Just started an etsy business myself, looking for a side income as well as venture to enjoy this hobby with others, thanks for sharing your experiences
How do you pay your material fees? Do you collect all your receipts from buying yarn, eyes, etc and then put back that amount? Or do you look at the material costs from the items you made? I know everyone will be different but right now I have no ideas on how to go about paying myself back for material costs.
I just collect the receipts of the materials I bought that month! I find it would be way to hard to calculate the cost of materials for each item as I get gifted materials sometimes too!
Hey! I usually just get messages on my Facebook page from repeat customers, or people message me personally when they see my ad on Facebook market place for either plushies that are already made or for a custom order!
This is a great video, but there's something I got confused about. You said your total profit for the month was $4,988.54, but then you said you made $5,051.31 just at markets and craft shows. That's more than $4,988.54, and then you said you made money on Etsy and other places, so how can your total profit be only $4,988.54? What am I missing?
I had some expenses, such as yarn, stuffing, safety eyes, and other things to buy for my business, so those expensive got taken out of the amount of money I made 😊
Ya but crocheting takes a long time. If you’re selling for a measly $10 an hour and a project takes you 20 hours, you’re selling it for $200. It’s incredibly hard to sell a throw blanket for a beanie for $100-200. Now let’s bump your pay up to $20 hr since that’s probably what you’re hoping to get out of it. Nobody is buying a beanie or a throw blanket for $200-400.
