I also rode up Helvellyn on a non e-bike which you have to do from the Keswick end on the old coach road and go over about 4 peaks prior to getting to the top of Helvellyn. Great feeling once you achieve it.
Having walked Skiddaw I take my hat off to you doing that decent like you did. It is so bloody steep it's not fun to walk down let alone cycle. Even on the path back to Keswick I admire your pace. Great video.
That bit from 14.11 to 15.08 is so so steep. I tried going up it and only reached the first gate then had to descend and the bike just skidded it was that steep. I have no idea how you done that, it doesn't even look steep on the video. I walked it a month later & it was even hard walking up that steep section. Well done.
Yes mate I had 50% left. I wasn’t sure how much it would use so I rode to the start of the climb with 20% assist. The bike was amazing. I only realised when i got back that turbo was set at 80% so I meet to go back and see if I can get the past the toughest bits with full power
Yes a great way, well I think it is from Skiddaw House, ride from dash falls or lattrig ride round the North side to Skiddaw House, then straight up, between little man and Skiddaw turn right to the top . You will need an ebike well I did 😊
The levo is a amazing bit of kit. I had to push about 1/3 of the climb because it’s just too steep. The bike felt like a DH bike on the way down, really planted. I might consider a break upgrade as I was getting quite a bit of fade. Thanks for your comments 😀👍
itsfredlife I have the base levo (well the frame is) pretty much upgraded everything else. Magura MT7 and magic Mary tyres transformed mine. I think you should have 4 pots on the comp as standard? I’d recommend uberbike e-matrix pads 👍
I think it’s amazing mate. I have been an mtb rider for 20 years and I wasn’t sure about the idea of moving to ebike but I love it. More smiles per miles. 👍
I do ride quite a lot of footpaths especially around where I live in the Yorkshire wolds. I think if you always give way to walkers and stay polite there isn’t a problem.
