The developers said somewhere that at certain moments, they rewind time to give you a better experience (dying immediately when finding the prisoner would be no fun right?) so i think its an unintentional side effect, but its still very cool
You can also kinda use the Quantum moon as a ship. Get to it when it's near ash twin and make it so it would be near dark brumble. But you may have less fuel with that route.
Solanum wasnt at your campfire so obviously the next challenge is to stop at the 6th location shipless to say hi to her on your way to the Eye shipless!
Nice video! I tried to do a run on my own, but instead of having to travel through space with my jetpack, I used the quantum moon to teleport to every planet, it's so much easier and it goes around Dark Bramble too
Damn now that is using the big brain - it didn't even cross my mind that this would be a way, you could completely cross out a step going from AT to DB
Not seeing Solanum, meaning you never met her on the Quantum Moon, had me thinking what if instead of warping to Brittle and using the black hole to get to the station, you instead hopped into the Twin's Quantum moon, then used the tower to move it to Bramble, then jump out of the moon and be right above the planet?
Great vid I also really enjoyed my shipless run. Personnaly, I don't think it was an intentional design by the devs, it's just that the world they built allows creativity in such a way that you CAN do it, even if it wasn't planned by the devs.
A few minutes into watching this video I paused, opened up my game, and tried this for myself to see if I could do it and how our approaches differed. What I came up with was this: 1: Build up velocity flying East at low altitude around Timber Hearth before breaking atmosphere at just the right place to send me on a trajectory straight for the hourglass twins 2: Slow myself down by slingshotting through Ember Twin's canyon and fly over to Chert's camp 3: Refuel at Chert's at wait 12 and a half minutes at their campfire 4: Fly to Ash twin using as little fuel as possible and grab the core 5: Walk to the Brittle Hollow teleport tower to conserve fuel 6: Jump directly into the black hole and carefully maneuver into Dark Bramble conserving as much momentum as possible 7: Fly to the Vessel as quickly as possible and input the coordinates with probably less than a minute before the sun explodes
Nice challenge, I might attempt it later. I just did a challenge myself (although I don't have video), where I did beginner's luck, but also meeting the Prisoner and Solanum. It was a lot of fun trying to figure out how to fit all of it into the time loop, I think you'd enjoy it too ::)
I'll have to give it a go that sounds like a puzzle in itself - I wonder if there is a way to find The Stranger from the start rather than wait for the orbit coordinates for max time
I've tried this and after some trial and error completed the game with no ship. What I haven't been able to do is get to the sun station with no ship. I'd be interested to see if you can. Additionally it's possible to get the training suit from the zero-g cave out with mods, and you can reach orbit with it if you use the geysers. If you could beat the game with the training suit then you could do so without ever getting the launch codes or starting the time loop.
After watchin the video I realised that my idea is dumb, because you need time to fly the Nomai shuttle to Dark Bramble and it is much quicker to just use the warp pads (I think).
Don't think this is intentional it's just that the world is so we'll designed that getting around is made to be easy because of the nomai so it just shows how thorough the devs were when designing the world so that one can "easily" reach every location once on ash twin. Also you could probably make your job easier by not immediately warping to brittle hollow instead you could go to ember twin get a refill on oxygen and fuel from chert travel back to warp to brittle hollow instead of hitting Riebeck jump right into the black hole go to white hole station and teleport to brittle hollow from there to get feldspars fuel depot. If you feel confident on making the flight to the white hole station you can even skip the additional trip to ember twin for safety and directly go to brittle hollow jump into the black hole and proceed from there. Since you need to wait for a good opportunity anyway the only thing you increase would be playtime which would only be a concern if you want to Speedrun this route which this video wasn't about so consistency we go for
It's like a space playground with no rules, every time I play this game I find a new way to appreciate it. It's one of those where I think it would be rare for even 2 people to have exactly the same experience
That would be very easy.... And I hope I'm right in saying that you can only use it once you've warped from the AT to TE - it "activates" it . Hope so anyway or I wasted a lot of time lol!
@@jimmyyrob I actually don't know whether they need to be activated or not, tho I never considered that a possibility. I found this video cause I was searching if anyone had done this. Maybe ppl would attempt go use the space shuttle xD Would be fun to see xD
