@@layladurrant6876 yes indeed, but what really gets me is the lyrics. I feel like it's one of Thom's most sincere, lyrically direct songs, no grotesque political metaphors or Kid A-speak... The way he describes at the end having an overwhelming feeling of love in the woods, it immediately struck me as the most pure and elegant song they've ever done when I heard it for the first time.
@@thecarmelittles Agreed, It took me a while to appreciate AMSP because I was so into their Rock stuff, but now it's up there with my favourite albums... and Glass Eyes never fails to have me completely shaken
@@gnoelalexmay I play Thom's parts in the band, so guitars, keyboards and percussion. But I'm also a songwriter and producer, so I play some more stuff like bass and I write arrangements.
Listening to In Rainbows obsessively for the past two years really paid off in that last round lol. I almost felt embarrassed that I got both Bodysnatchers and Nude as quickly as I did
Knowing the songs and being able to remember their names is two different things...also, kudos for half of Radiohead's songs being among your favorite Radiohead songs.
@@janeg7830 song titles aren't important. Just knowing the album, and being able to sing some stuff in your head, proves everything. I think it's obvious that Mr. Yorke doesn't care about the song titles either, because they're all so random. Maybe that's the point. They only matter when you need them, but then again, some of them are certain to hold personal meaning to one of the artists involved, obviously. They aren't for us in the first place, so why should we force ourselves to remember random words and phrases, just to prove we listen to the music?
I always fail to see the extreme hype for OK Computer. I think it’s a very good/great album but it’s far from an all timer, for me anyway. IMO, Radiohead has at least 3-4 better albums.
Nah I know that album pretty well, unfortunately haha. King of Limbs, however? I don't think Ive heard that all the way through more than five times, and I downloaded it like first hour they dropped it, iirc. Definitely not an inspired collection of songs, imho
Years ago I was listening to Amnesiac in bed, about to drift off to sleep during Dollars and Cents, then that scratchy trebly guitar in Hunting Bears gave my a rude awakening lol. That’s probably the only reason I recognized it
I thought it was from I Might Be Wrong. The lull just before the single guitar comes in for the outro section. Right album at least I guess! The half second ones are so hard

Im commenting this right when he guessed it. I knew from the roughness of the guitar that it was bodysnatchers. It has such a distinct sound. Very good song, one of my favorites.
Wow how the hell. Guessed ripcord for veg, and somehow glass eyes name evaded me even when the song didn't. Plus nude thought it was htdc and hunting bears as well. Super impressive mate
@@CaveWang I only knew Vegetable from noticing it was in Eb tuning. Nude was tough but I could tell from that vintage synth sound. Glass Eyes was difficult, the piano gave it away but that static string note threw me off. Bodysnatchers took me 2 minutes to decipher, drop D tuning gave me a hint though.
I literally jumped for joy getting little by little and wolf at the door. Wolf at the Door is my favorite Radiohead song because its SO different from all the rest and is a blast to belt to in the car.
I’m just happy I recognized Everything in its right place :’) OK computer is the most perfect album ever created though, so I was sad there were no songs from it
A lot of these for me were "I know the song, but I don't know the song title". I've listened to their albums in full a lot, but aside from famous singles, and my own personal faves, I can't really name song titles :)

Once you get into the .5, it comes down to how well you know their instruments and amp sounds by album release. Production style, too. "Oh, that synth/that distortion sounds like such and such!" Gotta have that match between obsessive fan and obsessive tech lover

