Ngl I got jumpscared by seeing my username because I forgot I was a channel member, lol. But keep it up, only a true mad man would attempt a challenge as agonising as this.
Whoa, hold up, did you just reveal the Challenge Run Content Creator's flowchart TO THE PUBLIC? Truly, this man is the epitome of chaos, and must be stopped.
@@MeatyJesus it's a red herring. 80 percent of it is just a psy op to distract the audience from the real flowchart with 20 percent being real so it has some basis in truth to sell it better. I'm onto your diversion.
This must be the scariest shit from the monsters points of view. You're slowly getting dismantled by an invisible force that is waiting for you to sleep...
Literally how humans hunted, except that you could see this towering creature jog towards you, slowly, until you're too exhausted to keep running, and it just keeps jogging until you're in stick range
Idk if it was just memes or whatever, but fun fact, Barroth is eating ants, it busts open the anthills with his built in crash helmet and then eats all the bugs that escape
I can’t believe you did a stealth run where you struggle with damage, then didn’t do the stealth quest to befriend the gajalaka to give your palico damage you can access by whistling.
I believe that requires a fight in the Coral Highlands to unlock the gajalaka quest, which would invalidate the attempt, unless it"s possible to get it done without being seen. It's been at least a month since I did it, so I can't remember exactly.
@@completelyrandomstuff4829 just need to unlock all palico gadgets then you have a dialogue with the lynian researcher which unlocks the quest, the fight to unlock the coral highlands gear is extremely easy (two low rank tzi tzi)
“…when small monsters see an open flame, they will all crowd around it to scream at it until it goes away.” Wow. I didn’t know the Jagras played The Sims, too!
I'm one of the people who like the Xenojiva fight, but only really when I'm using a heavy bowgun with wyvernsnipe. Shooting that down the length of its body and watching the explosions is a thing of beauty.
Bow's Dragon Piercer deserves a mention too. I found that while on most monsters it's really bad dps compared to any of the normal combos, against Xeno it's actually one of the more efficient methods. He's just that long.
A tip that could’ve helped out during the run is that when you’re not moving while wearing a mantle, the duration of it won’t be going down (not sure if every mantle is like this but Ghillie is definitely one) Also this reminds me so much of MH4U with the amount of carpet-bombing going on lol
@justjoe1071 great now im just imagine someone doing the FF14 Gael Pole jump all the way to the monster or screaming haduoken over and over again But those probably dont work
Did you hear that ReaverJolt did the same? He just completed Xeno in a livestream a month ago. The only difference is that he counted the eye-con showing up at all as a fail, white, yellow, or red (except when it was impossible to prevent, like in Zorah). Also, you can fast travel out of the special arena using the map if you haven't been spotted, but not with farcasters.
Oh wow, first time I've gotten a comment like this that's actually true. Looks like he finished his run before 5 days before I did. That's pretty cool. Also the eye-con usually only appears when you've been spotted, except in specific cases like Pink Rathian and Nergigante (in Zorah Magdaros fights)
I'm unsure if the barroth thing was a joke or not but for those curious, barroth seems to be an insectivore/largely have a bug based diet as it feeds off altaroths
One of the team darkside members did a no hit run of the game and their method for xenojiva was to poison and wait it out. I'd have to rewatch it to tell you the whole strat, but it probably would have been more enjoyable for you. You might want to give it a look if you want to feel some more pain from that fight. Also congrats at stealthing, I plan to show my friend this since we both like monster hunter.
27:04 Sleep damage isn't bad, just not good with Great Sword because of how slowly it attacks. You should try sleep with Duel Blades and the mantle that buffs proc rate of statuses: you will literally nonstop sleep the monster.
I love the way this plays; I honestly wish I played like this more, by acting like a real hunter, using meats to debilitate, traps to set up bombs and stuff, it's just an interesting way to play. The gung ho bash and slash is fun, but it gets too samey; learning the monster and how much you can wear them down is amazing
I watched this video weeks ago. I initially wasn't going to comment. But the line "Please don't hit me with your floorslappers" regarding Xeno'jiiva's claws, and in the tone of distress you had, is so gorram funny, i'm /still/ thinking about it days, weeks later. lmao full marks
Okay, the whole video was fantastic and I'm so sorry for your suffering and all, but the mosh pit tournament at the end had me at the edge of my seat more than anything else lol. Would love to see more stuff like that
Dude for real this is one of the most awesome challenge runs ive ever seen !! That u were actually able to kill Xeno with this, is just extremly impressive !! F***ing good work
Barroth doesn't eat rocks. He eats the ants that built the rock structures. Someone probably already said that but I needed to get that off my chest. But I will like and immediately subscribe after watching just one video because this is amazing. And I was rooting for lucidrook. I love Yian-Garuga.
