your wife sounds so lovely and thoughtful. i love that she gave you the present of connecting to your inner child. i'd like to see a video where you sort the box of crayons to match the order that is in the top of the box, all sorted by color family
I have been watching your videos since I was probably about 12/13 (8 years!). As a child I used to have debilitating anxiety which prevented me from being able to go to school or have social interactions. ASMR was one of the coping skills I used at the time to calm myself down to go to sleep. Now I have the tools to live a successful life at 20 and have done many things I didn’t think capable. I’ve been unionizing a business for the last four months now and the amount of stress it has caused me has given me physical symptoms. Watching this video was the first time in 5 years I fell asleep to ASMR. Thank you. So sincerely thank you. I remember falling asleep to your catfish video night after night to the point where I could recite the first two minutes. Your videos are so dearly appreciated and this random 20 year old guy loves them so deeply. Thank you
I still enjoy drawing with my Crayola's and I'm 37. Enjoy your life. Do what makes YOU happy. Drawing can be very cathartic at times. I love your content and I truly appreciate videos like this. Please stay safe.
I wanted the 64 set when I was a kid, but now crayola have a 150 pack, so I bought that instead. Many adult women like to colour, and there's a lot of colouring books made for adults these days, but unfortunately most adult men find it hard to let go of the idea that colouring is just for children, so Mazel to on letting go of that idea.
I used to sit and color with my grandma on an old superhero coloring book every time she came to visit... I miss that, she's still alive - she actually moved to my neighborhood - but I'd give so much to go back and be a young kid again
Earlier on today my 6 year old cousin got me, my sister and grandparents to colour in these little pictures of pusheen (a cartoon cat). We all went quiet whilst we concentrated on doing it how my cousin asked and my grandma afterwards said ‘I can’t believe she’s got us colouring at the dinner table!’. It made me realise how we don’t really do these activities very often because we get caught up in life, but when we do you can really bond over it, even if it’s as simple as colouring.
pops dont even try to low his speed , his voice is calm , he is the calm its soothing its not even asmr , this could be next to my bed and i would sleep like a baby
I could smell that Crayola scent as you opened that box. Mmmm, reminds me of when I was a little boy, sitting and colouring with my mum on a Saturday morning. What a nice surprise from your wife!
Your appreciation of those crayons and the big box of 64 is so relatable. I'm 52 and I get a thrill buying that box, which I still do, from time to time. 💙💛❤️💚
I was obsessed with coloring when I was a child and growing up one of my favorite two kit coloring books was the care Bears and the Smurfs. Since losing my eyesight I think it’s what I miss the most is coloring but I do love listening to people color at least it brings back those memories even though I no longer have my eyesight
Throwback to the beloved Superchief video! How different were our lives 9 years ago when we first watched it? I know mine sure was. Thank you for this, Mr RelaxingASMR and always happy to hear those thunder sounds.
For those who care, that engine he colored in is an EMD F7a unit. Built from 1949 to 1953 by GM, mainly for the USA and Canada Also kinda looks like the Baltimore and Ohio paint scheme
I'm so sorry about your wife. This video is a wonderful reminder of your infinite love throughout time❤ God bless and I hope you and I and everyone meet out loved ones again!
A true ASMR-tist! I had some amazing full body ASMR tingles during this video. The beginning with the cellophane, picking out the colours..... And then the narration with the gentle constant scratch of the crayon had me asleep so quickly I've had to come back in the morning so I can watch til the end and see the finished results 🙂
This is ASMR gold! You’ve helped me feel relaxed & peaceful, & you allowed me to connect with the positive parts of my inner child and that it’s ok to do so. Ty sooooo much x
I’m in my 40s and I color. Of course, I use pencils, not crayons. I actually colored your Super Chief picture a long time ago by taking a screen shot from your video and printing it out.
thank you for bringing up the point of what makes it an adult coloring book vs a kids one. if i hadnt seen that the cover had "adult coloring book" on it, id have thought it WAS one made for kids.
