Should they have been born a couple of decades ago to gain your approval, perhaps go get your ears checked out if you can't tell the difference between your personal preference and objective metrics of quality.

You have substantiated this opinion with nothing more than a person saying they prefer pepperoni pizza over ham and pineapple. If you're going to call a sustained, stable and controlled vibrato "warbling" you don't have much of a vocal background to speak on.