alright, let me see if i can answer vegie or vegan't for the main quests, since you asked so nicely. Jagras: Carnivore Kestadon: Herbivore Great Jagras: Vore Kulu-ya-ku: tecnically I think it's an omnivore? now we're on the subject of if eating eggs alone classes it as a carnivore, because it's certainly not a herbivore. Pukie-Pukie: Herbivore Barroth: Carnivore, or insectivore if we're being extremely spesific, it eats ants. Juratotus: Carnivore (fun fact, I got all the way to lavasioth before I remembered this hunt exists) Tobi Kadachi: Carnivore Anjanath: Carnivore Zorah Magdaros: Energivore. Titzi-Ya-Ku: Carnivore (only have to sight, but for completion's sake) Great Girros: Carnivore (only have to sight, but for completion's sake) Radoban: This one I'm honestly not sure on, base on it's closest relative Urragan, I'd assume it eats ore? Odogaron: they put the carnage in Carnivore Legina: Unsure, but I think they're a carnivore based on their teeth Rathalos: Carnivore Diablos: Herbivore. (Ignore the "it listens for the sounds of prey while under the sands" line in it's bio, Diablos' diet of cacti is long canon) Pink Rathian: Carnivore Dodogama: Rockivore (for completion) Lavasioth: assuming it's a carnivore because of Lavasioth (for completion) Urragan: rockivore (for completion) Nergigante: Draconivore Kushala Daora: guessing it's a carnivore from it's facial structure Teostra: Carnivore, guessed from it's teeth Val Hazak: Does this thing even eat? I honestly have no idea. Xeno Jiiva: Energivore
great video cant wait to see more from you. something that I feel could have also been really strong for you to use is the pierce pod bow attack it does insane amounts of damage
Even if the selft loathing got very thick at times, I do appreciate you showing just how *soulcrushing* these challenges are. Most channels make them look much much MUCH easier than they are with upbeat scripts and editing.
I enjoyed watching this video as I recently did a similar time of video trying to beat the monsters without hitting them, and it's always nice to study other editing styles and tricks. Thank you!! Your editing is fun to watch
IS THAT REVERBERATION ENSEMBLE DURING THE XENO SECTION. That aside, nice run. Though I wouldn't wish this painful of an experience on even my worst enemy.
by the way. this may come too late, but you can lure monsters to target location without engaging in combat by shooting stone (or w/e non-item pods) at the wall at the start. you can use this to lure Jyra out of the water for example by shooting a stone at the wall on its nest. it also override pretty much nearly all action as long as the monsters are not aggro. I used this trick for the first clutch claw > slinger burst all the time.
I really like how this shows off the ability to use items to accomplish goals. I haven’t fully played a monster hunger game, but I’m hoping to jump into the next one.. know that there will be items to spice up the gameplay is exciting
Incredible. I'm impressed as hell this is possible and someone did this. Would never have the patience for that last fight my guy. Pat yourself on the back
I'm curious if LBG Wyvernblasts could have helped with this at all, especially that fight with Xenojiva since they're basically mini bomb barrels that come free with your gun.
40:05 "Oh what's that thing it's doing? Does anyone know what that's called? *Taco Bell dong*" KILLED ME. This whole video is wonderful and you deserve the world for going through this pain for our entertainment value, keep doing what you love.
Just got a fun idea for a challenge, ranged melee. You can only use the bowguns or the bow but you can’t actually fire the weapon and can only make melee attacks with them
Honestly, after having not played through MH:W despite loving MH3/MH4, seeing something as crazy as this makes me genuinely want to give the game a proper shot. Very cool challenge concept imo, regardless of how flashy the strats ended up I very much respect the knowledge of patterns/mechanics and the grind/dedication required to pull this off
That Chart he shows is literally every "Can I beat ****** with only/without ******** ?" video on this planet. Its the whole reason why I sorta watching these a year or 2 after this type of video got popular unless if its interesting. Like stealthing Monster Hunter. But it turned out to be those type of videos in the end but atleast it was something.
