I'll be darned, who'd a thunk it? A Canadian from Missouri "The Show Me State". Well now we know a little more about you Gord. I'm from there or have ancestors from there too I guess. You made it plain with your demonstrations today and a little more easy to understand. Thanks for sharing with everyone. I'll be getting in touch later. Fred.

Good afternoon GP I am a very visual person as well.. Show me once then let me try it and bingo.. Good to go.. You my friend have done your research and homework.. But I would not ever doubt you wouldn’t.. You usually do speak about something you have not done your research.. Thanks for sharing.. People will find it very helpful.. Cheers

Hi G.P. I agree I like to see as well. I want the whole picture. You’re getting better all the time with your laser. I didn’t know it was so versatile but you’re showing me. Have a wonderful day thanks

Nice video Gord - seeing is the demonstration that it will or would not work, your getting pretty comfortable with the laser, is it possible to do a tapered round surface that has all 3 axis in use at one time. Cheers and take care.

Hey good day Buddy! I am not sure if there is such an accessory to manage 3 axis at once. Great question. Hope you are well. GP

Hello Gord, If the honeycomb and crumb tray were both removed on the Thunder Bolt, could the PiBurN Grip be placed on the bottom surface below the crumb tray (and adjusted as needed) to gain more depth when engraving larger bowls say 7" wide or more maybe up to 8"? I'm trying to get as much info as possible before making a Thunder Laser purchase. If not then I am considering the new Thunder Bolt Pro 22 (with its advertised +7" of normal Z depth) but it doubles the cost of the laser for me. I'm guessing its 7" of Z depth could be increased the same as you did on the Bolt laser's 4" depth by the same amount. I think that would let me engrave a 9" wide bowl on the Pro 22 with the PiBurn Grip. What do you think? Keep on with your excellent videos please! Rick in northern California

Hey good evening Rick, that is an excellent question but the answer is no. Remember the object is cylindrical which means that you will need the same distance below the centre axis of the rotary device as you can achieve above the centre axis of the rotary (and of course, allowing for enough room for the laser head to reach it's required focal length). You will notice there is a cut out in the bottom of the ROKO twister drop tray. :)). I just looked, after reading your comment, and the specs do say the Pro 22 has a 7.3" z depth. Before you buy it, please confirm with Chris or Grant at Thunder Laser USA if that measurement is to the top of the honeycomb, or measured with the honeycomb removed and measured to the bottom of the machine cabinet. I have spoken to them both a couple fo times and they seem like nice folks. Good luck and all the best!

Hey Gord, am enjoying all of your videos. Where do you get your bowls and mugs from - I believe you are in Ontario....I am in Calgary. Thanks, Peter.

I find this all very interesting stuff, Gord. Unrelated question: I see the marks left on the honeycomb...is it a consumable? If so, what kind of life expectancy does it have? Cheers!
@LaserNUG
@LaserNUG 6 месяцев назад
Morning Chris. Yes, really intriguing - so much to learn but can hold my attention for hours. LOL. No, I think it is pretty much for life or at least a very, very long time - it is a metal of some sort. The marks are surface residue and scorch marks from the laser and the materials. I was just washing it two days ago (soap and water in the sink) and the brown marks come off easily with no effort when I wipe it with a q-tip in between the honeycombs. The laser can not cut metal. I know the RF laser component itself has a life expectancy of 10 years. But good question - I will have to ask. Cheers!

so why not just sit it on the bottom?
@LaserNUG
@LaserNUG 5 месяцев назад
Good morning - thanks for the Question. In many cases the diameter of the round object will require space underneath the rotary such that it can pass unobstructed. A good example is a mug - the handle will need space to be able to turn below the device. That's why Drop Trays have a big cutout around the middle of the tray. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

@@LaserNUG Are you limited to what "rotary" attachment you can use?
@LaserNUG
@LaserNUG 5 месяцев назад
@@user-wx4kc4yq6r I don't think so - if you go to Robert's RU-vid channel ( Computer Creationz), he has made a few videos of it using different rotaries. Good luck and all the best!
