Can you Beat Mega Man X WITHOUT Dashing?
In this video we answer the age old question, is it possible to beat the entirety of Mega Man X without Dashing a single time? And if it is possible, how do we do it?

27:55 actually fun fact if you press l&r at the same time for switching weapons it actually brings you back to plain old dude. Do that in any mega Man game that switches weapons with the l&r buttons 😊

It's funny that your weird spot for dash (R1) is exactly where I mapped the dash button, even on the original SNES lol. Made it easy to charge, shoot, dash and jump all at once.

Geez, this game feels so slow without dashing, almost as slow as dashing in Mega Man X7! Also YES, there's a Plain Ol' Dude button, you need to press L+R at the same time and you'll unequip whichever weapon you have selected. This works in any game with quick-swapping

Mega Man X was designed almost entirely without the Dash in mind. It is possible as HideofBeast proved in his playthrough, but your criteria is more flexible, since his was a No Damage/No Special Weapon/No Upgrade run.

You can ice sled your way to the heart tank in eagle. Stand between the R and the P over the "Airport" at the top of the moving platforms then charge up. The sled does the rest.

27:55 "Oh my gosh, just go to plain old dude. Why is there not a 'plain old dude' button?" You can press L and R together to go back to the buster. This is a feature that's in every Mega Man game that lets you weapon swap with the shoulder buttons, from Mega Man X all the way up to Mega Man 11.

The spider boss in the first Sigma level is weak to ice and is actually pretty easy if you're able to follow the web that appear in the back. It will always cross over a horizontal web to a vertical one until it reaches the bottom.

You CAN grab the heart upgrade and the helmet in Storm Eagle stage using Chill Penguin charged shot. For the heart tank, it needs to get a little bit of speed from the area AFTER the elevators and jump when it is falling. For the helmet, need to jump before firing the charged shot, quickly jump on the ice penguin and then jump again to grab the wall.

Storm tornado destroys everything as you walk. Also if you defeat the shield enemies with the chain, they don't respawn. And you can use the charge rolling shield to defeat enemies by running into them and collect energy. Almost everything in sigma stages die when running into them with the shield.

Funny thing here is that I find uncomfortable dash in the normal button so I always remap it to R1 (exact same button you remapped in here)

I'm not sure if you can get any armor parts other than the dash boots without dashing with the exception of Zero's buster which is the same as if you don't get the one in Flame Mammoth's stage.

I believe there is a password that allows you to have Chill Penguins stage beaten and not have the dash parts. I actually used this password on a no armor parts playthrough. I made it all the way to Sigma but didn't beat it.
