UPDATE: For this video I am not using any glitch moves (breakboost, yby up etc.) as I wanted to focus on the "normally" available moveset. This let us use a lot more creative solution to the obstacles we found which would have been irrelevant had with used ypy up for example. Edit: I accidentally missed to count the first usage in The Great Lava Pursuit, so the counter is off by 1.
Yeah this was interesting finding methods to avoid using Murfy. I know clipping through the fire was kind of like a glitch, but clipping is different and that wasn't easy, it took a very long time to do.
Man the controls of this game are so smooth and let you do so much stuff, they feel just right both if you play the game as intended or just want to break it.
@@NotRay1995 I've played both again recently, and they are similar but not the same. Legends is much more polished (kicking mid-air retains more momentum than before) and the game's overall more smooth to play. Not the biggest changes, but surely helpful ones! :)
i did something similar to this a year or two ago, where i tried to get the minimum amount of lums on different levels. The hardest one i have done so far was creepy castle. After trying for hours to skip killing the first enemy i couldn't skip it, though after coming back to it recently, i found 2 different ways to skip it, both of them being very precise. The first way is by doing a brake boost down the slope at the beginning, and doing a roll jump at the right moment to jump right over the enemy. The second way is by grabbing the heart at the beginning , and doing a spindash down the slope. don't try to jump over the enemy, instead go right into him. if you did it right, he will hit you and you will go back behind him, allowing you to complete the level with 0 lums.
That was a crazy project, although I also believed that in theory many parts could be skipped by methods you guys ended showing in the video. There were four moments that impressed me in particular: 1:44, 6:30, 22:00 and the dragon chase of Hell Breaks Loose. Escaping some flame and lava segments in Olympus Maximus was surprising too, even if I knew it could be doable for some flames to do a very precise timing! Well done, guys!
Thank you! It was really fun finding all these creative solutions. There were many times we thought something was impossible, while it turned out it wasn't! :)
Yeah this was really fun to work on, it made Legends really enjoyable again for once. As RayCarrot said, we can thank Ubisoft for taking down the servers that we had that much fun with the game. :P
2:18 so Rayman basically was just like “So yeah, sorry but instead of saving you, you’re gonna need to be the sacrifice I need to make it across.” Niiiiceee.
This is such an underrated game, honestly the only issue I can find with it is the barbarians clothing could use a change and a few of the characters pupils are white which actually looks kind of freaky if you look really close at them, but apart from that, It’s an amazing game
So far even with yby, there are only 2 more places where you can avoid using Murfy. It would bring Ropes Course down to 0, and Hell Breaks Loose down to 8. All the rest of them were possible without yby, and it made us discover a lot about the game. Also, you wouldn't be able to reach the bridge in Ropes Course with yby. :P
@@SoloSlater It's kind of hard to explain. It's basically a trick you can do so you can jump a lot higher. You perform an action like a ground pound, then quickly press jump, attack, run, and a direction (diagonally up-right or up-left) all at once. I done it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-umJNFEBdQtA.html
@@steo.c I found a way to skip the bridge murphyless. Breakboost on the hill then do a frame perfect upkick yby which gives you enough height due to your speed
in the deadly lights level, you can use one murfy less, in the part that you arrives and has to take a hit in the glass tube, and there is an enemy there, if you arrive with the heart, jump in front of the enemy and make him shoot, the shot bounces and hits the heart, then you passes with the heart while the frog's shot goes and then the other side recovers it. This way, in the part where you use murfy, you don't need to.
7:45 "You need to use Murfy to enter this sub-area. But since i"m not counting them. I'm not counting this and just doing it for fun" why is it sounds like 9 years old me making an excuse for something that someone told me to do
Nice vid man, I understand why people might be upset about no tech being in the run but in my opinion it leads to more creative scenarios like the enemy boost in Ropes Course, so props
Thanks! That's how I was thinking of it. Maybe I'll make a separate video with all tricks and such, but it was very rewarding managing to find all these unique tricks without it here.
Awesome video! :D I was wondering this the other day, then it came up on my recommended list. It would be interesting to see what rank you could get in some of the Murfy's Dungeon challenges doing this as they're randomised from day-to-day.
Wow! i watched the video and never saw skill like this in this game before! I subscribed because you guys are so good in this game! (Sorry if I made a mistake in this text my first language isn't English 😅)
You could save a lot of murfy uses by using the murfy return glitch (i think that's it its where you glitch out murfy in the first level and then enter extreme daily challenge and then exit to be able to to a bunch of gliches ) and it would be under the ruleset. If you would allow 2 players and the murfy glitch then you could maby bring it down to zero
I do challenges like this in my free time. Beating the game without jumping alone is impossible, but with multiplayer, it’s actually not that bad. I use three people, and two might be harder but most likely still possible.
I played this game so much in my Xbox 360, i was never able to beat it, then i got grounded, but my old man didn't say anything about my videogame, then i got my Xbox One on and remembered i had the Xbox 360 disc version, played through it alot an just finished it, got all the 700 little guys (Teensies) and all the creatures, such a good platformer
So far: • People cheat at Rayman Legends challenges on PC for six years. • Ubi finally decide to do something about it. • Ubi realize it would be too much effort to clean up the leaderboards or bring in preventative measures. • Ubi shut down challenges on PC. • Steo, Zelen and Carrot look for a new challenge to give them another reason to play the game. • They find it and publish an amazing video showing ways to skip using Murfy. Next: • Ubi see the video and think skipping Murfy is cheating. • Ubi decide to patch out all the skips shown here. • Ubi realize that would be too much effort. • Ubi delete Rayman Legends from Steam and Uplay. • *trollface* More seriously, this is amazing! Those Olympus ones look intense, though I somehow hadn't twigged that Zeus only zaps you if you stop moving. I guess a lot the tricks in the Great Lava Pursuit could also be applicable to getting less than 30 seconds in its invaded version. Also, watching Hell Breaks Loose finally made me unlearn the conditioning I got on my first playthrough, that you're screwed if you start falling or otherwise don't run the maze in time with the music! :P
Them shutting down the servers are more likely related to a possible breach. At least that's the current theory due to a lot of Rayman players getting emails to reset their passwords around the same time. Glad you enjoyed the video! :)
This was a lot of fun. Some of the levels were fairly frustrating as we got further into the game, but finding all these methods from stuff like damage boosting was a lot of fun to do. I'm seriously surprised that we managed to get zero uses on Infiltration Station. :D
In Wii u version, the gameplay of muffy are different, and some levels are different too. In wii u version you can control muffy with the gamepad touching the screen,so some levels are different
can i just say how funny the scenes of you taking advantage of Teensies are? i do the same thing when i just don't care and want to get through a level already.
