Although im happy at least some of the ones I missed were the subtle answers. It's a goddamn shame Satan is so thoroughly impossible without any form of theoretical glitch-manipulation, but damn the fact that you even did the other 99% of the series and even did DEMI-FIEND is just unbelievable enough on its own. Do not be upset about what you couldn't realistically achieve and instead be proud of what you *were* able to.
It gets me that everybody thinks DDS1 Demi-Fiend is the hardest boss in JRPG gaming when DDS2 Satan exists. Atlus looked at the Demi-Fiend fight and went "okay, that was bullshit and next to impossible, but how can we make it even MORE bullshit?" Seriously, I tried him back in the day and just gave up in disgust, and I wasn't gimping myself with a challenge ruleset either.
So far, my favorite parts of this are: - COUNTER - GACHA HELL - DOOR WITH GUNS - The inclusion of Project Moon music because that is goated - The fact that Roland got Roland's vocal theme from Ruina - Meganada being treated as Nothing There - LobCorp Angel - The voice acting - The language of the gods - Really just ALL the Project Moon references My least favorite parts are: - NO WEAKNESS not returning

In many campaigns, level 5 or 6 is the highest you'll get to or that might be where you start at (level 3 is another popular starting point). In others, you might get up to 10 or so, especially if you started at level 5. Particularly long campaigns might see you going all the way to level 20.

This was a big endeavor and boy you delivered the presentation. DDS2 was certainly enjoyable to see this challenge done. While Satan is the one boss being (currently) unable to be beaten without demons, I’m sure someone will eventually find someway to make it possible.
Even if you would be able to remove his God breath (via gameshark) still the battle is harder than demi-fiend. Since Satan gets stronger and stronger each phrase dealing more damage and you receive over 30% more damage as human maybe more. You need to survive his 7/8 turns of spamming strongest skills. Unless avoid ring will kick in to save your arse, otherwise, good luck
@@kichiroumitsurugi4363 not saying it's not possible, but it's barely. Like more luck reliant than low level fight in demon forms or without turn ring. It require you to fully evade his attacks and pray he won't use mammudons often, also unavoidable temptation can screw you over. Plus dealing over 1.5k damage in one turn in guns only. Wellp yeah I'd rather beat set with level 1 party even tho I would be wiped out with spiteful wind
Throughout the video, I thought to myself how certain bits either contained more info than was necessary or that certain examples of stuff were reminiscent of Jack Frost's questions. The payoff that it was all intentional was glorious.

This was quite the fantastic ride. Also, while I've never played any of the DDS games, I find it impressive how I've never seen people talk about Satan. It's always "Demifiend is the strongest boss from teh series", but Satan seems way more contrived and ridiculous.
I think a lot of it is the novelty of fighting a previous protagonist. It’s kinda like Red in Pokémon Gen 2. So Demi is more remembered, even if Satan is more difficult.
Satan is also just infinitely more of an RNGfest, since the entire time you're needing to meet that Turn 4 buff check he can just decide to spam debilitate and render the fight unwinnable on a whim
@@thrasher698 Even with that I'm surprised that it's "infinitely more of an RNGfest" than the fight that starts with a Mamudoon spammer on the field (that you're not allowed to null), Gaea Rage dodging relying largely on Dormina proc which can just miss or run out at a bad time, Demi-fiend himself being able to randomly get crits literally at any and all times or just randomly mute or stun everyone, and whatever fresh hell Arahabaki's moveset decides to throw at you.
Amazing video! Literally some of the best challenge videos on SMT I’ve seen, somehow topping your incredible DDS1 video. The amount of effort from grinding, recording, editing, and everything in between is incredible. Whenever or whatever your next video is, I’ll be sure to watch.

Okay, so, question - in regards to Close Call, can you theoretically make use of Close Call to survive God's Breath infinitely? If so, theoretically speaking, would it be possible to get past the Retribution phase without a dupe glitch. I should add, yes, Satan forfeits all his turns after God's Breath, so you can recover from it if everyone has Close Call
Excellent idea, but unfortunately, Close Call is just a nerfed version of Endure. You're still at 1 HP, but you are reverted into Human Form. So not only would it not do anything for us, as you cannot go from Human Form TO Human Form, but even if it did, it'd only work once per battle.

With Digital devil saga 2 without demons complete I wonder if it means you're going to finally beat devil survivor 2 without demons. I've been waiting for that for a while now.
These games need way more attention than they got. The story is one of the absolute best in not just any RPG, or any game, but any work of fiction, PERIOD. It's great that so many SMT content creators have done videos on the series. The more attention it receives, the more likely that, one day, Atlus gets around to giving us a remastered version. I still have both my original PS2 copies from when they first released, I'll never get rid of them. Great challenge run, I figured it'd be possible, and it's not nearly as hard as a single character solo run, but it's really interesting to see the strategies people come up with to beat the games under this ruleset. And doing the Crossfire combo attack was always badass as hell.

This has inspired me to do a Nocturne run I've been thinking of. Only the Demi-Fiend is allowed to heal. If another demon is low on HP they have to either use Recarmdra or blow themselves up
