C.S. Lewis actually had his own version of the multiverse in 'The Chronicles Of Narnia.' You can see that in 'The Magician's Nephew.' The doorway to those universes was called The Wood Between The Worlds.

Thank you for that information.

Is'nt the narniaesce worldbuilding a little bit different tho? I recently read the stories again and think there may be a difference between a multiverse and a parallel universe. "Narnia" is a whole different world from our world, just like "Charn" (the white witch stems from there) is very different from "Narnia". So there is no correlation between These (usually) isolated and unrelated Worlds. Isnt the multiverse like our here and today but with endless variations and colours? In Short: Narnia, Charn, England = Different Worlds Here and Today, same but with Germany winning ww2, same but with Trump never beeing president = same world (in endless variations)

I've long considered various forms of multiverse theory completely compatible with Christianity and the Bible. Our God is glorious and everything in creation is designed to declare his glory. I've long thought it possible that there are infinitely many universes, each uniquely designed to demonstrate a different set of God's attributes. This, of course, is pure speculation and I'm not sure what John is referring to @3:56 about the Bible hinting at other universes. But I find it a fascinating thought experiment that deepens one's awe at the glory of God.

For having worked in the medical field for 15 years, even a multiverse would need more of a Creator or Cosmic Consciousness to order it without having everything collapsing... Even from a pure material perspective, can we find a house's wall build off bricks (with no mortar) holding up by itself in thin air 🤷‍♂️🤔

The Anthropic principle doesn’t state that “you can only observe what is observable”

Considering the principle of plenitude, held by Sts. Augustine of Hippo and Thomas Aquinas, it would only make sense from the Christian point of view that there would be a multiverse: God did not only choose one possible world to be created, but He wants to bring into being every possible reality and form of existence. His love could not accept that some possible worlds would remain as mere ideas without existence.

"The Bible hints that this may not be the only one. [universe]" CITATION NEEDED
@A-physics-and-theology-nerd
Yes!! I agree. I think he may be referring to the apparent separation between the physical and spiritual realms, but I would love to hear what passages John is referring to in this quote.

We dont have a universe , yet….you will have to wait 1,003.5 year after the identification of the “man of lawlessness “ to see and understand the UNI-verse.

If Christ died unto sin "once", and dieth no more (Romans 6:9-10); then there can only be one universe or the written word of God is a lie.
@johnbrzykcy3076
@johnbrzykcy3076 Год назад
But I'm a bit confused. Doesn't that scripture from Romans simply apply to humanity on this planet earth? Yet, I tend to agree with you because if Jesus died for sin in other universes, would not those other events negate the Biblical doctrine that "Christ died unto sin once" ? I wonder what Biblical scholars would say?
@A-physics-and-theology-nerd
@@johnbrzykcy3076 Most biblical scholars, to my understanding, would generally agree with @Neil MacLachlan's interpretation of this verse. I.e. to say that Christ died once for all means that there are none whom God has created who are saved by any means other than the death of Christ on the Cross and His resurrection on the third day. Further more, other verses in the Bible seem to indicate that Jesus had to be human to save humans, and thus that only humans can be saved by Him. For redeemable sinners to exist on other planets or in other universes would require reinterpreting these verses to the much narrower scope you are mentioning. I highly recommend you look for Mike Winger's 20 Questions video (first non-ad result for the search "Mike Winger Aliens" for me) where he spends the first 15 or so minutes discussing the implications of a potential discovery of alien life. While he mostly focuses on life on other planets, the theological principals apply to alternate universes.

From the divine point of view, Christ's salvific work happened only once, but because as God He transcends time and place, that one salvific work could have manifested itself into various worlds in different ages. Let's not forget that Jesus Christ was not simply a person of history but rather a ray of Eternity that shone into history.

If an infinite number of things exists it must exist in something. What could contain an infinite number of things?! Something more than infinite obviously, which is absurd.

"Can you believe in___fill in the blank---?" This is an absurd question. Humans have evolved the ability to ideate in general and to "believe" (a classic example of ideation) in specific. So the fact that you CAN believe is obviously established. The only appropriate question is does belief contribute to accomplishing life's purpose (i.e., to survive and reproduce, else no life). No amount of believing establishes the hypothetical existence nor the hypothetical nonexistence of God, of a multiverse, of information about what's on the other side of a black hole, etc. etc. Knowing, not believing, is what puts food on the table. And even knowing does not come with a guarantee because knowing is not certainty. There is not such thing as certainty. Believing, like ANY human behavior (meditation, faith, prayer, chanting, recreational pharma, jogging, astrology, etc.) can be recruited for analgesia, temporary pain relief that wears off like any analgesic and can become addiction. Don't waste assets on believing. Instead use the evolved ability to learn and act on what you learn. Fools who persist in foolishness will become wise.

multi verse is how Jesus performed his miracles. Because he is God the creator of the multiverse he was able to use it to prove he is God. For example, we exist in an infinite number of universes where everything is the same or not. How did Jesus raise the dead, he didn't he used dimensional travel into the world where he is alive where everything is the same except for the world he took you from into the world where he is alive. Same with the fish and bread feeding 5,000 same with walking on water where the laws of physics are different then bring you back. He is God, he created the universe don't you think he know how to use it.

Why don't you embrace the mind of Christ (through his salvation gift ONLY) and you will know the (eternal) truth and the (eternal) truth will set you free. The knowledge you seek may not be granted to you overnight. Casual enquirer's get disappointed. 🕊️

John Lennox makes his money off of defending Christianity, if he stopped defending Christianity and instead started criticizing Christianity, then he would not only lose all credibility, he would especially lose his financial support.