This kinda makes me feel nostalgic because I feel I have come full circle. The first video I ever watched you do was Drawing the super chief so this hits home for me. So glad to have been on this journey with you my friend!
Its truly incredible how the simplicity of such trivial things can makes us feel so good and nostalgic Looking foward to watch the whole video tonight, have a great day!
When I was in college 30 years ago in a small town, my roomie and I went to the local groceery store to stock up on snacks for studying for finals. We bought crayons and coloring books to color during study breaks to de-stress.
I like the way you take your time. Like Brooks said in The Shawshank Redemption, “the world went and got itself in a big damn hurry.” But you take your time.
Oh look at that hole on the back of the box now that's a hole of satisfaction think how many crayons you can put in there honestly I feel like I would be to detracted by just sharpening crayons in the hole ¦>
My family and I love to color with the gel pens instead of crayons every once in a while! Super smooth and satisfying with those. Good for outlining too :)
I kind of hate messing up new crayons too. They look so pretty and perfect when they’re new. Did Peanuts ever do “Happiness is a new box of crayons.” That it’s not really adult is probably for the best. You wouldn’t want to use up pink and brown faster than the other colors.
A real treat to see coloring with crayons. Maybe some more in the future...? Also would love to see more drawing/sketching/painting again - of man-made or natural subjects. It's relaxing and stimulating simultaneously.
I have a crayon collection too specifically because my folks couldn’t afford the big monster pack for each of us kids every year with the built in sharpener …just having crayons 🖍 gives me vibes …the feel of the paper and smell of the wax
i think the point of it being an adult coloring book is that alot of the pictures would be alot harder for a child to color neatly due to all the extra fine details that go into (some) of the drawings
Age is just a number after you hit 21, it doesn't matter till you hit 75 and then it's an endurance run to see how close to the record for oldest person you can get
Back when I was a kid I used to color pictures but I somehow always picked the wrong colors. I used to give people blue hair and green hair. Teachers didn't like that, gave me a zero on coloring assignments, but nowadays I see folks with blue hair and green hair walking around even when the circus is not in town, nor is it Halloween. I remember one time I colored a picture of the American flag black and grey instead of red white and blue. Teacher gave me a good talking to about that one, but lately I've been seeing these dark flags all around. What could it mean?
Back before adult coloring was an official thing, I colored Dover Coloring Books for older kids, usually the scientific or historical themed ones. Those are detailed and realistically-proportioned. Dover has since rebranded a lot of their best titles under Creative Haven for adult coloring. I prefer to use colored pencils though. I agree that a lot of the pictures in the book look more like kids coloring than adult coloring.
How softly you grab the crayon box in the very beginning is how I reach for literally anything being 6’4” and 265lbs and not know that I’m “rough” with stuff 🥲🥲
This is really good! Would quite like some more colouring videos. For the algorithm’s sake maybe not too many in a row, but still this was much more relaxing than already expected!
The crayon box actually opens a little lower on the front, it opens from the front and the box top folds back. And then as soon as I open my mouth, ta da, that’s exactly what you do. My bad.
Usually ADULT coloring books are a bit more complex than children's but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Regardless, coloring things is for every age and this is a very nice video.
Coloring is a good skill. Helps relieve stress or cope with the day to day. It also helps with fine motor skills as we age, memory and cognitive function. Coloring helps hence why elderly home care places always have them on hand that painting, music, and other forms of therapy.
I’m in my mid 30s and I enjoy coloring so much! Such a fun relaxing activity for everyone. I use colored pencils but this huge crayon box makes me want to try them
There are many coloring books only for young and old adults, so never be ashamed/embarrassed about using crayons. With school supplies now out (use Crayola, never Crazy Art per Bored Teachers!), you can get a good supply right now!
coloring something that otherwise isnt, feels beautiful to me. its ways in us humans to fix and create, just like music, drawing and coloring is a universal language
