Girl omg! I can attest to everything you said! I met the most handsome Costa Rica man at the beach(he was selling jet ski tours and lived in Brasilito) when I was staying at the W resort in Guanacaste and he literally swept me off my feet and love bombed me hard. We had amazing times together, he showed me places that tourists would not know about, we went in the most amazing adventures, he taught me how to surf and brought me to his house to meet his family. I could not believe that people live in such conditions, he was really poor and his house was a slum which he lived in with another 8 family members and although he never asked me for money outright, I paid for everything when we were together, restaurants, tours, shopping, groceries cause I felt sorry for him. I did go back 2 more times to see him but I started getting these gut feelings that he was not being honest with me and I’m so naive to think that he is waiting for me while I’m in Canada although he professed his love to me every day lol And there is no way I wanted to be a sugar mama to a man who is same age as me(we are both 30) and just content being a beach bum. I had to let him go and he was so mad😂

I am so happy we both got lucky down here with good men, I have heard some horror stories! Im going to add two things here that I’ve observed. 1. Marriage isn’t the most common thing here and I see a lot more people having kids outside of marriage, outside a monogamous relationship, or outside a relationship at all as a “oopsies”. Just something to keep in mind if you don’t want kids, or don’t want to be a step parent. In Costa Rica you may find some baby mama/papa drama. 2. Beach boys. Lol they have a bad reputation here, not saying all of them are bad or not but they tend to be more of the party boys in the hookup scene than someone who is ready to be exclusive and settle down. Love here exists but it is definitely a learning curve in many aspects. Good luck everyone!!

Love this Abby! It's true - and actually the reason that I've been told as to why marriage is not as common, is generally because of the laws that come along with marriage - from what I've heard, a man can lose everything to a woman he married if things go sour, and especially if children are involved. Everything up to the point of his retirement pension. From this point of view, marriage doesn't sound all too appealing. Thanks so much for adding in your two cents 😊

That’s right, my wife can be very possessive of me and she’s from this culture… I understand what you mean.😊

I am Tico and I live in Mexico with my Mexican wife, and the truth is that I and my entire family are not very affectionate and she and her family are very affectionate, we share everything, the same way all my Tico friends share everything with their partners, we are all from the valley central, the truth is that everything that counts feels so different from what I experienced, but it may be different today than 7 or 10 years ago when I and my friends were single.

Maybe it is a thing of the times, like I mentioned, cell phones have really changed things and not necessarily for the best when it comes to relationships… but also, not everyone is the same,and still lots of these points I go over can be applied worldwide, just depends on each individual! It sounds like you had a great experience with some really great people around you!!! Thanks for your insight 😊

@@EmmainCostaRica After traveling to the beach, I confirmed that the problem is not the Ticos, it is those on the beach, hahahaha xD You have to live in the Central Valley for a while, to get another experience.

Wow! these are really big generalizations using words ''everybody'', "a lot of people".
@EmmainCostaRica
@EmmainCostaRica 5 месяцев назад
Not once in the video did I say "everybody", except for at the end when I said "leave a your advice or comments so _everyone_ can read them" - however I genuinely know "a lot of people" who have experienced or "created" the experience of these situations, I coouuld give lists of names, but I think that would be a bit much! Thanks for taking the time to watch 😄
