I can agree with Jake's estimate of 450kw. The turbo tonner has a VERY similar build list. SBE LS1, 6spd manual, BTR stage 2 turbo cam, and 70mm turbo kit showed 466kw/625hp on a hub dyno at 13psi. Call that validation if you like lol
Rob asked us if he needed an e-boost in his VY too, but like you guys said, these combos are very docile (until you mat it) so its not really needed... but nice to have lol
What a fun build, the VY SS ute is still such a timeless look too. Loved this episode, glad RU-vid randomly recommended the channel to me as a first time viewer.
G'day guys. Awesome video. You have achieved your goal 400+killer wasps. congratulations 🎉. Now that you've got all this knowledge on turbocharged engines you can finally do the car you have waiting patiently in the wings. The VW BEETLE . So thanks for sharing a awesomely great build series. Word of the day TURBO ✌️Peace from Melbourne 3810.
Well done boys have followed this since probably the second video. Coming from a qualified mechanic I had a good laugh at the accidental mistakes with some as even when your qualifed you do it too. Taught me plenty aswell. Love to see you bloke giving it a go, once again well done.
I was waiting for a grease breakout in song after asthmatic, systematic, hydromatic , why its grease lightin. It's now a LS6. 6 times to tune :P Love the journey boys. Enjoy the ride Jake
Awesome job boys. Been following this closely as I'm still undecided whether to turbo or supercharge the Torana. You not planning a supercharged LS1 soon to compare ???
Definitely nothing to do with ecu map sensor, will be hitting overboost in the Eboost and opening the gate, hence the loud exhaust noise. Cool combo all round! Definitely insanely low power for the boost, but if the dyno is actually that far out, then that’s about right. Mph will give you a proper power number anyway.
Finally someone who knows how to route the catchcan on an ls1. Should send throigh some pics of blokes lines and shit going everywhere and end up filling intake with oil 🤣🤣
Get rid of that steel intake -is it attached to a pod filter? LS engines run& breathe better with a OTR CAI, I aint no "qualified expert" but I am a LS1 owner for over 20yrs & know by "trial & error", great stuff guys you got another subscriber👍 I was expecting around the 440rwkw range considering my brother's N/A LS1 VY SS is pumping out 340rwkw
