This comment reminds me of the suicide squad game trailer when the giant shark dude is praising superman for saving a pilot from crashing, but superman turns out to be evil.
@@leonardoparramelati6463 The soviets won because the germans did not rekon that they need enough man to control the territory, not because the Soviets had more man. It was inferior logistics, giant territory and stupid planing that cost the germans the win, not mass soldier tactics of the soviets. It is a racistic myth, because it would otherwise mean the slavs simply fought smater than the "superior" race, while loosing against mass would mean less. According to Meltjuchow 1941 the axis had 4.306.800 man in the east, while the red army had only 3.289.851 under arms.
'There is absolutely no reason to point your drones to attack the enemy" ~ GiantGrantGames, after deathless and world record run and before no production run
"Fortunately, the Dominion were programmed with an in-built kill limit. I simply sent wave after wave of my own zerg at them until they reached their limit and shut down."
That intro was well done, the effort expended to weave those voicelines together in which Zagara is punished for doubting the sanctity of the zergling is appreciated.
Another big brain strat in this run that Grant kind of brushed over was crowding uprooted spore crawlers (they can't root themselves in the pool of gamer primal bath water) around Kerrigan's coocoon to make it harder for enemy melee units to get close enough to damage it.
@@СергейБудников-я1ф Yes, the four vipers in the entire swarm. Three from the evolution mission plus that one on Korhal. Truly they are the Heart of the Swarm.
Did he use it? Last time we saw his ability set he did not have reconstitution. 23:30 , he had Automated Extractors instead. Granted he could have swapped back to 'ling rebuilder.
Right, we can see at 29:22 that Zergling reconstitution was used. The real question is, how many lings did it make? Well, I'm not going to keep track of it in the VOD, but let's just assume that the ability wasn't 100% efficient all the time. I'll just say an even 60 minutes of reconstitution for simplicities sake. At 10 Zerglings every 30 seconds, that's 20/min. Over the course of an hour, that means 1200 Zerglings were created. For reference, max supply army is only 400 Zerglings. An individual Ling is 25 minerals. This means that one ability saved GGG over 30,000 minerals in The Reckoning alone.
I really miss how in the first 2 campaigns the waves sent to you actually come from the buildings. Whereas in LOTV the waves are spawned in. So even if you clear everything, you still get attacked.
The swarmling still seems useful since if you are mining out maps already free zerglings saves you minerals you actually need. So you can then build more armies for the same cost even if each army isn’t as strong as it would be if they were raptorlings
This was a great run. It's the first run I do see on stream, then the highlight on this channel and it makes me realise how much work one of your videos requires. While I would want more videos, I now see how much work you have to do for each and every one of them and I realise why it does takes so long. So please, just continue making those great highlights, they're just incredible. And GL for the 24h stream, I know I'll at least see part of it :)
@@runtergerutscht4401 Go to the archives channel and watch the stalkers only run, Salvation took about as long as the crucible. It wasn't easy because they're stalkers...
Raptor Zerglings have gotta be the most satisfying unit to use in Starcraft. Just watching them swarm, pounce, and tear through everything in their path does something for me.
Just a casual mention in a map, where if you do something absurdly difficult for no apparent reason, a Dominion researcher asks if you'd like to contribute whatever-you-just-got to the development of Project: Giant. They just got a fairly large research Grant, and are willing to give you a cut.
An incredible effort with "Death From Above" mission. Most challenge-youtubers would just say "well, I can't do anything here" and use Dehaka to clear those power link segments. GG WP for finding a way to use zerglings!
Look, using Vipers to get drones to a place to make a base to make zerglings was an INCREDIBLE stroke of genius! Good on ya for being so creative! You got nothin to feel bad about!
8:40 I mean the Swarmling still has the advantage of being out being out in the field quicker as well as the fact that you can make more Swarmling armies per mission
Well done Grant; what an amazing run! Was a lot of fun to watch the vods for this run as they came out on the archives channel and I'm thrilled to see that you've made the official video for this run. ❤
Keep in mind that on missions like Old Soldiers, Zergling Reconstitution replaces 1 zergling every 3 seconds pretty much constantly, meaning that over the 30 minutes the mission takes, GGG gets 600 zerglings for free. And it's still barely enough.
It's funny how I just finished watching the whole VOD on his second channel. (Grant if you're seeing this you need to add Part 14-17 to the Zergling only playlist)
Watching this half a year later, I gotta say that the swarmling sounds like a much better choice than Grant painted it out to be. If you're mining out the map and coming up short of bodies constantly, maybe getting 33% of your max supply for free is a good deal. At least until maps are so long that you'd get more units from Zergling reconstitution, anyway
I believe Raptors are much better than Swarmlings ( expect the case of Banelings but it's not this run). Most of the units have good armor and upgrades (from the beginning of a mission). So non-upgraded Swarmlings will take only 2 damage if unit has armor 3. Raptor will take 4 damage against the same unit. So it's twice as more against well armored(3+) units ( which are the most challenging ones in most cases). + Raptors can jump to target which increases chances to hit before die. Absolute win for this run.
I know I'm late, but I really like these mostly because you have to think differently and use tactics you wouldn't normally need to use. It's sooo fun to watch! :D
reminds me of Ymfah a bit, he has a second channel where he releases a teaser for his next challenge video, and for his "Dark souls 2 Consumable Only" teaser he misspelled it as "consumabe" on the title card. he caught it for the actual vide oat least.
When I first played the HotS Campaign, I thought I was crazy because I noticed things oneshotting my units that shouldn't be happening. ~30 damage effects were oneshotting my Zerglings and for that reason, Zerglings just wouldn't work because of that. I asked and searched for damage modifier effects but never really found any results. Nice to see it finally confirmed at least :)
2:40 am yep just me and my nice old hamster and my psychopath bird Who throws all of her food out of her bowl and tries biting me to death no matter what
I remember watching this on the second channel and gooooooood you are so good at turning these challenge runs into stories! Like even KNOWING EVERYTHING I was still on the edge of my seat to see how you'd pull it out! Heh
Honestly, looking at all this swarmlings may have been a decent strain to use. You talked a lot about how you didn't have the resources to maintain more than 2 maybe 3 armies on some maps. However, the 3rd zergling would've cut down the price of each army a bit, so on missions where you could only supply 2 armies you could've had 3 with swarmlings.
I have to say, big props to this dude for doing this on Brutal, this would make me tear my hair out even on normal.. hell even Casual for some missions.
I love how those desperate drop pods at the end of reckoning Actually managed to clear. They're supposed to be basically background storytelling, Arcturus sending a force woefully unprepared to fight you because it's all he has left, but Here? They're a legitimate threat
as a zergling fanatic, i always come back to the zergling and abomination when i replay the campain. and i was geniunely surprised when you said "wild mutation" is considered subpart