Pretty proud of 14/15. I guessed Punch Up at a Wedding for the last one because it opens with a similar sounding spell of Thom's somewhat chaotic vocal harmonies saying "no" a bunch of times.
My all time favorites are Radiohead, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles, and I’m so hyped for this series! I got 9/15. I love that you don’t say anything about specific songs as guesses until the end so you give the viewers a chance to play along too. The last round was much more challenging than with The Beatles, I also only got Nude right. I love your channel and your videos. If you want suggestions, Pink Floyd of course, The Who, Stones (RIP Charlie Watts), Velvet Underground, Talking Heads, Nick Drake (would have to be shorter but the songs fit well), The Doors, or many more would work, but really any artist you choose would be great.
I would love to see you attempt this with Queen, given all their diversity in styles (and also maybe to showcase a bit more of their more unknown songs), but do whatever feels more comfortable with your knowledge (Queen is my favorite band and I would totally attempt something like this if I had a RU-vid channel like yours hahah 😂)
10/15, and massively frontloaded with it. Anyone who genuinely got the Amnesiac song in round 3 deserves a bottle of Johnny Greenwood's favourite tipple.
From the 0,5 second round I recognised "Hunting Bears" instantly, without even being a favorite song...Got 8 right in total. 0,5 was my biggest struggle; just 1 right (aforementioned).
Glad it’s not just me who’s not as well versed with the first and last albums! Love your videos David, especially when Radiohead can be called upon to explain/explore a musical concept! Keep up the great work.
Your Beatles version of this made me do this with my spouse a few different times. I have a bunch of snippets for Queen, Yes, and Pink Floyd done if you want me to send some to you to try out.
It's really interesting how taking snippets of something familiar can make it seem completely new. In round 3, I did manage to get EIIRP, Hunting Bears, and Wolf at the door, but I missed Nude and Bodysnatchers, despite being quite familiar with them.
I got Jigsaw falling into place, Bodysnatchers, everything in its right place, nude. No idea how I missed everything else in the easier categories lmao.
honestly your friend that compiled this list was super good about what songs to choose for the 0.5 second bit, all of them have very particular sonic qualities that instantly give the song away for me (except for wolf at the door, which i entirely mistook for life in a glasshouse)
Björk would be awesome! I had 8/15. I had the same ones right as you in round 1 and 2, then in 3 I guessed Hunting Bears and Wolf at the Door, but not Nude (weirdly). That was quite intense!
I got 4, didn't expect that at all since I got the two first in the 2" lap (Jigsaw and Just) and nothing in the 1" lap but then I guessed Bodysnatchers and Everything in its Right Place quite confidently, which makes me feel good about myself (although I should've gotten Wolf at the Door too)
I was just thinking that! I would limit it to studio albums up to "Made in Heaven" to make it fair. Which album would be your weak spot? I think mine would be "Hot Space". Pink Floyd would be an interesting one, too.

I was so sure and so wrong on some of these. Was convinced A Wolf At The Door was Dollars and Cents and I thought Everything In Its Right Place was Motion Picture Soundtrack. I went from cocky to self-hatred so fast.
YES!! 15/15!! But man, were certain clips absolutely *brutal.* The ones that really stumped me were Glass Eyes and Hunting Bears; the former because of, as you said it, the mellow and washed-out piano (but the string section eventually gave it away), and the latter because I could barely remember any Radiohead songs with a scratch in them - I literally had to scan the entire discography in my head to get to it, but man was it satisfying to get it right! One other clip that was fairly challenging was Bodysnatchers, but that's only because of the low D note, which made me choose between Bodysnatchers and Optimistic; but, in the end, the drums and extra distortion clued me in. Imagine if there were also B-sides in this challenge. Would bump the difficulty up to Platinum trophy-level for sure, hah. And then there were clips that I got right away, like Everything In Its Right Place (that synth tone is iconic), Little By Little (the percussion and guitar were a dead giveaway), and A Wolf At The Door (the 6/8 time signature, the drums, and Thom's lower register vocals). ...yeah, I might be a little too obsessed with Radiohead. That being said, kudos to your friend for such an awesome challenge, and to you for such awesome content!

I clicked on this and thought, unwisely, that I would be good at it. And then I remembered within the first few minutes that most of my listening to Radiohead since I was a little bab has been through albums, not songs, and so I was just going, "Crap, I've heard this but I don't know its name," "I know this but I can't REMEMBER its name," "I know the ALBUM but what's the soooooooooong" the whole video.
Got 14/15 but to be fair I've studied the theory of their songs religiously and have heard them all like a million times. I didn't get Sulk, I thought it was the middle eight of Nice Dream too, but Bodysnatchers gave itself away with the clicking on the rim of the snare. You really just have to listen to the timbre of the instruments.

I got You and whose army, codex, glass eyes, recognized myxamatosis but couldn't get the name, bodysnatchers, everything in its right place, and nude. I feel like the easier songs to guess were the shortest clips and the harder ones were the longer clips.
I was just listening to Radiohead's new song "If You Say the Word" and your video was in my recommended. I'm glad I checked it out! I did play along and...well...I consider myself to be a pretty huge Radiohead fan but I only got all of the 2 second clips and TWO 1 second clip ones! Damn lol It was more like "omg I know I know this" but just could not get it out lol This was really fun!
