Brown bread-- being dead Muppet-- idiot Bee's knees-- cool, excellent, high quality Drop the kids off at the pool-- go to the toilet Gobsmacked-- Shocked Faffing around-- Wasting time or doing something unnecessary On the lash-- Go out and get drunk
Cool! Some cockney slang. I heard some of them before. My favourite one is to drop the kids off at the pool. The slang expression for that in Russian (translated literally) is to lay a larva. 😀
@@InstantEnglishUK Yes, we do! Translating from portuguese... "I'll make number 1", "I'll cut the monkey's tail off", or, "I'll drop a clay off" among others. At least in Sao Paulo (Brazil), I'm not sure about Rio de Janeiro or in Portugal, maybe they use different expressions there kkkk...😄
Almost all of them (besides gobsmacked) are new to me. But I really like the first one (brown bread). Never heard it before and would never be able to guess its meaning in a million years 😂
These all make sense to me as an Aussie - I suspect many ex colonies like Australia, NZ, South Africa would know these. The only one I didn't know was brown bread, but if you had told me it was rhyming slang, I would have guessed it.
Well I guess being English it was obvious all of these would be so damn easy. Although you exaggerated the beesknees one. You are the beesknees-You are the best!
Brown bread!! horrible expression. But curiously when Chris mentioned it in my mind I saw a corpse but consciously I didn't thought in a dead person. That at the toilette I got it.
@@InstantEnglishUK okay,I promise, I"ll also use brown bread, muppet and I'm going to drop the kids off at the pool. Your videos are great and I could listen to your voice long hours.
