I love Fallout.
Nerbit has another F:NV run where the NCR Radio Ranger actually managed to spawn INSIDE the Legion encampment when he was getting the Platinum Chip from him...I think in his Agent 47 run? Someone double-check me, please!
love this idea! for any interested in a longer playthrough with this idea Jon at Many a True Nerd did nearly this same challenge in a series called "you only live once" for fallout Nv 3 and 4.
This actually gave me the idea of roleplaying that my character is allergic to stimpaks. All other healing is okay, but specifically stimpaks are off-limits. Or even a Joshua Graham run where you use absolutely no chems (he's immune to modern medicine).
Hey, just started watching you a few days ago after playing through New Vegas myself. Have you ever considered doing a play through with randomized skills and perks? As in, every time you level up, you use a random number generator to determine which skill you put points into and how many points you allocate? I love seeing how you adapt to changing situations in your runs and I’d love to see what you’d do if you could ONLY improvise.
Oh wow I actually suggested something like this last video but for skyrim! Regardless where you got the idea from it was still very fun to watch, and went down as interesting as I thought it might.
19:00 - there is old polish internet meme / video: someone (probably) lost theirs FPS duel (in old CS) with another player, which apparently was left with four health points. in the meantime, a prankster recorded theirs complain "no nie, cztery ha pe" (i.e. "oh no, 4 hp"), and then kept replaying that "sample" in the voice chat often and in random moments. all talking players thought that someone's audio was glitched. it was kind of funny video that 15 or so years ago, and this is the reason why "4 hp" has sentimental meaning for me :D
I love the runs like these that ask a question that you'd think "oh god. Well I guess yeah probably but it'd be quick save-quickload hell what form of purgatory must he be stuck in? Oh. He just completed in 4 hours and it looked kinda fun."
